Oh my gosh, the turnout for the blood drive is so touching! I could just cry. When you are going through cancer the kindness and generosity of strangers is the most touching uplifting that happens during dark days ❤
I am a nurse and frequently administer blood. I always take a moment to thank the donor as I hold their precious gift in my hands. It is very humbling.
Thanks for sharing your story. Good reminder for me to not disregard things and chalk them up to anxiety, which I see get cast onto young female patients quite often. I will follow along.
U are so amazing 👏 you are the one that got what u needed. I'm glad u mentioned NIH NCI AND BRUCE. Most know none. Plus with the blood donations and u only needed 2 units. Look how many other people that were saved. God bless those who donated! It's normal to at last min have doubts u were so much scared. I hope theirs a video on the surgery how u got through it and what was done. Sweetie I admire u so much! Hugs 🫂 🤗 to u! Your videos will forever be watched.
🌬💕 I watched your story yesterday Wow I'm so Happy for you. Praying your doing well. I just got diagnosed with lung CANCER. So my story has just begun. Stay STRONG 💪🤍💪
Thank you Katie for being here and sharing your story. Very inspiring the positivity in it, you are such a kind person. My eyes were full of tears at the blood donation-part. I'm so happy for you! Can't wait the next chapter of your story. Take care! Kristi from Hungary 💛
Your video is very inspiring and gives me hope for my daughters case. What where the names of those doctors you mentioned? I want to see if they can see my daughter.
For clarification, I don’t believe we needed 50 units for me directly but we needed them on hand at the blood blank in case I needed a massive transfusion. Obviously other surgeries going on at the NCI at the same time, so we needed to make sure they had enough blood for me if I needed a massive infusion & also to ensure we didn’t wipe out the supply if that happened. So we were aiming for 50 on supply in order to proceed.
