I agree, but at the same time this song wouldn't fit Kiwami 2 since the soundtrack is so different. They'd have to rework the instrumental at least for it to not feel out of tone with the rest of the soundtrack. Kind of like what they did with Out Law's Lullaby.

I prefer the rock song cause it fits my tastes more but it's way too angsty for Kiryu and his more stoic way of dealing with his pain here, he's swallowing his emotions and brooding in the rain pretending it's not as bad as he feels, it's how blues has generally upbeat tunes with sad vocals behind those tunes. The rock song is way too on the nose and sounds like it should be for some more youthful and more emotional late teen/young adult character who's still learning how to deal with problems like this. Basically, cool song but it completely ruins the mood and takes it in a laughable tone because it just does not work for the type of man Kiryu is.

The original will always be superior. The Sound of Breath was a horrible choice. I get they lost the license, but why couldn't RGG get a similar song? SIM just doesn't fit this scene, like they do with Pandemonium.
I like the new song, and it also feels appropriate for a game set in 2006, lol. But I also really like the Cowboy Bebop vibe this song gives to the scene, although I never played the original Yakuza 2.

But its infinitely worse for Yakuza 2/Kiwami 2 in comparison with Sound of Breath because this song is distracting in game. This song, as glorious as it is, is so bombastic and loud, it actually distracts from the scene. And this may possibly just be my own skill issue, but this song made me more invested in the song than the scene of Kiryu being stabbed.
