Everyone has their preferences (some locals even dislike it haha) but if you are looking for more sweeter ones, you could give 黑刺 ("Hak Chi" in cantonese, or Black Thorn in english) a try. It's known for it's orange flesh, creamy sweet flavor that is even better when chilled.
Ohh i love durian.. musang king is my favourite because the flesh is thick and the flavour more strong sweet and bitter taste..so creamy yummy.. you can put in freezer and eat half frozen.. so tasty!

If you like Udang Merah,you can try D13 also..the taste like Udang Merah but less bitter..Udang Merah is a devider for person who is first time trying durian..because after Udang Merah,you can find Musang King,Black Thorn,Tupai King are really strong durian..you also can try D13,D2,D24,Sultan,XO,D101(ioi)& Kampung Kahwin..all of these durian are in sweet & rich durian variety..also you can try Tekka or Teka (known as Musang Queen)..light taste than Musang King..

Black Thorn is kinda limited only in Penang if i'm not mistaken. So it is more expensive since it is limited in the market.

I alone can eat 1 to 2 durian then get fever 😅
Durian is cheaper this season though some durian breed might be affected by climate.. July till August will see more durian in the market because of nationwide durian trees gonna drop ripe durian fruit at the same time.
Do not easily tempted by Musang King. I much prefer the lighter taste durian like udang merah or IOI . Also i only like creamy and sweet so the bitter aftertaste a bit turn off for me.
I'm not sure if you eat durian you can eat or drink together with some other food or beverages example with milk.. you better check if there's anything your child can't consume if whilst he eats durians..
seriously...do not tempted with musang king every time ......thats was high level and only for hardcore....you cannot just skip the level.....try the lowest level durians 1st.....if you ask the seller they always want to sell the best durians which is musang king....everytime beginner do the same mistake...
