I have cut up a bag I got potatoes in. It was a netting type fabric and it can be used for a stencil. Different food bags have different effects too. I hope this helped someone for an idea. God Bless you Kelly! Love all your work, videos and ideas. You are my favorite gal.

I have done this for years. To me it is a lot more fun using things you have on hand. I even used chopsticks to make marks on my mixed media art journaling and on canvases. Thank you for the reminders. :)

love that someone finally demonstrated the use of "trash" items in crafts/ journaling. I have black trash bags full of "found" objects that I use for all kinds of things. I saw a video earlier where a person spent money for a "pulling" tool to move fingernail polish across water!! I cringed! tooth pick...chopstick..duh! LOL love this.

I use to love going to auctions and getting grab bags. Our dollar store use to do the grab bags when I was little. They don't now where I am from. I am the only one in my family that loves crafting. my grandma who passed away instilled her love of crafting from recyclables. She loved painting beach scenes. I hate to throw stuff away too u never know when u will find a use for it. I don't drive and I have hard time getting to the store plus money is tight. so I have to use recyleables. I love your enthusiams and personality. Keep up the videos. Maybe one day ill be lucky and receive a grab bag from u and can return the favor to u too. Thank you

Hi Kelly! I so loved this video because we are so similar in our thinking! I just used several of these items for my session 3 of Journaling by 5's. I love craft items, but just can't bring myself to spend lots of money on store bought stencils because they are literally pieces of plastic! I think it is also so good for your brain to think about different uses for things as well. Thank you for all the wonderful videos you post! ~Maureen

I am laughing my buns off over here! My fiance sometimes lingers behind me when a video has a cute girl demonstrating a technique or whatever but this time,he and I watched this entire video together!I laughed so hard at your silly comments and your saving anything that may be of use to craft . When you said,"Who doesnt like a free blow,?",my fiance snickered and said "Wow ,...sounds like you." LMAO! We both save everything, from bubble wrap to cupboard liner and we both say whatever comes to mind haha laugh at my mouth or go on with your life,I say! I have always given away most anything needed to most anyone in need and I frequently remind people that we are all in our own way ,soldiers in arms ,fighting on our own but if we interlock the arms, together we are an army!

Also don't overlook using old makeup that you may pitch....eyeshadows, lipsticks, brow pencils, eyeliners, solid foundation, etc. You can't really use makeup for ALL types of arts & crafting, but just to have some additional colors to use in your art journals would be fun and could save you some bucks. Also check out thrift stores for donated craft supplies. These items are usually used or are old, (re: paint may be dried out)so it's hit or miss. But I've gotten some decent stuff for very little money before.

I love reusing things! My husband teases me and calls me a hoarder b/c I hate to through any thing away! I tell him I can reuse it! We went to Lows Saturday to look for paper tape for repairing holes in walls but they did not have any. I was surprised! All they had was the plastic type so I got that. But I really wanted the paper so I could make my own punchenella! I had seen a video on this.. Lindsay "The Frugal Crafter" had done it. I figured of all places lows would have the stuff but they did not and know one knew what I was even talking about. Guess they don't make the paper tape any more for fixing the holes. I am going to see what kind of texture I can get with the plastic tape. Have not been feeling too well the last few days so I have not been doing to much but catching up on some older videos that I have missed. Like this one here! I did do some water coloring just using my Crayola Markers and a Butterfly stamp in my art Journal. That was fun to do! Hugs & God bless!

Southern Angel Btq. Tammy Dameron Hi Tammy! I just saw your comment and wanted to respond because I know they still sell the paper tape. People at home improvement stores often have no clue where or what things are sadly. You need to ask for drywall tape. It should be in the section where the drywall and the drywall mud is sold. It is used for taping joints between sheets of drywall. We are renovating my house and I just bought a roll myself. If you ask them to direct you to the drywall mud/compound section you should find it right there.

Sophia Street Studio Sadly we went back 2 x and they did not have it! I had 4 people that worked there looking for it and they got on the computer looking too. Nothing! I don't know if they were out of it or what but the only dry wall tape they had was not what I was looking for. it was paper tape but did not have the holes in it. I have never even seen punchenella before and that is what I was trying to make that.

I resell and ship...thank the quantum field (and you!) for something else to do with all the blasted bubble wrap and cardboard that's constantly infiltrating my life. I simply I refuse to buy one of those stupid giant bubble wrap rolls or any sort of shipping supplies. I honestly think it's one of the dumbest things possible considering how easy to find, cheap, and convenient it is to reuse. (*Added bonus: i feel slightly better about myself for not being a ocean killer.)
So of course this video is right up my alley:) perfect for mini TY cards.. if I could I would send you one lol. Perfect 🙂
