Hey my loves! I see some of you have concerns with alpha arbutin, while I see it potentially working as a spot corrector but that is not how the serums are marketed, they are directed to be used all over the face. From the research papers I read, alpha arbutin should not be used for more than 3 months at a stretch as it can sensitize the skin, and ofcourse photosensitivity is a huge issue especially when you are using a product AM and PM, for issues like melasma, hyperpigmentation and post acne scarring, there are other options, peptides being really helpful as they boost collagen production, which in turn renews skin cells, it will definitely take longer but is a safer and more long lasting route. The effect of alpha arbutin is quick but temporary as it just blocks the way for melanin. Still I do see that ot worked for some of you guys and you are happy with the results which is great, but I hope you understand my stand point too.
Agreed alpha arbutin is not for everyone but it is not just a skin whitening agent. It is used for uneven pigmentation in some areas of face like around mouth, etc. It is useful for darkened scars and melasma. All these things are not just "gora hona".
Same happened to me.. I have been using this product since 1 month and my skin color is the same. Yes my acne scars were reduced and pigmentation is also gone..
@@ruba4288 I don’t know a lot about these ingredients. But in general the effects of niacinamide and vitamin c are similar. You can also use both for added benefits. Hyaluornic acid on the other hand helps in plumping the skin and is great for adding moisture to dehydrated skin. Alpha arbutin is used mainly as a treatment for hyperpigmentation. It's not a skin Lightner. It should only be used as a treatment on areas of hyperpigmentation like around mouth, etc. Moreover it should not be used as a maintenance product too. It's only a TREATMENT
I bought 10% niacinamide+ 0.3% alpha arbutin from deconstruct. I am using it as a serum itself. Is it okay? Coz the concentration of AA is less. I have dark spots here and there. A little pigmentation around mouth area.
So true. I use it for my hyperpigmentation and acne scarring which is hard to get rid off. And alpha arbutin really helped my skin. I never thought it as a skin lightening.
It's unfair calling alpha arbutin it fancier fair and lovely, because it has the term lightning related to it. But ALPHA ARBUTIN it blessing for who have acne marks. We definitely want to see more parts of this video! The one thing which is very confusing is how to use these ingredients together as part of a complete skin care routine - morning and evening. Can you please make a video explaining this??
I disagree about the Alpha Arbutin. Yes, there are people who are gonna misuse it but it's a great ingredient for people with sensitive skin who deal with hyperpigmentation. Not to mention it's an antioxidant which is often recommended in your skincare routine while fighting hyperpigmentation since hyperpigmentation can be the result of disruption between oxidant and antioxidant balance. It can help a lot in cases where hyperpigmentation is generated due to free radicles on our skin. It is unfair to the people who have benefitted and people who could possibly benefit from it by saying we just don't need it. There are certain ingredients that work extremely well for a set group of people and alpha arbutin can be that ingredient for a lot of people. I know you don't mean all of this in a sense where people would feel bad for using it but its also not right to dismiss a certain ingredient just because one of its features is temporary skin lightening which is to the extent of how our skin colour changes depending on whether its summer or winter, a little more tan, a little more light. It all depends on what you use it for. Yes the hype is gonna get more people to know about it but that also means a lot more people can be benefitted from it. Also calling it a fair and lovely thing is downright offensive lmaoooooooo

I beg to differ on your Alpha arbutin part. The main goal of Alpha arbutin is to lighten pigmentation, and not the overall skin tone. That's the reason why it's formulated in so many products. It is very similar to vitamin C, azelaic acid and even hydroquinone in that sense. It isn't being used to 'lighten' the entire skintone. Also, it is not capable of doing so (permanently) anyway. So I think alpha arbutin is a good option for those who have hyperpigmentation/ scarring.
Hey love, Alpha Arbutin does lighten the skin tone, this is also a mandatory disclaimer that all companies which have an Alpha Arbutin serum have to give, it is not permanent but it definitely does lighten the skin, just like Vitamin C and Hydroquinone.
@@shreyajain26 exactly! Just like vit c/ hydroquinone. Definitely, not everyone NEEDS it. But it can be great for people who have stubborn pigmentation and scars as it inhibits tyrosinase activity, in turn, reducing the excessive melanin production in those particular areas.

@@shreyajain26 You are right Shreya, I have seen board certified dermatologist speak about it too, that DONT FRIKKIN USE HYDROQUINONE without any knowledge and alpha arbutin as well.
Alpha Arbutin is used more as a depigmenting agent for skin of colour than lightening ingredient. It works really well in evening out skin tone and fading hyperpigmentation and acne scars, sun spots, even melasma. Once the acne scar is faded, the skin anyway regenerates, so the scars don't come back, same for uneven skin tone especially around mouth and sides of face which is a big concern of people of colour. Yes, melasma can coz it's more hormonal .It is the safest and gentlest ingredient to even out hyperpigmentation in skin of colour. In fact, dermats prescribe hydroquinone for scars and melasma, this if works is safer than hydroquinone and OTC. Not sure of 3 months as I haven't come across that, can take a break or stop using when scars faded or skin more even or not required. Alpha arbutin is not a ‘skin lightener’. It helps people with conditions such as hyper pigmentation and melasma. These are serious conditions that require help. Please do not compare it with fairness creams. Do your research!
And these issues should be dealt under the care of a dermatologist or skin expert. Alpha Arbutin is not an ingredient that should be used for fun, also yes, it is a skin lightener, every company which has an Alpha Arbutin serum has to legally give that disclaimer.
@@shreyajain26 so by your logic then every other skin concern should also be only addressed by a dermatologist...even acne. That makes no sense, especially when you sit there doing exactly the opposite. Skin youtubers like cassandra bankson, james welsh, beauty within and hyram all talk about alpha arbutin and their benefits. I’m sure they’re more well versed in ingredients than us. Also reading about ingredients online doesn’t make anyone an ‘expert’ on skincare. These people have tons of experience in the skincare industry and have worked with specialists for years.
@@manaalsidd we don't go the doctor for minute issues like a small fever do we? so by that logic if our skin is dry we can definitely think about using a humectant or an emollient. No one is a know it all we are all learning every single day. Doctors used to use hydroquinone to treat hyperpigmentation and a lot of people followed that, but I am sure you can look up what it is and what is can do to your skin. Blocking melanin from coming to the surface does make your skin photosensitive especially when you are using a product daily AM and PM and that is how Alpha Arbutin is supposed to be used. Even "experts" don't recommend using Alpha Arbutin for more than 3 months at a stretch, so yes I did do my research.
@@shreyajain26 yeah...the way you presented it as a “fairness” agent and not recommending products for it coz ‘we should move over from fairness and lightening’ was a negative wrong picture of the ingredient that you highlighted. Otherwise the skin youtubers I mentioned and millions other, (who are actually vocal and against fairness and skin lightening) would not have strongly recommended it. And had u done your research you would have give pros along with your alleged cons...and hyperpigmentation, melasma, uneven skintone, would have come up in your video.
@@shreyajain26 look i’m not one to argue here...just pointing out an obvious misinformation. We in India are still not savvy with our ingredients as our foreign counterparts. Yes Alpha arbutin is safe to use for hyperpigmentation. It will take around 3 months of regular usage for you to notice some changes though and it's not going to make your skin tone lighter by any means, it will just brighten the areas having hyperpigmentation. I've been using it and it didn't make my skin tone lighter or anything but it is definitely brightening my hyperpigmentation. Do look up some youtubers who are actually facing hyperpigmentation problem.

She's literally spouting mis information. About alpha arbutin that is.
I usually don't comment on videos but off lately Shreya's content is really hitting me hard.So knowledgeable and helpful.Luv You girl and hoping for more content like this✨❤️
I just have one question, how many of us can actually say that we have NEVER EVER used a filter or brighter tool to brighten (make our skin fair) our pictures before posting it? Like ever???
I can’t take my eyes off from her head ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I don’t know what is that but looks cute
Most genuine youtuber. Really love ur videos
Benzoyl peroxide is forgotten here.. bcoz it works so companies dont promote
Why do you have to be so pretty shreya. I can't concentrate on what you say. Your beauty distracts me😭😭😭😭😭
Hey shreya didi please make video on what product i should use as a college student for my skin I'm 20 years old and should I use these things Aha etc please make a video on it. It can be highly informational for us. Loveyou ❤ following you since forever now feels like a great connectivity

Please do a video on recommendations of products that contain these ingredients 🙏
Suggest something for people who have so sensitive skin that practically no sunscreen of any brand suits the skin. Please suggest some alternatives.
Plum green tea sunscreen worked for my sensitive skin. If you wanna try.. you may.
Much needed information we need to know about these....
Very helpful
Hello shreya. Please do a video of chemical exfoliation for beginners. Truly truly needed.
Ur looking like an angel love u alot dear...and the video was requested by me I'm feeling very happy that this video is made by ur side..love uh dear take care
Hi shreya! Please review alpha arbutin serum ❤. This is not skin lightening, its just hyperpigmentation lightener❤
In my experience Alpha Arbutin works great for hyperpigmentation and acne marks.
If u don't mind, which serum did u use?
@@Ana-wr3el Minimalist Alpha Arbutin - took two months but I have the most clear skin I've had since teenage now.
Hey Shreya alpha Arbutin can be used for dark pigmentation lighting, can't it ?
Hey can you make like separate videos of everything from skin care things to makeup things...best of best from budget friendly to medium range to high end.... Since there are huge range of everything available in market not able to decide...it will really helpful like... best of best Wednesday videos
you should come up with a complete skin care of all these ingredients
as we r confused wht to use how
Was confused between alpha air butin and peptide what new should I use next. Now I know the answer.
AMAZING VIDEO. LOVE TO SEE A INFLUENCER TAKING BOUT SKINCARE AND EDUCATING MASS. BUT YEAH IF ALPHA ARBUTIN IS FAIR AND LOVELY THEN VIT C IS GLOW AND LOVELY? SOME PART OF "AA" WAS TRUE BUT AGAIN MISINFORMATION IS SOMETHING THAT WE ALL MAKE UNAWARELY. HOPE U LOOK INTO IT IN FUTURE. ANYWAY LOVE UR EVERYDAY CONTENT. MORE POWER TO YOU :)
That is true and in my previous video where I talk about Vitamin C, I did say it bleaches the skin 😬
@@shreyajain26 what? U serious 😅 i hope that was a mistake😌
Just could not thank you enough for doing this video, for a beginner who wants to try out acids in skincare, this was very helpful for me. Much love
It is essential that we educate properly and given your influence...that becomes even more crucial. Good vibes only. Peace ✌🏼
Please review the Bioré Sunscreens! (on Nykaa) I've heard Korean sunscreens are at the top of the game worldwide and it would be great to see how they work on the Indian skin.
You're always so thorough with your reviews ❤️

Oh my god can not stress enough. This was the most requested video. Thank you shreya❤️
shreya thanka for making this things easier to understand for us....how is the texture of niacinamide...like is to sticky and will irritate for oily skin??
Hey shreya, why don't you start your own makeup & skincare line? I would love to buy those.
Wow..too much information..loved it😇
Superb info Shreya, and you are looking vryyyyyy pretty
Feels heaven when we meet often ❤️
The headband looks bomb❤️
Please create a recommendation video on sunscreen considering cost effective and white cast issue.
I'm kinda confused about Alpha Arbutin , I've watched Dr Vanita Rattan's video on the same and she said that Alpha Arbutin is safe , effective and prevents rebound pigmentation unlike hydroquinone .
Would love to have skin care specifically for each skin types
You look soo pretty and fresh!! Veryy different from ur previous videos❤️
Best youtuber so far😍
Can we take a moment to appreciate her today's look. ❤ this girl always comes with intresting and fabulous looks❤😍
I have used Minimalist Niacinamiee and it reacted with my skin so bad that I had so manyyyyy acne pimples that were very very painful..... Their Alpha arbutin and moisturizer suited ne so well, I fell in love with them...
I am however not allergic to Niacinamide because I have used one by the Paul's Choice and the ordinary and they suited me beautifully...❤️
What percentage of niacinamide that caused you pimples and what % u tried later and which brand
@@charan7894 i Tried Minimalist's Niacinamide

Love love❤️❤️
Yes I would definitely want to see a next part and that would be the layering. What should be applied first, second etc. and what should be the final product?
Hey shreya. U r one of my favorite blogger. I have a question can i use retinol and Naicinamide at a time??????
Such an informative video. 👍
You're looking like a Floral Princess ☺💖
Queen coming up with the BEST content
soo beautifull..
love that head band
you look Egyptian godess
bow down to her🙇🙇🙇
Too good actually when I Needed it the most.. Would you mind also telling us how to layer these ingredients coz man they r too confusing..
That alpha Arbutin part is a bit too much lol. Alpha arbutin is mostly used by people who have hyperpigmentation. Most people in skincare don't use it to lighten there skin.
Man i was waiting since morning ki abhi tak video aayi kyu nai !! Finally its here !!
Looking stunning as always 😍❤️shreya di do niacinamide serum makes our skin tone even ? I meant that my forehead is darker than my checks and my face so it will make it even ?
If I am using facial oil then I think I can skip squalene. As oil also packs the water of the skin.
Shreya is that kinda TH-camr who will give us best review & explanation about various products that's why we love her videos so much 😍 Thanks a lot shreya for this helpful video ❤
Love u Shreya for all such Informative vedioes
i liked the fact of "skin lightening" u mentioned for alpha arbutin...overall the video is really very informative and lastly i am loving ur look in the video.
u explained all the ingrediants very well shreya..but if u would tell us which product (brand) we will get this or we should use..it would be great for us
What can I do to increase melanin Production in my skin 👩🏽
