- To celebrate its 20th year in the West End, the cast of Disney’s The Lion King open the Olivier Awards 2019 with Mastercard.
A stage adaptation of the iconic animated film, Disney’s The Lion King is the sixth longest-running musical of all time, and has been seen by over 15 million people. Nominated for eight Olivier Awards when it first opened in 1999, this spectacular stage production is not to be missed.

I never could get over how incredible the costume designs were. This is a show that makes me appreciate how people make such beautiful things. Things that make you forget how hard life can be if only for a moment.

@@iMsOiNsO she wasn't good but I think people need to acknowledge that she's a 10 yr old and that the responsibility falls on the adult casting director who engaged in nepotism and gave her the role. Children don't have the same self-awareness and morality that we adults have, so I absolutely blame the casting director and/or her parents
@@hannahw7023 me as well…but in a way I don’t feel people are criticizing north per say but ANY child in THR spotlight should be open to criticism. If not every kid sto should be on broadway and in shows. I remember seeing a sign that a football coach put up. “Uncoachable kids become unemployable adults” doesnt mean they are giving hatred towards the child but just wants them to do better. If she was in this she should’ve been taught better but the way she talks to her mother ik she is already thinking she’s above all. Her mother is too blame until no doubt. But at a certain age when North will receive all the hate randomly when she’s older and people justify it as well she’s of age now that’s when it looks bad to me. Let her know NOW she needs to work on this Kraft and can’t be handed just anything.
I am glad i chose Lion King as my first broadway experience. The voices, the music, the costumes, the energy are perfect!

I've seen this 6 times over the years twice in one week here In Ireland and will always be as excited to go again . The most amazing show ever production , actors singing and the animals bring me to tears its so moving and perfect . Congratulations for what will always hold a special place in my heart ❤❤

Absolutely amazing! Saw it at NYC with my boyfriend. It's so moving and when this came on in the beginning of the show "circle of life" I cried ❤ a experience I'll never forget
First time I saw intro in Johannesburg in 2007, I could not believe what I saw, the ads was the king returns home. It was so fit thanks to Lebo M and all the south African culture. Hans Zimmer is a genius, Lebo M as well and the choreographer could not be better !

I have seen the live performance twice in the UK. Wow the whole cast brought the film to life. The actors told the story. The singing blew us back and made us listen. Just a perfect show.
Makes me proud to be African, in Nigeria we may not have all these cool animals but there’s something we share as a continent it’s beautiful seeing it represented on the international stage ❤

I saw live performance in Singapore before. It's totally worth that SGD$200! That moment when they sing that song, it touches me deeply, I literally cried out of happiness.
I saw the tour of Lion King and when they start answering back, I think everyone in the theater got chills.

i saw this for my 12th birthday! it wasnt on broadway, but it was at my local theater district. It was just as magical and amazing tho! I love anything and everything lion king!

they don't even use mics, such powerful voices absolutely love it!
All the lead singers will be wearing mics. Some of the ensemble might not be here because of the venue, but in the real show every single person on stage will be wearing a mic.
