- Hey Guys! welcome back to free clean Friday, were we find the rankest, dirtiest, and most unique patios and clean them free of charge for the owner.
In today's episode, we clean this super-weedy patio. The owners recently bought the property and have had me cleaning the windows since. but since iv known them they have had a pretty bad roof leak and a tonne of other issues so i decided to not only bring you guys a great clean but also help them out so they can enjoy summer free of charge!

Looks great. You should come back and do the deck and fences. It would make that backyard shine!
Unfortunately those decks are all rotten and going to be ripped up but the fences maybe get done in my next visit!
This would be a great two parter. Wash the wooden fence, decking and railing around the deck.
Unfortunately all the decking was completely rotten but we may be returning to do the fenceds
Sometimes the wall are forgotten only the floor are done cleaning

That was a nice kindness. The owners are already tackling a difficult renewal. Working on a large space, in this case the back patio, will give the sense of a large improvement and add to morale. The splatter wasn't just on you, that was quite a bit of washing down and "muck" pickup ahead, once you cleared the paving. A pleasant appearance when you were done. Thank you for your work, rain all.

Wonderful . My area paved is about 10 - 15 times this size but I try to do it regularly so it is not too bad. Even so i have to start up hill and there is just so much soil at the bottom, even despite regular weed killer. All of us including me need to have fewer not very good plants in pots in our gardens - they usually don't look very good and just clutter up the place.

It’s very hard to tell with something like this, due to the severity of the growth there is very likely a drainage issue on a deeper level so assuming we don’t have too much wet weather they should be good until at least winter

Incredible transformation! Great job being a miracle worker! I wish they'd had you do their fencing as it would have really improved the overall appearance of their yard. Fingers crossed that they call you back for a part 2 after they realize how beautiful it could be to complete the improvements.
Haha thank you! The decking and fences will be replaced soon as they are pretty rotten! But at least they can enjoy the patio until then ☺️

I think the garden will be having a makeover when the customers are ready but I just wanted to do something so they could enjoy their outside space for now ☺️

Hey mate im 2 mins in and noticed your machine doesnt sound right, it shouldnt be chasing like that when you're off the trigger and indicates either a leak on the suction hose going into your pump (drawing in air) or a leak before the trigger on the high pressure hose. Its going to cause serious damage if you allow that to continue for too long. Im gonna keep watching now :D

May I ask, a small garden, 8x 10 meter tiles, someone asked me 500 euro's in the Netherlands. That seems really expensive.. 😮
@watcheratnight1 yeh that is expensive I’d be around the £320 mark for that sized job
@@KirbsideCleaning we have so called travekkers in the Netherlands, they are offering Jobs to do at a very agressieve way. What you do er don't have yet overhere, some places you can rent a machine but that is too far away. You're a blessing. ❤️❤️

those bricks look like they never ever had SAND to be brushed in between the cracks to help with the weed problem

Muck is so thick , u need a stronger water jet to clear them ,some chemical for prevention of regrowth to some extent .

The fences and deck are pretty rotten and are going to be ripped out/replaced when the home owners get round to working on the outdoors

Can I ask why you didn't do the deck at minimum too? It was really moldy... As well as the fence.
It literally has a hole in it 😂 it’s properly rotten. They are ripping it out soon anyway! We don’t clean fences unless asked too, as in some cases they can be old and easily break under the pressure and in the Uk you usually only own one side of the garden fences so if I broke the neighbours fence I’d have been liable for costs on a job I was doing for free, I’d loved to have done more but as a business I have to chalk up time and money spent for these free jobs for videos and make decisions on what I can and can’t do. I hope you understand my position, I did clean the fences on an upcoming video though 😄😄😄
Did you put SH down after to stunt the regrowth?
Yes just not on camera as it was raining quite a lot on and off and with it being so bad I wanted it at max strength so came back to do it on a dry day
Just a question. Wouldn't it be better if you (before pressure washing) get rid of the topsoil and weeds/grass on the stones, while they are DRY (with weed eater or scraper) so as non to splash it all around when you're going to use the pressure washing? Otherwise you need more passes with more water to rinse out all that mess , leaving the yards muddy
It’s much quicker to clean up mess with the pressure washer than it would be to manually remove all the weeds by hand or wait two weeks for weed killer to act. Also I do these jobs for the video as well as to be kind so if it was Just a patio with no weeds it wouldn’t make such a good video
@@KirbsideCleaning Ok, I see that for you it's the quicker solution , in my opinion it's not the cleanest one . I didn't mean to remove the weeds by hand or with the killer. I thought that a mechanical weed eater, the ones with nylon string would be enough to remove all the weeds , then if you gather and collect all the dry debris, the rest of the job would be faster and cleaner
The majority of the muck isn’t the above ground weeds it’s the roots, dirt and sand from the cracks. You’d maybe have had 10% less dirt overall it wouldn’t have made a difference visually.

Hi Linda, It wouldn't have made the slightest difference to the amount of mess, as there really wasn't much surface debris to start with.
Out of interest how much would you normally charge for a job that size and how long does it actually take for you to complete it?
So this job would probably have been around £200/250 and take around 1-2 hours ish

Why wouldn’t they use weed killer first, then power wash it after a week?
It really wouldn’t make any difference to the end result
It was nice but the patio looks like it could do with the same thing

Doesn't look "done" to me. Lots of weeds still embedded around the edges. Dirty walls and fence. No sand to stabilize the pavers. etc. etc. Probably should apply a sterilizer because those roots are still there. There's still a few hours work there. I'd rather pay someone to do a complete job than get a free once-over. But that's just me.

I have an employee that resand these jobs a few days later once they are dry. Also bare in mind I done this for free so it all come out of my pocket, way to be positive though, all the best 👍
