My issue with this mod is that the actuator still works in the background and when it does go out you'll still have a check engine light. I don't mind the active drill on my x7 but I do mind the check engine
which fault code you will get with the check engine light? and when will it happen?

I got a code about my active grille shutter assembly to remove an object…do you think pressing the button 4 times would help it get going? Or help the object move?
So did you leave the connector plug in still or you removed the connector also?

I do not like people messing with my cars. There is a reason why it was engineered that way.
Altering the engineering makes me apprehensive.
Well, German engineers find the MOST complicated way for something that should be simple to work.
M Cars don't have active grilles for a reason they need more air flow taking this out has no effects on anything except positive effects on performance

I got a brandnew shutter but my plug was corded and when I diagnosed the car it keep saying shutter missing.shutter multiple fault..I clean the wires but I still got code that say shutter missing

I would recommend a small air saw (if you have a compressor) much easier than the cutters

Keeps the car cooler. More boost
BMW used such a kidney for the car's aerodynamics. Below, where the air intake for the intercooler, it also has blades that manipulate the air flow. They programmed it so that when the engine temperature slightly increases (i.e. the need for high performance), it opens for air flow to cool the engine, but when you go faster and faster, the car will close the radiators because the air flowing from the bottom is sufficient to keep the temperature low, and additionally improves aerodynamics. So I would absolutely have to leave it, it is just spoiling some part of the car to get a nearly non-existent increase in performance. In addition, in the new BMW, the car looks better with the curtain closed
Carvana sold me a flood car and Ovb it wasn’t disclosed by them nor car fax’s they delivered it Thursday and I took it to the shop and they called me 30 mins later to say the car has been in a salt water flood. Idk if this story would interest you but let me know!

I would love to do this on my G30 530d xDrive as well. They told me at the service center that my check engine light will be on forever. If I throw the car into diagnostic mode and do the adaptive grill removal, will everything be ok? And without the warning light? Thank you for the advice!
You don’t actually remove the module so it thinks the flaps are still there
I did that and I still have the codes abeit a different code . The ecu knows if the motor is over spinning. Meaning if the motor is spinning without resistance (stopping) at some point .

JUST PULLOUT THE CABLE OF THE SERVO BEHIND THE KIDNEY U DONT NEED TO DAMMAGE THE KIDNEY, BECOUSE THE STANDBY MODUS IS ALWAYS OPEN IF U PULLOUT THE CABLE .AND ITS EASYER :)
It will throw a engine code if you unplug the cable
I removed the entire assembly and replaced the motor and plugged it back in and it still throws a code lol the ecu knows if the motor is over spinning

You can remove the module from the assembly and zip tie it to the front end for a cleaner look but you’ll still get a code lol
What is the advantage of doing this?
Car runs cooler
It will only take longer to warm up and produce for emissions. When engine is fully warm they will open and you get full cooling. No benefit other then looks cooler maybe.
Everyone asking “why do this?” - because they are not necessary and they make the car look like a piece of shit EV.
