You know you’re a successful space-faring species when you’ve been doing it so long that a whole separate species evolves. Not only that but the Duro and Neimoidian’s were consistently influential throughout galactic history
I guess we are all on the. same page here trying to answer one of the most important question of both universes: Are Duros actually based on Grey (gray) aliens? Are. they the Greys of the SW universe who abucted humanoids BEFORE the Rakatan Empire?
in the legends it is mentioned that humans colonized millions of planets and their population was around 42 Quadrillion, perhaps the Duros or Abednedos have a similar population.
If they had a similar population like the humans in the galaxy, why is there a lack of Duros in Star Wars stories? There are far more Twilek than there are Duros. I would say Humans and Twilek are the success story of the galaxy, be it intentionally or unintentionally, with them being almost everywhere and part of almost every event in galactic history.
@@Bionickpunk We see Twileks a lot because they're often involved in underworld business(willingly or not), and Star Wars has a tendency to take place more in seedy, criminal environments. We also don't go into the core(which they and their colonies are from) often, which probably makes Duros less common; and of course, a pretty significant portion of the Duros population is taken up by their offshoot Neimoidians, who we do see a lot.
According to the Duros mythology, their race was born as a result of a union between a noseless wizard and a Mantis Goddess, who consumed the noseless wizard while also mating with him.
One of the few great species on par with humanity's achievements. Them, the Chiss, and Humans are really the greatest species in all of Star Wars, and the stuff in Legends is a great showcase as to why. Not my absolute favorite, Chiss hold that honor, but I really love the Duros.
I find it funny how the Duros are one of the few species to end up in a better position after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion with the Vong cleaning up their polluted homeworld and turning it into a lush paradise.
🤔 . . . I do ponder if baby Cad Bane, i.e. larval Cad Bane, had whiskery stubbles around his mouth, which actually functioned more like cat whiskers in order to find food than something stylish. Same with female Duros with head hair; they’re actually some sort of sensory focused organ, primarily for keeping their nests safe & such…
The Duros: the most successful species and travelers of the entire galaxy far far away in a long time ago Also the Duros: the ancestors of the cowardly Neimoidians and Cad Bane (the most brutal, meanest and most efficient bounty hunter of all of "Star Wars")
'Which hairstyle would you like to see on Cad Bane?' 10 foot tall rainbow mowhawk, that's probably what he's hiding under that hair. Or maybe some gorgeous blond locks? Maybe he's worth it. Maybe it's maybelline!
Eh, I’d call those games some thing to be sure, but janky? Nah. Theyre beautiful and get the art etc perfect. They’re well made games…just by an absolutely profit driven and soulless publisher.
The Duros are actually reputable explorers and hyperlane mappers. They have every reason to resent being called Nemoidiots. I would resent being told I looked like a money-grubbing, space-corporate, ass clown, too...
Damn bro, they're firm at 10% interest for any kind of loan, under any circumstance, assuming you pay it back all at once, otherwise it could be more? That's rough.
The Gree did that too. But then they just chilled out and forgot how they did all that fancy stuff back in the day. They're also quite nonhumanoid in their look. Molluscoid. And might not value stuff like ambition in the same human like way. Being more like a eusocial caste based creature. Its kind of like if a cambrian creature developed intelligence as an evolutionary freak accident. But still remained a weird living fossil.
Were asking about hairstyles now. Oh who I am kidding, the questions this great channel asks don't really surprise me that much anymore, I've become partially desensitized to them. And to answer the question, I think a spike-haired mohawk would up Cad's badass factor by a few points.
Saying Neimoidians and Duros are a different species is like saying Black and white people are different species. They have 70,000 years of divergence as opposed to only a mere 25,000 years.
You know you’re a successful space-faring species when you’ve been doing it so long that a whole separate species evolves. Not only that but the Duro and Neimoidian’s were consistently influential throughout galactic history
Facts, they've been going about their own thing and adapted to form 2 cousin species
I get the feeling Geetsly's is going to feature this comment in a future video.
If successfulness is determined by cousin species humans are still in the win.
I just realized that the Duros clearly resembled the look of the classic extraterrestrials you’d see for the 1960s to perhaps the 70s.
I had a similar realization.

@@HHLucifer666for whatever reason, I read your comment in the voice of Spike Spegal.

The funny thing is that the species from ET is canon to the Star Wars universe.
Geetslys: “duros produce a oil that tastes bad”
My dumb ass brain: “who the f&$k is tasting this stuff?”
Imagine if a Star Wars alien would come up to you, lick the sweat of your armpits and then look at you with disappointment.
Imagine if Cad Bane popped his hat off and he was somehow hiding a disproportionately massive afro
Well, it's better than any of Kathleen Kennedy's ideas, so I'm on board 😂
His hat's so big it has its own weather system
I said he probably has a giant rainbow mohawk (perfect for gay pride), or gorgeous blond locks like Rapunzel, but Afro was my number three idea haha

Twileks are obviously pretty close to humans, seeing as the 2 can interbreed.
It probably has something to do with the mother machines DNA tampering on belsavis
When I was young, I thought Cad Bane's species was Nemoidian and thought finally a cool Nemoidian. Then I was proven wrong.
No neimoidians for you I'm afraid
A long held theory I've had is that The Chiss are a hybrid between humans , and Duro.
From what I know Chiss are just humans that got separated, isolated and adapted.

I like cad bane. I wish they would add more about yodas species it is still shrouded in mystery.
The Infinite Empire didn't start until 36,000 BBY so it couldn't have been 100,000 years ago.
And besides, the Rakata are known to be liars, especially seen in the Supernatural Encounters novella.
This is def the best star wars related channel, appreciate this old schoolish vid
Dude you might wanna also take a look at the Chris’s in legends. Especially against the Vong and other threats in the unknown regions
Shame they feel a bit too underused even in Legends. Guess they're hard to write on well.
