I feel your pain just watching this. Every cyclist has been through these dark patches on a long ride but the satisfaction reward after is priceless. Great footage in every way 💪💪
The fuelling was hard, because I only had pockets, and bidons. The water/electrolytes were the big issue, if I could have got more carb mix then I think it would have helped a load
You're my hero! Thanks for this video, I was exciting to follow the video, in parallel with Strava track with my heatmap as the overlay. This brought back great memories - where I was, how it looks like in your camera. Awesome 👍👍
Well done, it was great video and an epic ride. There is such a difference between a solo ride and a group, then add filming it with your arm stuck out holding a camera.
Thank you, going solo was definitely tough, especially the first two hours in the dark. But that being said- there’s something about having done it solo that just makes it that little bit more awesome 👌🏻✌🏻
There's a reason pro's (and most experienced cyclists) prepare a nutrition strategy for big day's out! Don't eat and drink when you need it - just keep eating and drinking. Granted it's a bigger than average ride, but you struggled because you were under fueled/hydrated - basic stuff really.
Behave. Don’t tell us you’ve got your fuelling right every single time you ride. Not a chance. And especially on a ride of this size. Shout out to max. Cracking video. Too many pros in these comments 😂
I had one Beta fuel in my bottle to start, but annoyingly when i packed i realised i had run out otherwise i would have done exactly that. More carb mix wold have been useful
Unless you are a cyclist, it’s hard to describe the pain these rides create. Both mental and physical challenges, but we keep doing it to ourselves and Mallorca is a good place to grovel. 😜😜
Epic ride, well done. Porto Cristo is lovely, cycled to there a few times and it's a really nice area. You did it at best time of year, lot cooler but still lovely weather and so much quieter roads. Were you drinking enough is one question I have, seems didn't go through many bidons.
In this case you are right- I went to bed after getting back and having some fruit and didn’t have dinner! Went crazy at the buffet in the morning though
"I'm this close to bonking!"... While watching the video, till this point I was thinking ... "damn, this guy is so tough - he is eating so little yet still delivering". I need a gel every 20-30 minutes + snacks on the stops, otherwise I'm simply devastated.
@gavincasizzi4367 They are nice huh. They are the DMT Cycling Pogi's. Managed to keep them white for the whole trip but showered with them a few times. They are also very comfortable, i didnt adjust them once this whole ride

What an epic video! I asked in what of your previous videos but I just wanted to confirm. Are you wearing the Airas 8KO Silver Blue or the Airas 8KO Iris HV Blue?
I didnt have nearly enough. Carrying it all was the problem. I should have eaten more in Alcudia but wasnt in the mood. Ideally youd take on 80 odd grams of carbs an hour but id only really do that after the first 4-5 hours as the 1st half of the ride is flat and there was no real need to push too hard

Forget the 312. I'm a local resident, have done it 5 times. But it's got way too big for it's own good. Mainly because too many people and no speed graded pens at the start and under resourced feed points. Total zoo. Can take 25' just to cross the line. If you are fast it means you are weaving through thousands of slower riders. If you are slowish, then you are fighting the time cut, which is hard when you have already lost 25' just waiting to cross the start line.
I concur with the ‘zoo’ sentiment, particularly at the feed stops. The first climb usually splits everyone out. I witnessed plenty of knobheads pushing and shoving and riding down the hills with death wishes. Still generally enjoyable though.
@jonphotos8631 Thats exactly part of the challenge when doing it solo without support. Its not always possible to eat and drink when theres nothing to eat and drink, plus every stop slows you down
