  • This video will show you how to install a mirror tap for devices like Radar Detectors, Dash Cams, anything that requires a 12v from the mirror to your device. For all current gen G30 5 series 530 540 and F90 M5 2017-2020. For older models the red wire may be green instead on the harness. Show how to disassemble the rear view mirror plastic housing.
    If you want to tap into the fuse box directly look at my other video.

Ive got 5 slits , opposed to 4. Anyway, I got it all working, the wiring seemed to be the same. Its all back up but I worried the piece will fall. Maybe I'll try to use some double sided tape along the rim of the piece. Ugh.

    • @tonytam4767

    • @hkeee
      @hkeee ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tonytam4767 Yes, the car was on and its really that the adaptor wire does not touch anything that's passing live current. The adaptor when stuck into the red and brown wire hole only touched the wire rubber or the sockets plastic. No metal with current. I couldn't find a way to connect it to anything directly and I can't take the wires out of the mirror socket to hand tie both adaptor wire and present mirror wire together and put it back in. I'll have to just keep looking to a dash cam that can work on battery life alone for 2-4 hours and I can just charge it daily like my phone and take it in and out of the car as needed.
