    At approximately 2:30 you mention that the brakes are large due to the Mach-E having regenerative braking. The implication being that larger brakes improve regenerative braking. The brakes at the wheels are not involved in regen braking at all, rather the motor(s) is/are providing the braking force and the wheel brakes are there as a secondary/backup form of braking.

      I agree, the brakes are big because the car weighs almost 5000 lbs!!!

      In Italy the entry model price is 60.000 euro. 😢

      Agreed, thank you so much for the comparison. I’m looking to purchase a mach-e but debating on what trim level, with financing and home charging cost since we’re going to be installing solar panels too. This is great, now I need to find someone who compares platinum with the other levels haha

      @@vtxjoni It can be difficult to have two mach e's at the same time but we try to compare them anytime we can!

    On the select , the truck is power operated as well and the seats , steering wheel and everything is heated ! I have a select it’s the same exact feature only thing is the pre- has that gloss and a longer battery life

    I refer the matte look of the select's accents, too bad the premium opted for the gloss.

    Thanks for the info. Does the glass roof have a closable cover or is it heavy tint?

    • @MacPhee_Ford
      @MacPhee_Ford  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does not have a power shade, just the tinted glass. But as you mentioned, it is a darker, UV resistant tint that keeps the majority of the sun/heat out.

    Would go for premium trim extended range. Do you know if there are any changes coming for the '24 model ????

    • @MacPhee_Ford
      @MacPhee_Ford  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great choice! The 2024 model will likely remain unchanged in terms of its design and styling. There may be some small tweaks and changes but not a new model.

    So, I'm guessing that a select could have better range than a premium if the premium had the seat and steering wheel heat on high and jamming out to some loud, base heavy music?

    • @MacPhee_Ford
      @MacPhee_Ford  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The amount of energy the climate control system, let alone the heated seat/steering wheel, is very minor compared to the energy it takes to actually move the vehicle. Although it does use power of course, it is not quite as drastic. You may lose a few miles of range using the heated steering or seats during a commute vs without them on.

    Hi great video! You did mention that both vehicles have a standard range battery, but you did not mention what the full estimated range is for the standard battery vs the extended range battery. Do you have that information?

    • @MacPhee_Ford
      @MacPhee_Ford  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mach E has a range of 360km(224mi) to 502km (312mi) depending on trim level and configuration. There are many different ways to configure the Mach E including battery, drive system and trim level. All of those factors will determine the estimated range so it is tough to give an exact number for a vehicle without testing being done and confirming the number. The 70kWh standard range RWD has roughly 370km of range whereas the 91kWh extended range has 483km of range so an extra 113km (70mi) of range between the battery sizes.

    Increased range? For those prices it should go coast-to-coast on a single charge! I wonder what kind of Diamler-Benz car I could buy for that money.
