You are more at ease performing solo than most orchestra members in group. What a clear and perfect b flat clarinet tone! Perfect execution, and remember boys and girls, all by memory! Bravo. Words fail.
A number of commenters here seemed not to notice that the account holder was not the soloist. Ernst Ottensamer (if this was truly his own account) was a world-renowned Austrian clarinet soloist who became principal clarinetist of the VPO in 1983, and who passed away last year (July 2017) from a heart attack. However, he also passed on his genes to his two sons. His eldest son Daniel (who is playing here) became co-principal clarinetist with the VPO alongside his father, and his youngest son Andreas is principal clarinetist of the BPO. Not bad for one family. BTW, there is also a superb recording of this concerto by Ernst that was uploaded to TH-cam by the great classical uploader Addiobelpassato.
Yes, Ernst was a great clarinetist in his own right, and his early, sudden death was a tragedy. His recordings of all 4 Spohr concertos and the 2 Weber concertos on Naxos are remarkable, some of the finest clarinet playing ever recorded. Here is a link to Ernst's recording of the Weber Second Concerto that you mentioned: th-cam.com/video/dPdPL16lE0k/w-d-xo.html
+giandomenico galluzzi Hello the clarinet D.O is playing here is definetly not a Viennese model. It is a German model - to be percise a so called "Voll-Oehler-System" with a resonance-Bb-mechanism. But what ever clarinet: Great sound!!
But Markos Eridan wrote just above here in Spanish: "I have noticed that everyone here does what they think. Before the ending scale of the first movement they make a caesura that is not written and lacks continuity to the phrase."
Well, the conductor is Lorin Maazel (before he died), not Blomstedt, and the orchestra is obviously Japanese, probably the NHK Symphony Orchestra, not the Dresden Staatskapelle, but it IS Ottensamer the younger playing clarinet.
Hey, I like your photo: T__ts and clarinet! I like the clarinet a little better but the green outfit helps your figure. Are you real? PS: Ernst is sadly dead now. Great loss!
Random comment: if he actually had not played the highest note in 6:42, it probably would not have made any difference, I cant actually hear it. Oh, wait, is it written??? I play cello, and obviously don't know this concert. He is amazing.
Gorgeous, gorgeous job! Although I don't really like how the German system makes the top A and Bb sound like whistling... It just loses it's impact, I feel like it should be a triumphant top note, but it drops in dynamic very suddenly. Everything else though was brilliant :-)
Pyfacefornever Sir, perhaps before making judgments on the instrument, should try it right time, you can not make considerations of impressions that may depend on the audio recording
JustClarinet because it's a very subtile and quiet piece in which no one wants to be that person who coughs trough it. So basically they all save it up for the small break. : ^)

His tone is very centered and precise, and his phrasing of the melody is both emphasized and floaty like walking in the air. Very nice!!
Totally agree!

Bravo Maestro, performance extraordinary, full of ideas.
You are the keeper of the great tradition of Viennese clarinet admired by much of the world.

Thomas Rehm
that's not correct
ottensamer's clarinet is a Vienese model
Otto kronthaler is the luthier
@@thomasrehm1332 ok but this clarinet has the Wien bore (bigger about 15.00mm) so we call it German or Viennese?
The Conductor is the best. He got everyone playing together.
But Markos Eridan wrote just above here in Spanish:

OMG, she's really stunning!❤

lamaspacos. Did you ever play one of these Oehler system clarinets?- That helps.
@@phillipshearman5597 Many Thanks.
Those coughs after 1st movement though....Nice performance!
Ottima esecuzione e sonorità molto fluida. Complimenti

Omg... Ernst Ottensamer has a youtube account

Bin begeistert von Ottensamers Musik!
WOW Amazing.
The audience must've died during his playing only to not cough ^^
Random comment: if he actually had not played the highest note in 6:42, it probably would not have made any difference, I cant actually hear it.

He is amazing.
Erico Schmitt. Well it does not matter like you said. The notes just may not all be there but the music is!
I heard it but his top F is rather weak. Same with the first note.
Bravo!!! 👍👍👍
Great courtesy to name the orchestra and conductor. (Lorin Mazel)
Bravo!!
Bravo 🙌
Certifié intergalactique !

Brilliant performance and brilliant clarinetist. What orchestra is?

Eldar Axdegaew: Class, class and again class. (English equivalent).
Class,class,and once again class.(another equivalent).

Ins Musikgeschäft gehen und kaufen. Ist ganz einfach.
bravo
why they all started coughing after 2nd movement

Molto bene
