Under 15k subs for you is criminal. Scott Brown if you’re watching work with your fellow kiwi here. Had the same issue with my tactixs. I went thru two pairs before I gave up and got my money back and tired Isotunes until I settled on the 3m as the cord on Isotunes where annoy for me. The single button is a pain but oh well
..... Well done Mate, For people who have the Tactix that sound as tinny as a $2 radio, The 32 ohm speakers have dislodged from the orange housing. Disassemble (Push fit between padding & orange housing), carefully open all holes on back of speaker (through white tape) , spot glue (stupid glue) speaker back on (centre, try not to cover rear holes). Tape around the circumference of speaker sealing gap between orange housing & speaker leaving hole at the top to let bass out. replace grey & orange foam etc. They will sound great now.
I also own the 3M Pro Grade ear muffs with the 30db passive noise reduction rating & the 3M Worktunes with the 24db rating block out noises such as a neighbor mowing almost as well. And that is without them playing any music. I find the Worktunes connect to an iPhone perfectly and same to a Windows 10 PC. The volume from the PC is louder but that could be the iPhone restricting the volume level. I find the sound perfectly fine & most people say that for the price the sound is really good. Another reason I like the 3M Worktunes is the simplicity. Just one button to push - not like the fancy noise cancelling headphones from Bose & Sony and their smartphone apps.
I've owned both pairs of these. The Tactix didn't last as long and were of lower quality over all compared to the 3M. 3M connected quickly and perfectly every single time which was fantastic because I wear these all day listening to podcasts and audiobooks, lso much more comfortable than the Tactix. Suddenly after 18 months they have stopped working, perhaps the battery is worn out. So I need to buy another pair even though the price puts me off, however considering how much I like them and how much I use them they still represent the best value to me. Actually the worst thing about the Tactix was the jack which became quite dodgy quite quickly - having to jam the plug in on an angle - and were all round crummier. When I switched to 3M I couldn't believe how seamlessly they connected to Bluetooth which takes an enormous amount of hassle and frustration away from using them.
I own 3m worktunes mayby different version but mine were super comfortable The ear muffs part of it were actually gelled and not foam, and they also Have large ear spots, so your ear goes all the way inside. Its got some weight to it but that's kind of expected with bluetooth about a $100 Canadian. And they last 48 hrs. I used them on four 12 hour shifts. I also like how the blue light on the side. Only lights up when you're charging them or turning them on. And its not on while they're on.
I’ve had the Tactic earmuffs had no trouble with them only use via Bluetooth around the house when mowing the lawn once a week for about an hour or so never had problem with the comfortability always been $69 at my local Bunnings store here in Hamilton wouldn’t mind another pair but was waiting for the price to come down they never have, not too sure what generation they are but I’ve had them for awhile
My 3M worktunes worked great for about 18 months. I was very happy with them , especially battery life. But today the button lost its “click”. Started turning themselves on and off. A good blowout with compressed air did nothing. I was thinking of trying the cheaper tactix but after watching this vid I’ll buy another pair of worktunes and hope they last a bit longer.
Very flat response with acceptable volume levels that will not induce premature hearing loss.Great stereo separation with very good signal to noise ratio in exess of 70 Db.Fantastic battery life with easy no nonsense pairing.Well done guys.
Just picked up a pair of the 3m's here in the states for 30 usd ... Thanks ... And sorry about the exchange rate ... I'd send ya a pair if the shipping wasn't more than the products value
Thanks for finally getting around to both of these I've wanted that model of 3M for so long actually I thought that it would be an improvement upon the previous model that I had wanted as well until I finally got my hands on them in the store and they don't actually fit over my large Obama style ears... It's disappointing you see they try to reduce the form factor pulling the drivers inward to make the external side of the cups more slender but that pushes everything inward and makes the actual depth of the ear cup shallower. I'm still deciding after a couple of years of looking between your other pair and the DeWalt dpg-17s but until I can try them on myself and see if they go around the back of my ear I'm still in the wind.
Lol, I got the 3m's for my bro today as a part of a secret santa and he literally walked out with and grabbed his Tactix, I was like :( (bummer) then he mentioned they were cutting out on an ear cup and had a few other issues :D Tested them both out side by side and they were worlds apart IMO but his Tactix do have issues and 3m were new, but to me they were honestly the most comfy muffs I have worn and the ambient noise cut was so good I was not bummed out that they are nothing compared to my sennheisers for power as in a loud environment even they do not compete.
3m is a trustworthy brand. I bought some in April 2020 and worn them most days 8hours a day. Love the bass, cancels the right amount of sound, battery lasts ages but unfortunately last week one ear stopped working then the other, the wiring above the muff became exposed and I guess rip.
Just looked up the 3M Worktunes Connect, they seem a little hard to get where I live. Funny thing though is that if I ordered them from Amazon US they'd cost me merely 60$ / 50€ with taxes and shipping. Probably gonna buy them!
Many thanks. Like your honest review. Am looking for something different to passive duffs or 'ear pods' inside passive duffs or using expensive NC headphones in workshop. Cheers. Ostriches and movers were a fun bonus. Cheers, ears!
Thanks for the video, I own the 3M Peltor Protunes AM/FM Earmuffs and when I use the 3.5mm input there is a ringing sound in the right earcup, I've had two different earmuffs and they both ring. Do these ones ring too with a 3.5mm aux input?
The Tactix don’t fit the contour of your head and the padding is so thin that they don’t seal out my lawnmower noise very well. This would not be a problem if you could turn up the volume to hear the speakers but the company has set too low of a limit on the output volume. I wish I had sent them back before I got them dirty, as they don’t muffle the noise or allow me to listen to music as I work. I’ve ended up using my earbuds under them so I can hear the music. Basically the same thing that I was doing with my old work muffs before I wasted my money on the Tactixs.
ive only had the 3m they were great for the first month then my microphone died so no one can hear me on my phone then one earmuff just stopped playing sound at all. the battery does last forever, i have noticed that the lower the power gets the less you can hear and sometimes the noise and or sound auto adjust and even on my phone with full volume i can barely hear. imo for the price i wouldnt rate the m3 great to start off with but all day in day out they just dont last. i will be keen to try the taxtic
You should have tried to colab with dankpods, it’s an Australian channel where he tests all sorts of headphones and other audio devices. He has a rig to test headphones.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL could post. Ild wait a month for that video🤣🤣. Also depends where in Australia he is. If like NSW/Qld be ok due to travel bubble. If Vic like myself then yeah no go.

@@gsadlerdavid Maybe blame Covid for those shipping charges. Almost all flights being non passenger cargo only, pushes up prices. If you watch the Juan Brown Blancolirio aviation channel he has a video about a cargo only flight from California to Sydney using a Boeing 777. The guy is a B777 co-pilot for American Airlines. (I think!) Anyway his recent video shows him walking through a totally empty plane.
3M review 12 month review The wire eventually wears out and splits wheee it joins the muff. Sound cuts in and out when moved which is very often. Dunno why they have cables like that so disappoint. $79 and $99 in Australia now, looking at buying one next week that's why I came here. Trying to work out which ones to buy. I think I will get the 3M

How do they fit as far as large ears go? I tried the 3M and they don't fully fit over my ear without bending it in

I saw on the box that it said MP3 how does that work and how much memory does it have?

Neither muffs in this vid have any internal memory. They play MP3s from an external device via bluetooth.

Be wary of any product with a flashy yet low resolution LCD screen. And the comments about an overly fancy box are spot on!
The LCD screen is also bloody hard to see when they are on your head.
