- I head out of Edmonds Marina to Jeff Head for some winter blackmouth chinook salmon. I show the flasher and bait I use to catch them. I also show you what I look for on the fish finder and how to target the salmon. I went out on March 22, 2022.

Beautiful 25 inch blackmouth chinook salmon! They are one of the best tasting salmon. Lots of good tips on how to catch these fish.

The first one was conservation and the second was coast guard. I have got them down to 140' where they are in the water column really depends on the day.

Thanks. It was 15 minutes but I think they were training a new guy. I get checked often because I always have different boats. 3rd time since the fall.

Thank-you. They check to make sure you have all your safety equipment. They also checked to make sure I had no warrants because I look sketchy. 😂.

I wonder if that first one was a spring ocean fish. Not just because of how fat it was but because it seemed to have a pretty pronounced hook nose
I am not sure. Salmonids are still new to me. All I know is what I can fish for / keep and how to get them.
