"How To" | Winter Blackmouth setup

The Puget Sound offers a great winter fishery for Chinook salmon. When it opens you can expect to find boaters trolling with downriggers on the edges of the contours of the sea floor. Getting set up and ready for this fishery is an easy thing to do. Take a look at some of the gear I like to use to have you prepared.

Scents for kings. Bloody tuna outfished all others down here in sf bay area. Trying Dr Juice salmon scent this season - the spray on version is more concentrated (called the guy).

Jigging and mooching are definitely two other techniques that can be productive. I will work on doing a video for those specifically

Do you troll plugs behind the flashers or by themselves?

I always run them by themselves. You can run a dummy flasher off the rigger ball

No need for flasher w the big plugs they throw plenty of vibration esp the rattle tomics.
