    So, just like the Khaleesh, the Dugs were absolutely shafted by the Republic, and lost their home to invaders that the Republic decided they liked more than the natives of their worlds. It's a wonder the Dugs never turned Separatist.

    The fact is the Galaxy is a massive place and that means that the Republic had probably hundreds of thousands of different species that make up the Republic, and make no mistake that the Republic was going to make certain people or species in a subsidized minority and were going to be ignored or used by them, because the Republic was too massive and had too many needs to help all its citizens as it should have.

      I think there were a million worlds or species. The senate had more than 25 thousand members or representatives. Often for a region . Padme didn't just represent naboo. But every world in that sector. For example.

      Having a massive banner as the Republic did at its height isn’t a bad thing. The issue lies in a proper system with management that just can’t be half-ass for something so big and important. The loopholes that were never patched became the foundation of the Republic’s downfall, giving corruption the place to take root. The Sith used this to their advantage and Sidious became Emperor thanks to exploitation. If he wasn’t there, the Separatist Movement would have been resolved through talk and giving those worlds what they want instead of open warfare that bloated the desire for results over victory that were harbored in many of the Senators that made up the Republic.

    I always wondered about why the Dug’s were built the way they were but I had a recent though make sense of it
    Suppose their ancestors were arboreal, with long, strong arms for swinging through tree branches while their feet were used to grabbing and handling food. When they evolved a terrestrial lifestyle, their arms were better built for supporting their weight while their feet were already suited for manipulation, leaving the arrangement we see today as the logical conclusion

    Okay so here's my question the Dugs were allowed into the Republic and a base was set up on the planet so ships could refuel and stuff. Then the Gran invade the planet but the Republic supports the Gran, so why did they support the people invading the planet that gave them fuel? Were the Dugs overcharging the Republic for the fuel or were they just that big of jerks to work with that the Gran seemed better?
    Also, since you mentioned them here, how about a video on the Gran species next?

    • @michaelandreipalon359
      @michaelandreipalon359 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably because the Gran had more leeway on the Senate and the Republic infrastructure, I guess, since the Dug were not that mean spirited back in those days.
      Like two sides of the same coin, you're right. A Gran video would be a nice next topic.

    • @delsinlarson9160
      @delsinlarson9160 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As the other comment mentioned they probably had more control of the infrastructure than the Dugs did but I also think a lot of dirty money was passed around and some favors called in by the Gran to get the votes they needed to get their way of things.

    • @zexalbrony4799
      @zexalbrony4799 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@michaelandreipalon359 So I guess if they didn't support the Gran, regardless whether or not the price of fuel would increase or decrease under their leadership, they would lose access to other valuable resources probably worth more than the fuel.
      Yeah. I'd like to know more about the species as the only named one I even know of is the one who was Senator in Episode 2, Ask Aak, a well know Palpatine kiss-up.

    • @zexalbrony4799
      @zexalbrony4799 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@delsinlarson9160 Yeah, those probably were also factors. As great as democracy is, especially compared to other terrible forms of government like the Empire, that's one of its major problems. Because everyone has a vote or voice, many people can band together for various reasons, some because they are loyal and friends with other Senators and just want to be good and loyal by supporting them, others because they are returning a favor either to get out of debt or because they are honorable and always return the favor, or some just vote on it because there neutral in all this and just voted for what they think wold benefit them the best. I can at least partially respect the loyal and honorable ones, the others not so much.
