So happy you're back! More Maiden, yay! The only time this song was performed live was back on on the Beast on the Road Tour in 1982. Yeah, that last part is hard to sing, but the studio version is fine.
Clive Burr was the drummer, awesome musician and sadly missed. Total Eclipse kicks ass. It was originally missed if NOTB in place of Gangland and made it to the Run to the Hills single b side.
Because you're already there in Hammersmith Odeon, you should continue the tour and listen "22 Acacia avenue" live from Hammersmith 1982. That's one amazing song, and also continuing saga of Charlotte the Harlot (I think that you did reaction on that song back in the days). Anyway, I'm glad you two are back, and continue on good work. Best regards from Serbia
They filmed this concert for an intended home video release but it was shelved because they weren't happy with the overall quality. Some of the footage was first released many years later on a dvd (The History Of Iron Maiden Part 1). There is also a douple-live-cd from this concert, which too was released much later as part of a compilation box set.
Partial footage (Murders in the Rue Morque, Children of the Damned, Total Eclipse, Sanctuary and The Prisoner) were used on 12 Wasted Years video released in 1987. A more complete video was on the History Pt.1 DVD about 15 years later. The DVD does not include Sanctuary, although it adds five songs not on the VHS. (The DVD also omitted Iron Maiden from the Dortmund 1983 gig, although it was included on the VHS. I still don't understand why they left those two songs out. Dortmund was also mono even though the original TV broadcast and the two tracks on the 1987 VHS from that gig were stereo.)
Since I'm an old metal head, I started listening to Maiden in 1982 and have the original TNOTB without this song. Clive Burr was the drummer on the first 3 albums. Unfortunately Clive died in 2013. It's a good song, but I prefer Gangland more. It will be interesting to see which song you guys will like more, this one or Gangland. Up the Irons 🤘
You've missed a lot of new _Band Maid_ video's during the time you disappeared from TH-cam. Look forward to seeing those with great anticipation,. By the way they are currently touring in the USA! 🤘
Soo good to see you back! Great react! For me this is the best Maiden song Best tour from the best album and the best metal line up ever! Clive Burr was insane. Best Metal Drummer! Gone too soon. But never forgotten Rest in Power Clive Up the Irons 🤘
So sorry about the dog attack. Love the Aviator helmet! I want one! Love Gangland. I don't know why they don't like that one. And holy crap! I thought I was a huge Maiden fan but I never heard this song! Awesome! Love you guys! I started listening to Maiden in the late 70s. As far as the sound, sure it might have been hot but it isn't horrible with analog. Digital would have been a disaster.
To me this song has the original Maiden sound to it, before Bruce came into the picture. Good song, I’m with Kel, it’s nice to hear the tempo change. Stay Cool 😎 and… \m/ Stay Metal \m/
Early Iron Maiden was awesome. Loved the way they harmonized their guitars. Kel, no need to bob your head. You have great expressions on your face so we know what your thinking. Just sit and enjoy it and don't worry about doing anything else.
Jack from Jacksonville - Saw this video in my list and had a flashback of the concert in Sunrise (where Kell purchased them Wicked goggles she's sportin). Back when record stores existed in the 80s you would run across bootleg & one offs of maiden with only a couple of songs on it. Some were even picture discs. I was introduced to this song by one of those....Same story applies to the song Black Bart Blues (Wicked jam btw if you've never heard it).... Thank you Kell n Rich for all your hard work in keeping these Jems in circulation. Maiden has been with me since childhood & always influenced my approach to playing instruments. Best wishes to you both and continued recovery to Kell.... God Bless...🙏🤘🙏
Very Exciting. Song. Video. Reaction. Most important. You Two are Back... And yes. This shows up on "The History of Iron Maiden part 1.... Ya All should set a night and do a full react to this SUPERIOR MUST SEE Piece of Heavy Metal History...!!!!
The 1st thing that I noticed while watching this video was that Massive drum kit the last time I saw a drum kit that big was Alex Van Halen in the music video Jump back in 1984 video and the movie montage but to the pinball game with the flippers transporting you two back in time to different concerts to do reactions to . here you Kel and Rich rewind flashback just like Quantum Leap just a musical style as you transport through pinball machines as the pinball machines represents different bands from different eras and different types of music. That band's lead guitarist reminds me of Steve of Def Leppard back in the .
They only played it on this tour, 1982. Bruce was singing higher noted than the original song. It was his 1st tour as well. Tempo was slightly faster as well. I believe they're now switching this song out for Gangland on yet another rerererereleased on number of the beast which will be a vinyl 3 lp set that will include an official release of the 1982 Hammersmith Odoen show of this tour, which is from which this song is included. It was first featured in a vhs called 12 Wasted Years that was a documentary and was a great insight to the band.
Hey Guys. Total Eclipse was left off the album because it wasnt finished in time. They were in a big hurry to get it released . Going on tour and all that . Gangland was to be the B side so they just used that instead
Nope. Total Eclipse was the B-side of Run to the Hills single, which was released over a month before The Number of the Beast LP. The band had decided in advance that either Gangland or Total Eclipse would be the B-side to the first single, and when they had to make the final choice, they decided that Gangland - being a more uptempo track, while Total Eclipse had a more doomy feel to it - was a better fit for the LP, and Total Eclipse ended up on the B-side. Total Eclipse was added to the album on the 1998 enhanced CD edition between Gangland and Hallowed Be Thy Name, and it replaced Gangland on the recent anniversary vinyl release.
Gangland is sooooo good! has a sharp rockin solo. awful to hear of your ordeal but very glad to see you clearly well on the mend. welcome back yous. we've missed you
Ever since drummer Clive Burr left Maiden in1982 & with the addition of Janick Gers/1990, Maiden's line-up has been, more or less, consistent w/Harris, Dickinson, Murray, Smith & McBrain. There may have been a few hiccups & speed bumps mid-1990s to early 2000s but every relationship has them, right?
You know…I just gotta say….I came across Kels reaction to Since I’ve Been Lovin’ You again after a couple years…and Kels description at the end, of what that evil girl REALLY did to Robert’s heart is one of my favorite things on this channel EVER . 😂
🤘🤘🤘 Thee Clive Burr on drums . Gangland fits Number of the Beast , this is def a b-side. Producer and Maiden got it right. Total Eclipse actually sounds ahead of its time like anything after Somewhere in Time album . weird !! at least to me it does.
Fun fact: Iron Maiden and Judas Priest have been rivals for years and years. Even to this day they don;t like each other too much. Dave and Adrian were mocking K.K. and Glenn during the part of the song "Around the world, the nations wait..." I remember when I first saw this on the 12 Wasted Years video, and my best friend started laughing, because he knew what was going on, and he told me... ever since then, it makes me chuckle to see that level of silliness and mockery. This is the only video performance, aside from maybe bootlegs... I think people would lose their minds if they brought this one out of the mothballs in the modern day.
I always liked Total Eclipse and prefer it over Gangland. Steve Harris was of the same mind and said he regretted it ever since, that Total Eclipse was left out instead of Gangland. None of these songs are favorites of mine, but Total Eclipse is badass for sure. Fun fact: Total Eclipse & Gangland are both the two songs off Number of the Beast that drummer Clive Burr co-wrote
This is a great song. Thing is, Gangland is _also_ a great song, with an exceptionally catchy groove by then drummer Clive Burr. The only "fault" Gangland has is, they forgot to add the second solo onto the master tapes when they recorded the song, so there's a short solo and then 8 bars of just rhythm guitar without solo.
I actually like Total Eclipse better than Gangland. I think you will, too. BTW, did you know that Iron Maiden has a pinball machine? It'll run you about $10k, but it looks awesome.
Have you react to the B-Side "Black bart blues" ?.Go for it!.... Very strange! And then ,if you want. " Hocus Pocus". And then ,again." More tea Vicar", "Nodding donkeey blues"... It's only a little part of the other side o Maiden
I think total eclipse is a B side and had no business being on the perfect beast album imho. As far as I know Maiden hasn’t played gangland live or indeed the brilliant opener Invaders but Dream Theatre did invaders and an amazing take on gangland live when they played the whole beast album Live
Its a freaking crime that this was not on the original version. To me this is the second best song on the album, after Hallowed. 🤘 Its so unique and different. The ending part is so chilling. It should have been longer though…
Live or dead Bruce is there. The other simply incredible... Clive grew up the level of technic of all of them... if Clive remained... maybe something changed.. i love Nicko.. but Clive is another level
Best couple on TH-cam. So refreshing to see a married couple who actually adore each other.
The wonderful, the late Clive Burr on drums. 🤘🤘
So good to see you guys back in the saddle! More Maiden!
This is one of my favorite Maiden songs. I believe it has never been on their set list since 82
Welcome back .what an obscure song. Ive never heard this one before.
So happy you're back! More Maiden, yay! The only time this song was performed live was back on on the Beast on the Road Tour in 1982. Yeah, that last part is hard to sing, but the studio version is fine.
I'm so glad you two are back. Great choice. Iron Maiden was great from their beginning.
Fantastic track... surely one of my favourite
Think this was a B-side on one of the singles i brought, amazing!
Clive Burr was the drummer, awesome musician and sadly missed. Total Eclipse kicks ass. It was originally missed if NOTB in place of Gangland and made it to the Run to the Hills single b side.
But as Bruce Dickinson himself has said, in reality it's not a B-Side at all.
Sweet! Can't remember another reaction to this not-so-well-known song of IM. But it's SO cool. GREAT to have you back!
Thanks dude for showing this maiden song that Ive never heard of. I thought Ive heard em all.
Seen Iron Maiden last September wow from the 3rd row They kicked ass again never disappoint!!!
Awesome track, it's a shame it was never on the original album. \m/

One of the greatest Maiden's song!!
Welcome back guys
Lobe to you both
Good to see you both back.
nice to have you two back
nice to see you again guys !
why all modern? Best maiden was 1980-1996
@@mrmanakin9684 because they have reacted old maiden !

Gangland is definitely the better track a very underrated track

I would totally love to be your neighbor! Lol. You seem to be such a genuine and fun couple. Thanks for your channel. Take care.
Kelly nailed it!
We missed you ,I saw you guys from a distance at the maiden show in sunrise Fl .but did not want to bother you. Hope to see you in Tampa next week

It does have some Remember Tomorrow vibes.
Thank you for reacting to this! How the FUCK could this album be left off ANY album. Tremendous. Destroys Gangland
bruce high notes at the outro are amazing as he smiles liking his fucking voice!!
Total classic 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Early Iron Maiden was awesome. Loved the way they harmonized their guitars.

Number of the Beast set the bar so high for quality songs that this didn't make the cut. Crazy
This song is new to me. What a, as Bruce would say, “banger”
Saludos de México
Buenos noches!
😊KnR❤
It’s a very good b side track. 1982 was a great Maiden year love.

Long live Iron Maiden 😎🇬🇧🤘
Hi guys, I bought the Run to the Hills single in 1982 and remember this B side, thinking why was it not good enough to make the album? Rock on
Iron maiden is a freaking machine 🤟🏼
Vintage Maiden yeah !!!!

CLIVE BURR BEST MAIDEN DRUMMER
Sou fã desde, só Deus sabe ,mandei um oi, pra mim no Brasil
Its never been played live since the Beast on the Road tour unfortunately.
... 🤘 ...
I actually like Total Eclipse better than Gangland. I think you will, too.
BTW, did you know that Iron Maiden has a pinball machine? It'll run you about $10k, but it looks awesome.
Nothing eclipses both your smiling faces!
Can you guys react to the new ghost album. I really enjoy your ghost reactions
Have you react to the B-Side "Black bart blues" ?.Go for it!.... Very strange! And then ,if you want. " Hocus Pocus". And then ,again." More tea Vicar", "Nodding donkeey blues"... It's only a little part of the other side o Maiden
Fisrt metal album i bought was Live After Death, always prefered their live albums
Very deep. 150-160? Maiden songs to go😊
I think if you count just studio albums, I think there were 187. But Kel and Rich have done a few songs.
I think total eclipse is a B side and had no business being on the perfect beast album imho. As far as I know Maiden hasn’t played gangland live or indeed the brilliant opener Invaders but Dream Theatre did invaders and an amazing take on gangland live when they played the whole beast album Live
Oh I’ll be taking this number with me when I die . I’m being cremated.
Don't forget to look up LOVEBITES Japanese girl metal band they kick ass
In my opinion, I would have liked Total Eclipse instead Invaders. Gangland is a killer song
Try listening to T Rex
“Twentieth century boy” or “Jeepster”
He was in tune, just saying. Appropriately in tune to the song
Its a freaking crime that this was not on the original version. To me this is the second best song on the album, after Hallowed. 🤘
Its so unique and different. The ending part is so chilling. It should have been longer though…
Iron Maiden - Hate them so much .
Maiden are so overrated.
Live or dead Bruce is there. The other simply incredible... Clive grew up the level of technic of all of them... if Clive remained... maybe something changed.. i love Nicko.. but Clive is another level
Total Eclipse is not one of their songs ,it was a cover that they did.
It’s a Burr/Murray/Dickinson track
