    2:58 Hey! Wookiees don't get THAT angry. They have whole cultural inhibitions against wanton anger, at least, on Kashyyyk itself, anyway. If they DO get angry, well, you might have genuinely pissed him/her off somehow, and now, you're at their mercy. Let's hope it isn't a madclaw you have to face.

      I wonder how many examples of spider people that are actually pretty ok there are in fiction? Cause I can't think of many (right this instant: none, and no, Spiderman doesn't count, as there isn't a population of em running around) examples of spider people in fiction that are, generally speaking, pretty alright. Which leads me to speculate that fiction writers must have some pretty decent overlap with people who suffer from arachnophobia, cause where are all the chill friendly spider folk at? Surely, this is something that must be remedied immediately! Cause it would be a funny subversion of a lot of expectations...and I am enough of a jerk to enjoy the prospects of friendly spider people being nope fuel for those with a fear of the funny eight legged mosquito removal service providers, just cause their voice is very prominent and loud in fiction.

    Yeah, it’s members like me that make me anti-CIS. Sure, species like the Aqualish and Zygerrians only make up part of the Separatists, but it just tells me that the Republic wasn’t evil, but in a very moral grey area. They weren’t just and humane enough to care for several members, but they were also at times too good and heroic for other members. If there’s one thing every Separatist member at least has in common besides opposition to the Republic, it’s wanting a reboot in galactic politics. Just for very different reasons. And it just goes to show how the Sith formed the CIS only to push the Republic to become an empire. Democracies, tyrants, corporations, and more all pushed together. All the decent Separatists we’ve seen after the war would have to not just contend with Dooku and the Separatist corporations, but the pirates, criminals, and small empires also in the CIS. Think of the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War where some worlds didn’t join the New Republic, but worse.

    • @BRad-cq9px
      @BRad-cq9px ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I know mustafar was basically a seperatist facility/hideout. In the clone wars season 2, we see sidious using it as a home for captured force sensitive babies and in ROTS it’s where the CIS leaders are sent to hide. At least in legends the planet was originally a beautiful place until a Jedi mistakenly pulled it out of orbit while using the force to dispel some sith. So we can infer that since then it’s been uninhabited and so the republic had no use/interest in it. It seems like the seppies tended to choose wastelands for their bases.

    The Republic may have been responsible for Ando's secession, but this is one of the times where the ones seceding to join the CIS were in the wrong. The Aqualish that tried to exterminate and force the Free Colonies under their rule were in the wrong to do that, and this is one of the times where the Republic did good, going in and saving the Free Colonies and stopping the bloodshed. Despite the many, and I do mean many, flaws and failures of the Republic, it wasn't completely being hope as there were still many in it doing good, from some Jedi to some Senators, and later some Clones, and we see it on display here where they helped to save the Free Colonies. That's why I still support the Republic, despite its many flaws, while it was corrupted there were still a decent amount of people, some of which had at least a decent amount of influence to actually accomplish some things, trying to do good and actually protect people and their rights. While many in the CIS had legitimate reasons to want to leave the Republic, Ando and their Aqualish were not one of them, much like the Trandoshians, they only joined the CIS because it would allow them to continue their brutal campaigns against those they hate that the Republic actually decently tried to protect from their campaigns, the Free Colonies for the Aqualish and the Wookies for the Trandoshians, which also why the Free Colonies and the Wookies stayed with the Repulibc, despite its flaws it was at least decent at helping and supporting them when they were in trouble, unlike some CIS worlds they didn't help who again unlike Ando and Trandosha had legitimate reasons to leave the Republic because it wasn't helping them like it was some of their other worlds like Kashyyyk and the Free Colonies.
    Also, would you consider doing a video on the Clone Wars battle that battle in the Free Colonies?

    • @kingorange7739
      @kingorange7739 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting assessment my friend. It is interesting how in this case it was the core government that completely sided with the CIS rather than the group that representing its people better.

    • @zexalbrony4799
      @zexalbrony4799 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kingorange7739 Yes it is. If there's one thing the Clone Wars showed us, it's how complicated war can be. You have CIS members who joined because the Republic was actively hurting them and being cruel, like with New Plympto, but you also had worlds like Ando and Trandosha that joined because the Republic was actually doing the good and right things by stopping or opposing their cruelty so they joined the CIS because it would let them get away with stuff the Republic wouldn't. So there are both heroes and villains on both sides. The people of New Plympto and the Republic forces that aided the Free Colonies and Wookies being the heroes and the Republic forces that cut off New Plympto's trade, the Ando people, and the Trandoshans being the villains.

    I’d love to hear another deeper one about the Geonosians. I think they get a bad rap as bloodthirsty…but they specifically developed a culture that minimizes bloodshed at the social level, but allows it at the interpersonal level in very controlled settings. Frankly, a lot less bloodthirsty than the Republic’s slave-clone army! They’re incredibly hard working and intelligent as evidenced by their remarkable innovation in the area of sonic weapons and speeder bikes (flitknots rule!). Sure the CIS was ruled by sith and corporations, but so was the republic. There was never any opportunity to get away from sith or corporations. Frankly, I like their chances against the corps better under the CIS than under the republic, and might be they did too, knowing they’d have to pick to actually be liberated.
