@@KingDeadMan It's weed. That's broadly similar to how one might roll a joint or a blunt, folding one edge in then rolling the paper/wrap around your weed.
Help my dog is literally soo cunning. He only shakes it when I have an actual fooood on my hand. And wouldn't shake or shakes lazily if i dont hold any food
My guy learned how to shake by himself. Literally just put my hand out and he was doing it. Had him sitting on command his first day at home at 10 weeks.
Same here. I have a Blue Heeler and when she came home as a puppy, she was giving out her paw to everyone who outstretched their hand. By the time she was five months old, she knew the basic commands. She’s was a quick learner.
Our dog will get super pissed and even growl over unsolicited paw touches. But she'll more than happily give them to you if you ask for them, especially if she thinks there's any chance she'll get a treat. It cracks me up. 😂
Ours is very expressive with her paws, so you get them even when you don't want them. Can't touch them without the command though, she gets super pissed about unsolicited paw touches, but the second you give the shake or paw command she'll happily hand the corresponding paw ("shake" right, "paw" left) right on over lmao
I just hold the treat there until they inevitably paw at it. Once they do that consistently , i say “high five” or whatever command you chose. Worked like a charm
Never thought about doing it that way, but we've had good luck anyway. I always took Pomeranians to be idiots, but we wound up rescuing one from being put to sleep, and she might be the smartest most adaptable dog I've ever had among a lab, a pit, and an AusShep. She "shakes" with right paw, "paws" with her left, speaks on command, stands up on her hind legs, spins in place, and rolls over, not to mention obedience commands like come, sit, and stay. Only took us a few months, and she's even an older dog. Kind of blows my mind.
One of my Samoyeds is super lazy and didn’t understand the assignment at first. Then I realized he really likes it when you aggressively tell him “High five!” and throw down a hand. That’s how I get him to shake. He does it *instantly* and he’s always so hyped to do it, no treats required 😂
I taught that with my new puppy. The very first time I called my well trained sons dog over called my pup. I had a treat and told Roxy ( my sons dog)to sit Roxy sat then I told Ella sit. She looked at Roxy and then sat. Did the same first time with shake and for not ever running out the front door. dogs are the very best teachers in the world. Two of the best dogs ever. Miss them both soooo much.
I don't have a husky, but I believe I'm going to try this with my dog. She's a Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix. Smart as a whip, but she hasn't got shake down yet. This looks like a great method to teach the command.
Huskies are actually pretty easy to learn how to shake because they always do a pawing motion when they want attention or when playing. Also my husky paws at my other pets and it looks like she’s petting them
My Blue Heeler already came with this paw function when she came home as a puppy. Four years later, she’ll still give you her paw if you hold out your hand.
This is how it went with mine. Basically i picked her paw up and said "shake" and gave her a treat. I did this like 5 times and then i just said "shake" and didn't grab her paw, and she started doing it on her own. it took like 30 seconds for her to learn
If u hold ur hand out to your dog a lot of the time they stretch their body and scratch ur hand. I call it gentleman because he does it for the great inside my hand. It’s easy to teach and looks more complicated than paw and it’s super cute.
I taught mine just by telling them to sit and give me both paws when I'm serving their food, all of that by showing them each time until they understood what it meant. In addition, they can't eat until I tell them to do so

when they don't get it with their tongue, they get frustrated and use their paws, I rewarded that and he learned pretty fast.
This is educational. This probably works on any dog breed. 🐕
