- Can anyone tell me if the fuel pump is working correctly?? And what those buzzing things are?? and if they should be buzzing? And were is the fuel cutoff solenoid? Because hopfully its that, thats jammed almost shut.

10 years later, we now know that this was a problem that affected all engines with that kind of fuel injection pump (BMW, Vauxhall, Opel, Mercedes, etc.)
Once you fix the fuel pump you'll have no more problems with it for the rest of your life.
@MrBazza4 hello, my frontera is running perfectly now, It was the fuel pump, but no the buzzing didn't stop so that must be normal. hope this helps
Got problem with my Frontera dti.only runs on starter motor and anyone could tell me is there secondary fuel pump/sender unit in the fuel tank or this injection pump draws fuel it self?just got this car as a project and have no idea what is going on in it.
It was the injector pump. Sent it away for repair and it was perfectly reliable for the next 40k miles :) (then I sold the truck)
@trotter2087 you need to get the codes read. also, if these fuel at the pump, and at the injectors (with no air at all) these no other reason why it shouldn't start. Diesels only really need fuel and air to run (unless the ECU has had it of course) as they self ignite. It cost me £512.80 from PB Asher.
@MrBazza4 I dont know yet as my pump is still being fixed, I'l post a comment on here when I get it back and let you know
Yo!!! My dad has same issue... we think it’s the EDU on top of fuel pump! So does everyone else! Can’t seam to get it out though

it's a safe that cut's power to the main control unit there for the injection rig works bad or doesn't works at all; i can't send you a picture 'cause i don't have the car anymore

the vauxhall dti get that problem its where the glow plugs dont get enough charge you need a new glow conttroler that dosent work then take it to vauxhall
escucha, para la proxima vez si quieres purgar los inyectores, no lo hagas desde la bomba, hazlo desde el inyector.
i'm italian... at right of motor .. put fuel in red cap near the fuel pump..(use screwdriver to remove a valve) !!!!!!

LOL; let me tell you you all just throw your money out of the window; i just had the same problem; it's a freaking fusible safe that it's burned; it's the most stupid problem but no one notices it; and your mechanichs are playin' you all
