Hello, Great video, gave me the confidence to service the hubs on my Indespension trailer. As you mentioned in the video, the inside bearing has a seal attached to it. So as not to damage the seal, what would you recommend I use to clean the bearing with, e.g. no nonsense degreaser or brake cleaner? Any help gratefully received.

      Glad it helped
We use a paraffin based solvent but in the early days we would use diesel but it was smelly many company's are using a water based cleaner. any thing will do than thins the grease to clean it out.
Most auto spares shops will have some sort of degreaser like your no nonsense degreaser you mentioned. I would avoid brake cleaner as you will need a lot and it could get expensive but it would work.

Was there a grease seal on the rear bearing?

This maybe was not the best hub to do the video with it was an Indespension hub.
Indespension hubs have a seal built on to the back of the rear bearing and don't have a separate rear seal.
All other brands of hubs ( Avonride, Meredith and Eyre, Peak and Al-ko) other than the unbraked hubs that fit a 1" diameter shaft that have taper roller bearings don't have a seal built in seal like this, they have a separate oil seal behind the rear bearing.
The separate seals are difficult to remove without damaging them I use a press to push the seal out with the rear bearing. This is not due to the force required but the fact it applies even pressure all around the seal and does not bend it however the spring occasionally comes off the seal.
The seal can be quickly removed by prying them out from the back but this usually causes damage and the seal needs to be replaced I do it if I am changing bearings or the seal looks damaged as the seal would be getting replaced.
On a service I press them out as I intend on using the seal again I just remove the seal to get the rear bearing out to clean, inspect and re grease.
To fit the seal I recommend a plate larger than the seal over the seal and either press or tap it in as this stops pushing the seal when it is level with the back face.
