Thank you! I like the people that not only know how to use the tools, but the ones that go further explaining how it works.

Less than a 1% tolerance through the whole range? Very impressive. I'm sure you know this but with most click-style torque wrenches the usual standard is 4% +/-. Nice work sir.

But remember, the pull point that you marked is moving when you adjust the handle in and out for torque so for every setting that you’re calibrating, you need to make sure that you’re pulling exactly at 1 foot or if it’s a long, torque wrench, whatever standardized point you’re using FROM THE CENTERLINE OF THE DRIVE FITTING. Otherwise, you’re inducing error into your calibration. Otherwise, a great presentation!

Next time you put a set screw down a hole like that - stick a magnet to the allen wrench so the screw doesn't fall off.

This was great. My old torque wrench is built the same way, and I appreciate the tips in cleaning it up and calibrating it.

Great work dude!!! Very good information and clear presentation. I will definitely be checking and or calibrating mine on one of these nights off now that I know how easy it is.

Nice video Neal, 2 questions, what's with the gloves ? and when you checked it at 40 and 60 you didn't have to re- mark the 12 inch line? Also a good tip at the end about storing anything with a spring at slack tension. I do the same with some power tools like miter saws etc.

@@matthunting1162 I had a piece of tape on the handle marked at 12 inches so it would be easier to reset everytime. And as far as Black gloves, they are on if I'm getting into grease or oil. Just easier to not make a mess if I have to grab something else, or change a song playing.

Thankyou, that explains a lot. Just got my first torque wrench in a lot of used tools at an auction. I've got a bit of restoration to do and it's not the same model, but at least now I know what's inside it and most importantly how to check the calibration :)

Excellent detailed video. Subscribed. Would you be able to do a demo video calibrating the CDI torque wrench you have in your toolbox?

Nice, vid. I have a craftsman that I left the torque on for many years. I am sure it's out. I will use this method. Thanks!

Why is there a circlip left over on the bench?

I have a very nice craftsman, a torque wrench from 1977 and the seal at the end of the handle is solder or some other kind of metal. How do you open those up to calibrate? Do you think heating it with a torch would melt whatever material is in there? Thanks.

Can you please make a vid of calibrating that cdi torque wrench? I dropped mine and the handle came off…. I was so heartbroken.

since the handle moves up and down when you dial in the torque, wouldn't you need to mark and pull exactly at 12" for the various torque settings?

Yes, you're correct. I put the tape where the 12" mark would be with the adjustment barrel "in".

Hi, nice video! Thanks for all the info and instructions! Only i have one question, why it doesn’t make that ‘click’ noise? I have exactly the same “issue” of not making that really clicking noise.

    Hello,
I have a torque wrench broken at the head because I forced during a tightening, I changed the broken part but it does not click anymore during tightening.
Thank you for telling me give your opinion on the problem.
    CORDIALLY
