There are many comments like your's in his video's comments sections.. just search "tech deals [whatever monitor or tech product you're searching for]". He doesn't review many monitors but I think you may find his videos of the same quality
pcmonitors.info and tftcentral.co.uk are both very thorough as well. Lots of great info at displayninja too, plus Rob is very helpful with specific questions and timely replies. Other than that I would mostly agree.

@@Yshtola. Agree! I was looking at the 850 for a while, but this one showed up, is cheaper, and apparently has very few things different. I can calibrate it myself and don't need a USB hub.

I don't need a new monitor. I just like listening to the cadence of this guy's voice. It's soothing white noise before I go to sleep. Rtings always gives solid reviews though.
In my opinion this monitor is PERFECT for the cost! Very great input lag and response time for some real heavy fps actions, it almost feels like cheating. I had many monitors before but this one is just the best for me. I also had the 850, but after 1 hour of using it, it started to hurt my eyes badly because of the nano ips, especially when reading text which I do a lot for work. Text did not look very sharp, so I had to do adjustments in the settings and also brightness lowering, but still hurting my eye's. I cannot deny that the colors are better, which is logic. Overall the 83A is just good enough compared to the 850. Of course, it has glow that is just typical IPS, and yeah dark area's does not look that dark. But a perfect monitor does not exist, so it is not a big deal to me.
Ratings you guys just go straight to the point and well you have my respect for no bs and only honest reviews. Thank you for making these videos for us consumer.

Bought mine for $499 Canadian. Used it for couple of weeks. Amazing monitor. Beat my old 144hz Asus TN panel. IPS ruined TN panels for me now. Can't go back. Colours and brightness aren't the same anymore. Games as well

@@kevdigs930 Yes, everything works exactly as expected! No fuss and turning g-sync on was 30 seconds for finding the option in the Nvidia settings. AdaptiveSync was turned on by default on the monitor.
This monitor still has a pretty good reputation judging from the 11000+ customer reviews on Amazon, I just grabbed one of these today at 60%off plus an extra 10% at checkout. It should be here this Sunday. Although this video is old, it is still helpful today.
Everywhere I’ve checked in the UK the 83 seems more expensive than the 850, still went for the 83 as many on reddit had said it was better, plus this review! Thanks man :-)

I have what’s essentially the VA 32” version of this monitor and it’s been really great. I just received a second Dell monitor today that IPS with 240hz refresh rate, and I gotta say: I think the LG looks better. Watching this makes me want to send the Dell back in exchange for this monitor as my secondary. For people wondering: I use my monitors for double duty, so one is a portrait mode code screen for work and the other for everything else. I’ve used one monitor forever, and I finally decided I needed a second screen.
@@RTINGSdotcom I went a little bit of a different route. I sent the dell back and got an LG 27GP950-B, and it’s an excellent monitor!! Blown away with it, and it doubles as both my gaming monitor and I use one of the other outputs to connect to my Mac mini as well! The things I’ve seen in reviews regarding setting the response time to “fast” instead of “faster” are true: you get a little inverse ghosting on the faster setting, so I just set it to “fast”. I can definitely tell a difference in the input lag. The LG is better IMO, but also a completely different monitor from the Dell S2522HG, so I could see why someone would get the Dell for their budget. It’s a great monitor !

I was fortunate enough to have the GL850, GL83A and new GN850 all at the same time to evaluate. The GL850 and GN850 have identical color range with the exception of the GN850 not having the additional USB ports. The GL83A covers the SRGB color palette and is $70 less than the GN850 and $120 less than the GL850. I actually prefer the color s on the GL83A more so that is the one I decided to keep. Absolutely love the panel
Damn the 27GL83A makes my 27GL850 seem like a huge ripoff, 200$ more for 4% more SRGB coverage, 2 USB ports and a DP cable? Not to mention that the video's GL850 seemed to perform considerably worse in terms of contrast ratio.
Both have the same panel, but the backlighting is different. The 27GL83A is for sRGB only, whereas the 27GL850 covers almost the entire DCI-P3 gamut. That's a big deal if you work with color. The price difference between the two models in my country is $30 however.
@@CoDEmanX47 In Europe the price difference is insignifiant, the 27GL850 costs even less ! Also, the QC of the 83A seems worse than the one of the GL850. I see more 83A users complaining about uniformity or IPS glow than GL850 users.
you can scratch the DP Cable off the benefits list for GL850. I bought the GL83A last week form amazon here in US and it came with both HDMI and DP cables.

@@MrEnky007 The problem with OLED has and will always be Image retention. For a static desktop or home page on a gaming console this means potential burn in. Most of us are buying these for gaming of some kind because of the fast response times, low input lag, high refresh rate, and added HDR even if it isn't spectacular. Also any OLED monitor of this size would cost at least 2-3x more than most monitors out today.

Had trouble deciding between the LG 27GL83A or the Pixio.... went with the LG and i'm glad I did. I was very set on the Pixio, but considering the base price of the GL83 is cheaper, I think it is worth if for fast paced gaming. I still wish the Pixio had a better response time, i'd buy that one too!
As of 7/19/20 (Sunday) 2:50PM ET the LG 27GL83 is back in stock on amazon and marked down to $344. It is constantly going out of stock and having its price raised (sometimes to over $500). With the arrival of next gen consoles, I recommend any who are genuinely interested in this monitor to make your move if it’s marked down and in stock. This is coming from someone who has been struggling to catch it on a day where it’s in stock and normal price for over a month now. EDIT: it now says it will be in stock Aug 24 (price still $344 though)
I picked this over the G7 Odyssey I preordered (I REALLY wanted curved) but based solely on the fact that Samsung support is abysmal (I actually tested this for myself)! Arrives tonight.
@@PC--iv5go I took pictures with my phone but it DRASTICALLY exaggerates the bleed. I don't notice it in-game or while playing videos just when the desktop is blank and has a black background (I hide the icons with Stardock Fences). Any other color background I don't see the bleed at all! The clarity of this monitor really improved my Warzone gaming.
No regrets getting this monitor. Nothing has looked so good while gaming. There is a backlight bleed but I can only see it if my desktop is black and I look at an angle. Do wish it had USB throughput. I am noticing motion blur if I spin around in Warzone. I wonder if that's because of the game rather than the monitor as I have all blur settings turned off?

I feel the same way ... definitely not worth the extra 200$ and my GL850 has a lot of backlight bleed and some color uniformity issues :(

The gl850 has a wider color gamut. I think that's the only difference in specs-

As of 7/19/20 (Sunday) 2:50PM ET the LG 27GL83 is back in stock on amazon and marked down to $344. It is constantly going out of stock and having its price raised (sometimes to over $500). With the arrival of next gen consoles, I recommend any who are genuinely interested in this monitor to make your move if it’s marked down and in stock. This is coming from someone who has been struggling to catch it on a day where it’s in stock and normal price for over a month now. EDIT: it now says it will be in stock Aug 24 (price still $344 though)

I picked this over the G7 Odyssey I preordered (I REALLY wanted curved) but based solely on the fact that Samsung support is abysmal (I actually tested this for myself)! Arrives tonight.
@@PC--iv5go It's the best monitor I've ever had but if you look at it at an angle you can see a ton of backlight bleed but only at an angle.
@@PC--iv5go I took pictures with my phone but it DRASTICALLY exaggerates the bleed. I don't notice it in-game or while playing videos just when the desktop is blank and has a black background (I hide the icons with Stardock Fences). Any other color background I don't see the bleed at all! The clarity of this monitor really improved my Warzone gaming.

No regrets getting this monitor. Nothing has looked so good while gaming. There is a backlight bleed but I can only see it if my desktop is black and I look at an angle. Do wish it had USB throughput. I am noticing motion blur if I spin around in Warzone. I wonder if that's because of the game rather than the monitor as I have all blur settings turned off?
