    the stiff stick can be very easily remedied by taking the base off and either compressing the spring or adding washers to the screws (that attach to the plate) reducing the force applied by the spring. It'll still center to 0-0 x-y but wont pop off your desk when you move it around.

      Could you please elaborate on that? I'm getting this joystick next week and I know it's gonna be too stiff. Thanks!

    • @lazarusmagellan2367
      @lazarusmagellan2367 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ essentially, if you take the base plate off, you can unscrew the steel plate that holds the compression screw. As you unscrew r four screws holding the steel plate, the spring will decompress. Once you put the base plate back on, you will notice the stick is way less stiff. You’ll still have to treat the yaw spring but that just requires two pliers. Essentially, you take the actualy stick off by removing the (7?) screw holding the handle together. Once you take half the stick off, you can remove the yaw screw, and use pliers to stretch it past its maximum. Do this very slowly and incrementally so that it does not become too deformed. Once it’s been stretched, you can put it back and the yaw will be less stiff too. I did this to my turtle beach stick and it’s amazing now.

    The reason the rudder and throttle axis were mapped differently is because the game uses the old joystick axis layout standard.... And the Turtle Beach... wasn't.

    Solid review. I don’t think the tension will be an issue for me. It looks fairly ergonomic. Recently started playing msfs 2020 heavy and have been looking for a solid flight stick. Luckily Black Friday was right around the corner and I found it for $98 on Amazon. I’ll be testing it out tomorrow.

    Can't imagine getting this over the Gladiator NXT, so many bells and whistles, but the basics like the gimbal suck. I guess some of the features may be useful on xbox, but on PC I'd much rather have three high quality hat switches than a screen and a scrollwheel.

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s why I’ve returned to using the NXT after this review. You really can’t go wrong with those. The VO Flight stick is more versatile for sure but not in must have ways for me personally

    • @BluFrost8888
      @BluFrost8888 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just got my NXT today to replace my V1 stick and it's truly night and day difference. The grip on the V1 is surprisingly comfortable but putting downward pressure on the hand rest also causes it to lift up side by side and force the grip to the side. The NXT has a much more aggressive grip but it's absolutely perfect in its design for the hand you're using it on. Your can make your gripping force firm without tipping the stick over since it's extremely well balanced and weighted by the springs unlike the stiff single center spring and gimbal on the V1.
      The ministick I almost like more on the V1 because it's circular movement instead of rounded square corner movement on the NXT SCG Premium.
      But even with the extra unique features on the V1, the playabiliity is completely outclassed by the Gladiator for literally only $5 or $35 (to include ministick) more plus shipping.

    I just baught it two days ago and got it deliver maybe 1h before this video, after a few hour I have to say I’m more than please with it. The spring tension isn’t an issue at all to me, the input are pecise, the stick is ergonomical and the build quality is great, overall a great improvement other the Airbus TCA I had before. The only negative for me is the trackpad, It need to be improved with better reliability or replace all togather with a mappable button, hopefully firmware update will improve it

    • @FSElite
      @FSElite  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’m glad you’re finding it to your liking! It’s manageable for sure. It’s also going to come down to what you fly with it too. I certainly got used to it. Just didn’t like how the gimbal functions compared to what I had already. One of those things I think some will like or dislike.

    Hello everyone.
    I just got a Turtle Beach "VelocityOne Figlhstick" to play MSFS 2024 on my Xbox Series X. I can't figure out how to enable the little touchpad on the joystick and use it as a mouse.
    The touchpad would work fine, from TH-cam videos, on PC (by moving the mouse cursor on the screen), but not on Xbox.
    Some videos I've seen online show it was possible in MSFS 2020. (Additional info: the firmware on the joystick is 1.1.6).
    It would be handy for flying and you have to go into cursor mode to change anything on the EFB, but there's no way.
    Has anyone done this?

    I own this great joystick and have a question. Is there a way to mimic a long travel collective with curves in msfs? The left throttle are to sensitive and it is near impossible to hover due to the helicopter (cowansim 500e) going up or down. Can not hold the altitude.

    How tough is it to get a smooth landing with the springs being so stiff? I'm considering buying this since I'm pretty limited as an Xbox user, but I also don't want the actual handling to be worse than my HOTAS One. (HOTAS Ones are garbage by the way. They'd be great if they'd last, but they have jitter issue that arises after ~6 months, making flight pretty tough to deal with as your aircraft starts jittering left or right)

    • @andrew2272kag
      @andrew2272kag ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm here too. Don't like the throttle on the hotas either, that neutral notch makes me jump a third in either direction.

  • @Thunderbird1337
    @Thunderbird1337 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This stick has 2 big problems. One is the stiffness, which can be fixed (as others said). The other one is the very small movement angle of the stick. And that can't be fixed. Compared to my old Thrustmaster stick, the Velocity One has almost half the movement. This just feels bad if you are used to a good flight stick with a proper movement angle. It simply can't have the same precision if you need only half the stick movement for the same movement in the sim. I tried the Velocity One stick and returned it immediately. It has very nice features, but unfortunately that's all worthless if the stick fails completely in the most important points: Comfort/ feeling and precision. In my opinion a complete misconstruction.
