I am much older than both of you, and was an adult when this song came out. If you have ever been through a divorce, lied to and cheated on, this song means a lot more. Kind of an anthem for showing someone they can't ruin your life and things move on. Probably a breakup was his inspiration for the song.

That was totally chopped at the beginning. They took out the big keyboard and guitar moment that really makes the song for me. Steve Howe's guitar lines were so melodic in this song, and as good as anything he did with Yes.

Also one of my favorite bands from the 80s. This album was a monster (no bad tracks). I remember buying it the same day it came out on the recommendation of a store clerk that was playing it in the background on the store speakers. I was hooked! I could not leave the parking lot of this music store without listening to the whole album on my car tape deck.

So, I, as Rich, loved this band. They did in fact Make a comeback in 2006 with all the original members. Tour with new albums and the Like. In 2013 Steve Howe the Guitarist "retired" but ASIA continued with a new guitar player, Sam. In 2017 John Wetton, the Bass player and lead singer passed away. Rest in peace and thank God for ASIA. *** ASIA was formed as a "super group", as all the members were from successful other bands previously. John Wetton (King Crimson), Jeff Downes (The Buggles & Yes), Steve Howe (Yes) & Carl Palmer (Emmerson, Lake & Palmer). If you listen carefully enough you can hear each distinct individuality of the members in ASIAs' songs.

Love it, Rich! I have long been a die-hard metal guy. Makes my wife cringe, listening to my stuff, as our musical tastes are vastly different. But over the years, I've been able to throw her for a few loops, when certain songs pop up like an ABBA, or Bread tune, and I turn to her, "I've always loved this song!" Perplexed look on her face, "Huh? You?" This is another one...I too have always loved this one...cranked to 11. Had me nostalgic with this vid. :)

FYI - there are actually *two* bands called "Asia" right now - original members Carl Palmer and Geoff Downes have carried the original banner with Billy Sherwood and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal as Asia, while former singer/frontman John Payne (1991 - 2006) has formed "Asia featuring John Payne" and performs Asia songs.
Keep your eyes open and you might get to see one or the other - or even both - in the next year or two!

Back when MTV played music videos. Rich is about my age (1 year older) And, for anyone in that age bracket, MTV was the single biggest exposure to music - more so than radio - because you'd go from Asia, to The Cars, to Michael Jackson, to Judas Priest, to Paul McCartney, to Blondie, to Gary Numan, to Flock of Seagulls, to Def Leppard, to God only knows what else... and you sucked it all in.

I can't overstate what this band meant to teenage me. This band was THE gateway drug to my prog obsession. Indeed EVERYTHING about my future musical identity and my personal music journey was shaped by this band. From here I explored Steve Howe's YES, Carl Palmer's Emerson, Lake & Palmer, John Wetton's King Crimson as well as an awesome band called "U.K." (Quite underappreciated and arguably a sort of more proggy "proto-ASIA". Both were quasi "Supergroups" as well.), And Geoff Downes' time with YES as well as The Buggles" ("Video Killed the Radio Star" being their big hit). My brother took me to see ASIA for my birthday back in 2012. I'm glad I got to see Wetton before he passed. A voice so distinctive and wonderful. I miss him terribly.

#Asia - Heat Of The Moment (must do) (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada - eh!) - I know it's not a first reaction, but it's a beautiful song! There may be individuals out there that aren't aware of it's existence!!
This was a pleasant surprise!! I still remember when my sister (13 years older than I) introduced me to Asia - I think I was 5... Heat of the Moment and Only Time Will Tell were spun on the turntable 'ad nauseum', but such set in motion my love of 80's synth rock. What a beautiful tune. The video was 'meh', but I loved the harmonies & musical performance! Great reaction guys!

Arguably, one could call this a "supergroup" with members coming from different bands (Yes and/or Kansas or Styx if memory serves). They had three or four top ten hits off this LP. Was the first reserved seating show I'd ever been to (I suppose that fans were getting smashed and injured on the front barrier because of the crush of people trying to get to the front). Second row, center stage... after camping out for two days in line waiting for tickets to go on sale lol. One hell of a party for the 3-4 hundred fans sitting on the sidewalk next to the Civic Center.

But now watching this I get that teen boy tie-in with what hubby said was a 'popular' 'exercise' series of women in leotards doing aerobics or gymnastics set to peppy music back then. Love the 80's stuff. Would love to hear "Ain't talkin about love" Van Halen, "More than a feeling" Boston, "Nothing Else Matters" Metallica with the San Francisco Symphonic Orchestra
