Sandra Rettich does this beautiful technique. She uses pigment drops, which I'm not sure what that is. Her blooms are so beautiful and unique.

So one thing you have to remember is that the effect in the edges is going to depend on the backing colour. The clear 'lip' is obviously reflecting showing the black and really making the crushed glass pop, but in future, if you do different things/colours just keep in mind that the clear will do that. Its a pain to only fill the edges with a colour, but sometimes it's worth it if you have a certain design in mind. (I'm sure everyone would be fine if you did that off camera or before you film lol because obviously that's a time consuming step to add.

Absolutely YES it did need the glass around the edges!! It would of looked really plain without out them! They tie in sooo good with the center of the flowers!! It is PERFECT the way you did it! I wouldnt cbange a single thing about it!! Thats for sharing hun!! 😊😊
I agree, she could even do a clear coat before dropping the glass in, or even skip all that and make a dark rim to match the background.
I love it!!! The blooms on the trinket tray are so beautiful. I'd love to see you try more of these using colors like pink and purple and maybe green and yellow. Just an idea.

Your little trinket tray is gorgeous. I love the pale lavender blooms; they’re so delicate and wispy, lavender is one of my favorite colors. The Piggy mica color is lovely too, adding that to the black and getting those wonderful striations enhanced the blooms beautifully! Once again.. well done Julie!❤
