Our Father, who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy Name,
    thy kingdom come,
    thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those
    who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.

“How BIG is your God?” This is the question for everyone. Bravo, John! I love the book, The Little Prince, in which are many examples of those who speak authoritatively. They usually have many endless details that keep them BUSY, and to appear knowledgeable, but main provable Godly principles are ignored. Unfortunately, EXPERTS are in vogue. Anyone who has the “outward appearance “, (degrees, a white coat, etc.) the more these people are admired. Jesus said that we must beware of “all kinds of greed”. There is greed of fame, power over others, knowledge, money, greed for many THINGS. Covetousness is another word for it. Spending our time acquiring these THINGS, ignores the need we have for relationships….which God created us for, with Him and with others. People are more impressed with the “outward” than with the “heart”, inward character, love, truth, and living for the relationships with others, and God. “Every good and perfect gift (even our mind) comes down from above, from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”😊❤

@@schmetterling4477 yes, a creationist that has all the science on my side as you have NONE.
Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it. We KNOW these laws. We have NO doubts about them. We also KNOW that the laws of nature can't come about without a Lawgiver, God.
So if you want to pretend to be smart, please give me the laugh by giving your science how creation really happened by natural means. Also, throw in how we got the laws of nature, naturally.

@Buster Scruggs I am using the original Hebrew text of Genesis, which is scholarly usually translated similar to Young's literal translation:
"1 In the beginning of God's preparing the heavens and the earth --
2 the earth hath existed waste and void, and darkness [is] on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God fluttering on the face of the waters,"
There is nothing in there about an original creation event. That would have been very unwise for the people who wrote this language under the eyes of their Babylonian or Persian overlords. The text strives for plausible deniability so as to not offend the gods of the occupiers of Judea.
And, yes, you are correct. Humanity did NOT know about the actual size of the universe and its composition until the mid 1960s. Not even Einstein had the least freaking clue of how big it was. He died before the cosmic microwave background was even discovered. So, to extend a word "heavens" that did not mean anything else to the Jews than the few thousand stars that they could see to the universe that we know about now is an unhistorical extrapolation.
Theologically you are also in trouble here... if mankind is so special, why create such a large space, almost all of which is absolutely hostile to us? Does that make sense for a Jewish creation god who originally only wanted two people to live in a tiny garden with a talking snake?

DNA code can be equated to a type of computer language. DNA code is more complex than regular computer language in that it is not binary (based on 0 and 1). It is quaternary (based on A T C G). And, as with every known language in existence, confirmed through scientific experiment and observation, is the product of only one thing ... mind/ consciousness /intelligence. ...
_"The discovery of the structure of DNA transformed biology profoundly, catalyzing the sequencing of the human genome and engendering a new view of biology as an _*_Information Science_*_ . Two features of DNA structure account for much of its remarkable impact on science: its _*_Digital_*_ nature and its complimentary, whereby one strand of the helix binds perfectly with its partner. DNA has two types of _*_Digital Information_*_ - the genes that _*_Encode_*_ proteins, which are the _*_Molecular Machines_*_ of life, and the _*_Gene Regulatory Networks_*_ that specify the behavior of the genes."_ (Source: Nature Journal, Nature com)
_"Language: ALL _*_Digital_*_ communications require a formal language, which in this context consists of all the information that the sender and receiver of the digital communication must both possess, in advance, in order for the communication to be successful."_ (Wikipedia: Digital Data)
Modern scientific discoveries in Genetics (i.e. biology) have shown that functional / coded / digital Information (i.e. DNA code) is at the core of *All* Biological Systems. Without functional / coded / digital information, there is NO biology. The only known source (i.e. cause) in the universe that has been Observed in nature to be capable of producing functional / coded / digital information, such as that found even in the most primitive biological systems, is mind / consciousness / intelligence.

    Jesus Was Born Incarnate
Jesus was born incarnate to a young Jewish virgin, lived a sin free life, was illegally persecuted and then crucified on a cross on Calvary. He arose three days later defeating death and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God..
Jesus met with 515 people after His resurrection in a dozen different occasions over a period of about 40 days before He ascended into Heaven.
Jesus knew He was entering the world to be the final and ultimate sacrifice for the sin of mankind. His body had been divinely prepared by God specifically for that purpose. Jesus was going to die for the sins of the world, and He knew it. Moreover, He was doing it willfully and joyfully.
Jesus came to earth to reveal God to mankind and teach truth. He came to fulfill the Law and offer His Kingdom to mankind. He came to show us how to live. He came to reveal God’s love. He came to bring peace. He came to heal the sick. He came to minister to the needy.
He was raised in a family who didn't believe in His divinity. He had six half-brothers and two or three half-sisters who didn't believe in His divinity until after His resurrection.
What gets me is demons knew His divinity but many men and women of His time didn't.
I presume Mary and Joseph knew His divinity. But in Luke 2:49-50 [NKJV] “He said to them, [His earthly parents] “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
This makes me wonder, did they not understand Jesus' divinity?
"But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)
Luke 3:23 states that Jesus was "about 30 years of age" at the start of his ministry.
The four Gospels record 37 miracles of Jesus, with Mark's Gospel recording the most. Three New Testament words refer to Jesus's miraclesas power, signs, and wonder. Every miracle of Jesus served a specific purpose in God's plan of salvation for humankind.
Jesus' miracles were followed by Jesus forgiving the individuals of their sins and commanding they sin no more. Many of Jesus' miracles were not identified. No other religious leader forgave mankind of their sins.
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
    The Purpose of John’s Gospel
“Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which were not recorded in the Bible.
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:29-31 KJV)
Our sins separate us from God, and there’s nothing we can do to make things right. So, we need someone to save us from our sins and make us acceptable to God. That someone is Jesus Christ. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for among men there is given no other Name under heaven, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 GNV)
That’s why God sent Jesus to earth. Jesus’ death on the cross paid for every wrong we’ve ever committed or will commit in the future. Jesus made it possible for us to have a relationship with God the Father. We are sinner from birth and need help, Jesus Christ is that help, our only hope.
Therefore by the deeds of the law (Ten Commandments) no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law our sins are recognized not saved.
We must confess (repent) of our sins and iniquities before Jesus Christ, at the foot of the cross daily.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, to His disciples that: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
I will not stand before The Great White Throne of God, my sins have been cleansed by Jesus Christ's crucifixion on the cross. And I am clothed in the righteousness of Christ of all my sins and iniquities before-today, today and forever.
I Love Jesus Christ and despite of the fact that I'm human and I fail Him daily, I pick up my cross daily and follow Him. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He was crucified on the cross where He died for my sins and inequities and that He rose again on the 3rd day to give me a way through salvation and sanctification, for my known and unknown sins. He loves me dearly and has forgiven me of my sins and inequities. His Word says that if I deny Him before men, He will deny me before His Father.
I believe are the greatest verses in God's Word. "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 NKJV)
I am a Christ-follower and live in the Kingdom of God on earth in Jesus Christ, my Lord, Savior and Leader. I have faith and trust in the grace and mercy of God for eternal life for my soul in Heaven when I pass from this life into paradise.
I proclaim this openly to the world, that I am sinner, that I am sorry for my sins and iniquities and repent of my sins and iniquities and receive Jesus Christ by faith into my heart, mind and soul as my Lord, Savior and Leader. I openly confess Him as Lord from this moment on, I want to follow Him, I pledge to obey Him daily, and read His word. I will include those in my prayers who are lost and have chosen to deny God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 NKJV)
I am in the “Lamb's Book of Life” and will not face “The Great White Throne of God” judgment which leads to Hell.
Jesus said: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and lean on Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29 KJV)
I believe God has accepted me and I'm not worried about the “The Great White Throne” judgment of God. I know that one day I will go to spend a glorious and fascinating eternity with God, Jesus Christ and other believing Christians who are in Heaven.
Jesus loves me unconditionally, and voluntarily and joyfully died on the cross on Calvary for my past, present and future sins, that's the heart of Christianity and why I am a Christian and not any other religion.
The grace and glory be to God. God bless

Actually, it is more of what God can’t allow himself to do and it is also the answer for the question of why does God let bad things happen. Many would readily and vehemently disagree, but God does not have an actual plan for the world. What he does have is hope for the world through his endowment of free will. God does not know the future, but he does know the infinite number of possibilities required for his gamble on ‘free will’ to succeed. Interfering with that would alter the delicate balance of the human condition equivalent of the ‘Goldilocks Effect’.

Hawking was an extraordinary person. But that does not mean he created the universe. He did not create and he just was able to figure or dare to assume what the friction of the big truth is about. It would be delusional if he insist he knows all truth behind phenomena that we encounter in the universe. Because as a scientist, he needs absolute evidence for everything.

Otherwise, we couldn't claim to be perfect, and we certainly would not (in good conscience) expect to be worshiped. I suggest that we have two choices. We can either believe that a creator created a plan where suffering exists in all forms of life ... or ... we can believe that suffering is natural, (survival of the fittest) ... because the universe always existed. The God who created by word with rational results (that is the creation was exactly in line with his word) encourages us that the creation is intelligible and can be investigated because we also have 'words'. We are persons, as is God, although finite and contingent, not self-existing and eternal. But we have the confidence, the faith, if you like, that we can meaningfully investigate anything in the material world and will thereby gain true knowledge of it. By contrast, evolution has given us 'vestigial organs', 'junk' DNA and the magic pond from which life emerged!
But back to the creation, the much vexed and misunderstood 'days' of creation serve a very real purpose. They not only place the creation in space-time history, connecting it with us, and showing God present, active and communicating in our world (God's domain overlapping our domain, or 'heaven and earth come together, as NT Wright puts it in a different context) but they place the creation in the real world, not a fantasy world that we have no access to. It is in real, concrete history and we can make sense of it in echo of it being created with rational causality!
This is our world, the world we directly know and in which we have communicative access to God (and do not have to deny it to putatively 'find' god or ourselves). It is the world we are created to 'govern': to explore, understand, inhabit and use.
No man-made religion has a 'creation' that gives the basis for faith in science, with their capricious limited deities, absent deities, non-personal 'gods'. 'Gods' who must make man as slaves or for companionship, or gods who struggle with evil or gods immersed in the cosmos.

Why believe in God in a scientific world? It is not a scientfic world sir, it is better discribed as a material one!
The TRUTH is revealed ONLY to those who have properly prepared to receive it those who love Him by obeying His commandments and it is RECEIVED PERSON to person, meaning that the TRIAD God delivers the knowledge personally to man just like he delivered Moses the Ten Commandments. [John 14:2] “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him”
    THE SOUL
The soul is everything for man, we could say that it is the life and the god of our clay body. God gave the soul the possibility to give to the body life, to govern it, to put it to rest, to embrace it with its warmness. Without the soul our bodies would have been clay ashes and dust. The substance of the soul is a logical spirit that is lightweight and very wise that is thin and very peaceful sweet and meek created with Grace and beauty on bodily parts that are invisible and decent that are liked precisely to God and to the multitude of his Holy Angels. In the beginning (at birth) all of the souls of men and women are even brighter that the moon and the sun however as time goes by the soul reshapes its self-according to its deeds. The souls of the virtuous are not have the same brightness they are not alike. They differ in brightness according to their deeds in order to acquire virtues through their obedience to God. The more they get closer to God the more they are irrigated by the Grace of God and become “a god by the Grace of God” through a part take with the Holy Spirit. The longer an iron is placed in the fire the more it becomes brighter and warmer, the same happens to men and women the longer they stay in the fire (the Holy Spirit) through temperance fasting vigil and praying as commanded by the Holy Spirit (Apostles) the brighter their face shines from their cleanliness and the brightness. [Acts 6:15] “And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.” The same thing but on the opposite happens to sinners. The souls given to infants are sustained immaculate during pregnancy however after being born if they start to sin they start to darken and the more they roll in sin they more they become black and they become like black smoke. A lot of souls when they separate from their bodies they look like they are wounded others look like they are hungry and others are dressed with rugs.

Agreed science can not provide the answers to the question of our origin or the meaning of our lives. He says religion addresses these questions. I would argue it is possible there is simply no answer to our origin and no meaning to our life. There is just our yearning. This is the burden of humanity, to want something unattainable. This feels like a very grim reality to me, but to leap from ‘science can’t explain it’ to ‘God can explain it’ is quite a leap indeed. There’s no evidence for it being true, other than anecdotal accounts and ancient writings made by more primitive people. Sounds like something that a theist made up. Theists like to make up a lot of things... like the bible, for instance. Now here is a real letter by Einstein:
      Princeton, 3. 1. 1954
      "Dear Mr Gutkind,
Inspired by Brouwer's repeated suggestion, I read a great deal in your book, and thank you very much for lending it to me. What struck me was this: with regard to the factual attitude to life and to the human community we have a great deal in common. Your personal ideal with its striving for freedom from ego-oriented desires, for making life beautiful and noble, with an emphasis on the purely human element. This unites us as having an "unAmerican attitude."
Still, without Brouwer's suggestion I would never have gotten myself to engage intensively with your book because it is written in a language inaccessible to me. The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weakness, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation, no matter how subtle, can change this for me. For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstition. And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong, and whose thinking I have a deep affinity for, have no different quality for me than all other people. As far as my experience goes, they are also no better than other human groups, although they are protected from the worst cancers by a lack of power. Otherwise I cannot see anything "chosen" about them.
In general I find it painful that you claim a privileged position and try to defend it by two walls of pride, an external one as a man and an internal one as a Jew. As a man you claim, so to speak, a dispensation from causality otherwise accepted, as a Jew the privilege of monotheism. But a limited causality is no longer a causality at all, as our wonderful Spinoza recognized with all incision, probably as the first one. And the animistic interpretations of the religions of nature are in principle not annulled by monopolization. With such walls we can only attain a certain self-deception, but our moral efforts are not furthered by them. On the contrary.
Now that I have quite openly stated our differences in intellectual convictions it is still clear to me that we are quite close to each other in essential things, i.e; in our evaluations of human behavior. What separates us are only intellectual "props" and "rationalization" in Freud's language. Therefore I think that we would understand each other quite well if we talked about concrete things.
With friendly thanks and best wishes,
      Yours,
      A. Einstein"

@@schmetterling4477 note - in that same letter - that Einstein expresses a high regard for Baruch Spinoza; listen to Spinoza in a letter to his friend, Henry Oldenburg, 1675:
"I do not think it necessary for salvation to know Christ according to the flesh: but with regard to the Eternal Son of God, that is the Eternal Wisdom of God, which has manifested itself in all things and especially in the human mind, and above all in Christ Jesus, the case is far otherwise. For without this no one can come to a state of blessedness, inasmuch as it alone teaches, what is true or false, good or evil. And, inasmuch as this wisdom was made especially manifest through Jesus Christ, as I have said, his disciples preached it, in so far as it was revealed to them through him, and thus showed that they could rejoice in that spirit of Christ more than the rest of mankind"
Who, I ask, can read the sermon on the mount and not acknowledge that it's the product of a sane, rational mind:

Actually, it is more of what God can’t allow himself to do and it is also the answer for the question of why does God let bad things happen. Many would readily and vehemently disagree, but God does not have an actual plan for the world. What he does have is hope for the world through his endowment of free will. God does not know the future, but he does know the infinite number of possibilities required for his gamble on ‘free will’ to succeed. Interfering with that would alter the delicate balance of the human condition equivalent of the ‘Goldilocks Effect’.
