    looks like a great bike for adv riding, power off road power on road, low weight, beeauuutiful on road ,off road, on beach , in city , in boulevards, in deserts, in france in usa, sounds perfect, ... a couple of soft bags and you can ride it from morocco to asia (maybe a small windshield...)

    Just a couple of things...thumbs up for the intro music (memories)...and thumbs up for having the balls to take an SP off road...I have a DRZ and if I come off, which is regularly I dust myself off and keep going but I imagine if you come of that, your hip pocket hurt bad...Great vid though, makes me think it could actually double as a true adventure machine with panniers etc...I want one or maybe a Hyperstrada

      Haha thank you! If you check out my instagram, same username, you'll see I've done some real offroading and adv trips on this bike. I've dropped it and broken mirrors and handguards and added some battle scars but nothing serious. But I did recently get a real dualsport, xr250r, and am absolutely loving having a real dirt machine. I still like having the option of hitting some dirt on the hyper if I want. It's been a great bike for me and my riding style.

    Great vid. My only concern with riding the Hyper on those roads is that the suspension must be harsh as hell on the rough stuff. Great choice of tire, though, and there's enough passerby traffic that riding alone with phone service seems fine. Just don't hit a deer. :)

    • @Spetznaz666
      @Spetznaz666 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Devin Gore I wouldn’t say supermotos are slow unless you mean maybe the wr250r. I went from a 2016 R6 to a 2015 DRZ400sm and I wouldn’t consider it slow. It definitely doesn’t have that warp drive feel of a super sport but it’s quick off the light. It also weighs about 100lbs less and it’s super nimble in the twisties. Throw on a pair of tkc 80’s and you can off road it too. Plus those new KTM’s and Huskies are pushing 75hp on a 320lbs bike

      @JetCityHooligan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice video, have you ever rode a Tenere 700? Just wondering how the feel compares to this. This seems pretty squirrely in the rough stuff, and so was the T7. Cheers

    • @JetCityHooligan
      @JetCityHooligan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't. I'd imagine the T7 would be better offroad than the Hyper being that it's a proper adventure bike and the hyper is basically a ducati monster with taller suspension haha. The hyper is pretty brutal offroad, definitely wouldn't recommend it for an adv bike.

    great vid, just wondering how much of a werk out it is wrestling the bike around the trails, i have a ducati, not a hypermoto, but i know how they feel, so was wondering how tireing it is on the trails, i have a duel purpose bike i been riding 30 years and it is 400 pounds, and it is a great bike but can be a werk out at times, thought about a hypermoto fer years, but never felt like i'd want to risk the trails, but then also said to my self, its just a bike and it looked fun

    What's up. I recently asked my Ducati dealership about the cheapest way to convert a hypermotard to a dual purpose bike, and the guy said all I'd really need is to change the tires. Would you agree with that statement? I really like this bike and I'm seriously considering it if I don't have to invest a fortune for light off road.

    • @JetCityHooligan
      @JetCityHooligan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly there are better suited and more affordable bikes out there for dual purpose riding. But if you are dead set on a Hyper then yeah the tires are really the only thing you need to change. I would also add a skid plate (mine is from SW-Motech) to protect the oil filter and bottom of the engine. There are a few of us Hyper guys than run dirt/adv tires and do lots of offroad riding. Motocorsa is a Ducati Dealer in Portland Oregon than has built a few dual sport hypers and multistradas along with a panigale with dirt tires haha

Although majority of my rides are in concrete roads but sometimes me and my friends go to distant places with unknown road condition. But i want an in-between bike for road and adventure. im still contemplating but i want the nimbleness of the Hypermotard compared to the heavy bulky BMW adventure. Let me know your thoughts

    • @JetCityHooligan
      @JetCityHooligan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you do mostly on road, I think the Hyper would be a great bike for you. It's a fun machine and absolutely shines in the twisty stuff. It's not very good offroad with its 17" wheels and it's fairly top heavy. The KTM 790 Adventure R would be my pick for a good 70/30 onroad/offroad machine. The Hyper is better for 95/5 onroad/offroad.

    Riding out there alone seems risky.

      Sitting alone in your home could be risky, you could have a stroke or heart attack and die. I'd rather be out having fun taking risks than being safe and not doing what I love.

    I don't understand why people say these are so bad offroad, they have the ground clearance and you just need some tires, I offroad the fuck out of my full sumo (g650 xmoto) and it does perfectly fine, are most ducati owners just bitches?

    • @JetCityHooligan
      @JetCityHooligan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're not very good offroad, the suspension has a lot of travel but its super stiff for street and track riding. It could be revalved/resprung to make it more offroad friendly but it's not terrible so I've just left it alone. Haha Yeah I think most ducati owners and people who lust after ducatis cringe at the thought of getting one dirty or scratched up. It's a motorcycle, its not meant to be a spotless garage queen.

    • @DolphinDivingChamp
      @DolphinDivingChamp 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JetCityHooligan my sumo is way too soft with all the suspension at the hardest settings, when your jumping it and hit big bumps you want a hard suspension from what ive experienced

    • @JetCityHooligan
      @JetCityHooligan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DolphinDivingChamp yeah but street suspension stiff and offroad suspension stiff are way different. If you ride a dirtbike and hypermotard back to back over jumps and rough terrain you'll see why one is a street bike that looks like a supermoto and one is an actual dirtbike, they're clearly way different suspension setups.
