The vents cool the battery. And if you have ever seen a hood fly up into a windshield while on the freeway, you’d be ecstatic about the fact that the hood can’t be opened with the door closed. I would have preferred Ford did the same thing with the rubber material for opening the front door that they did with the back door. It would have made beautiful unbroken lines.
Got it on the vents i just thought the design was a little weird. I haven’t seen that happen but again this goes back to design. The whole lever thing is outdated. I can agree with that as well the handles is kinda random. Thanks for watching Aaron!
@@jjwilliams9171 It's litterally such a good deal too because he qualifies for the 7,500k fed tax credit. My state puts another 2,500k on top too meaning its 10k OFF! These things are selling for over MSRP used so if I could buy one new for ~48k then I'd have a car worth ~55k that I only paid 38k for. Litterally no brainer
If you ever get out to Colorado, you can take my Mach-E GT PE for a spin. 480 hp, 634 lb-ft of torque makes for some fun red light starts. Great review, glad you did this one in detail.

@@brittcee8 nah i think the premium is sufficient honestly, but test them both and see what you like but I don’t think the GT is worth it with only 250 miles of range. You definitely want 300+ when you go electric
I’m considering switching to electric so for those of you that have one, how big of an inconvenience is the charging? I live in an apartment so I can’t have a station at home, so how big of a pain is it to wait somewhere for hours (I’d assume) to get a full charge. Excuse my ignorance on the charging if it’s completely wrong
Great question if you go to a fast charging station in the electrify america or EV GO network, then charging should take you roughly 25-40 minutes depending on how low your battery is at time of charging. You should rent one for a weekend on turo just so see how it fits into your lifestyle
I think it’s hella weird that people want to feel an awkward feeling in the pit of their stomach when a car accelerates…I like the Mach E because it DOESNT make me feel sick. Lol

Great review, man. I might be getting one soon. I test drove one today. Pretty nice. My Tesla M3LR might get totaled by the insurance, so I went to the auto mall to look at other EVs. My wife and I loved this car, so we're now waiting to see if we'll get paid out by my insurance company.

Yes! I think Ford Edge would have been a great name. I get the feeling that it began life as an Edge or another plain Jane crossover and some marketing executive got the brilliant idea to call it a Mustang and dress it up with a pony logo on front and Mustang-like taillights in back.
Compared to the Model Y, the tires are much skinnier. It would look much better with wider tires but Ford is thinking about range. The Model Y has a more poised stance with its staggered tire setup.
I wouldn't have bought the car if it didn't have the mustang logo and feel to it. Yes, the car may be off because it's electric and we're used to seeing coups with the pony logo but the Mach-E is really underrated, both the handling and speed are impressive. If there was any EV car to put along side the mustang line-up, it's this one. 🏆🏆⚡ PS: It's a great F***king car... even more so with gas prices, get topped off at ~250 miles at 99% charge
Thats fine and all but your range estimate still depends on your driving style/terrain...etc. Install an L2 charger in your home and it won’t matter but as far as 400+ range you have rivian and a couple other retailers that are claiming they can provide you that. Thanks for checking out my review!
Great review. I’m looking at EVs for the first time and have ruled out Tesla for a number of reasons. I’ve been looking at Mach E as well as EV6 and the new Genesis GV. I drive an Alfa Romeo now so will want something that is still a fun drive and Mach e and ev6 seem to perhaps fit that need.

@@parkeringersoll973 fair question! Couple reasons: I think their design is unattractive and look like a bar of soap, their build quality and fit and finish issues would drive me crazy and no federal tax credit although that may change with the new legislation.
Is there a shade or cover for the glass top? I live in south central Texas. I'm not sure I want the hot sun beating down on the interior. I park in a garage but while driving or parked outdoors, that could become a Mach oven. Great review by the way!

Interesting coparison to the Model Y towards the end. Yes, a single-motor Mach-e will not be as punchy as a dual-motor Model Y. I drove the Model Y and felt it was too rough and unpolished. Opted for a Mach-e.
@@bradley617 1500 miles in three weeks and love it. Took it to San Diego for fishing and it was flawless. Took it to the central coast for wine tasting and it held three of us without a problem. BlueCruise is a lifesaver in Los Angeles traffic.
@@KaiPonte thanks. Gas is costing me 280 a month. Lol. And I could get a used Mach e and the car payment would be a wash. I only have 8k left on 335$ a month car payment. And a Mach e would be about 520 a month.
@@bradley617 it should come next year with my taxes I should mention that I am in Los Angeles. The temperature rarely gets below 60 degrees here. EVs seem to use a LOT of energy to warm up in cold climates. I won't have that problem.
I luuuv my little electric pony!! It is so fun to drive. Bought it last year. The only issue, if you can call it that is the app but I’ve figured it out now. Great updates. I love the sound system. Full sound bar on the das. So very fast💨

This is a suv not a super car muscle car this is a slap in the face to the mustang and mustang owners alike this should never hold the mustang bage it instead should be named magneto or pinto ford messed up on this one
EV has come to equate luxury vehicle and so it sucks that many EV car makers like Tesla, Ford, VW, Cadillac do not offer leather/leatherette seats in other colors such as tan or brown and wooden interiors and yet have the audacity to charge way more than entry level luxury vehicles by BMW, Mercedes etc. The EV makers are cashing in on the EV craze. People are willing to pay more than $50k for just an EV with crappy colors, seating, interiors.

I have a mustang v6 and i spend 300-400 dollars a month on gas so i might trade mine in for this even tho ive talked bad about but i just cant pay for gas no more
I have year old V-6 and typically spend about $120.00 to $200.00 per month on gas doing routine driving depending on the price of gas at the time. It goes up to $200.00 to $240.00 with extra trips.
i might be getting one of these soon since Model Y prices have increased so significantly but i heard they're having a recall due to the battery? will this be an easy fix for the vehicle?
I just wanted to say all the EV cars out there they should come out with a portable charger to wear just in case if you get stranded with an EV car you won't be stuck because say if you get stuck on a highway and there's no EV charging stations close by. It would be nice if they come out with portable high quality chargers that can be maybe charged up at home before you leave on your trip or something to take with you just in case if it's no charge in your car to travel further or if it stops on you and you run out of electricity a portable charger is ideal to have it's especially when it comes to electric cars for all electric cars even if the dealers sell them it would be fine if the auto parts stores sell them wherever I think it's important to have one and really especially in cold conditions and you in the middle of nowhere.
I remember in the 1980’s when the Mazda 323 Coupe/Ford Probe was going to be the New Mustang. Ford has been wanting to kill off the Mustang for years. They finally did.
All I can say is, this car is a FORD and can cost upwards to $75K. In summary, Ford quality, $75K, new model and technology, made in Mexico - NO THANK YOU!!! This is NOT a mustang - it's an SUV. And finally, ALL new cars are nice and great - but given time, all the problems will surface.
I keep looking for a Mustang when people show me a Mustang EV. Am I missing something here? Is this electric Mustang as reliable as the F 150 Ligtning? If it is, then pray that it won't breakdown and get recalled like the truck. Oh, the price is right? On a $45,000 Lightning truck with financing, you only pay an extra $23,000. Now, maybe you are rich but $68,000 for an EV seems awful high. Don't forget, the $45,000 for the Mustang EV gets you the lower performing system. The better system starts at $65,000. Add all the extra costs and you may only have to pay $80,000! Cheap at twice the price?????
These are much better looking on the road than they appear in pics. Odd. Regarding the name, I think they should have called it something else. Make a Mustang EV at some point, sure, but an SUV shouldn't be a Mustang.

I hate it when tesla drivers come to circle k...like Bru we know u just trolling...goto winco or Starbucks and get ur coffee 🤡... I actually pan handle allot and I've asked a good 8 people.with tesla asking for gas money..most are stingy and act like they ain't got $ but they walked out with items they bought...but one dude actually went back in and got $40 cash back for me...so 1 out 8
Looks like they trying to copy Tesla. Ain't going to see driving this model. A least they could have kept the traditional emblem, please tell them to trash that terrible emblem.
@@WizLovesCars just looks like they copied the bubbly Tesla or similar modern electric body style and slapped a Mustang label on it honestly. Nothing about it says Mustang in the traditional sense. Maybe that’s good, I don’t know but I think it’s uglier then sin.

How did you feel about the head room/clearance as a driver? I sat in the KIA EV6 a few weeks ago and immediately cancelled the test drive.
The headroom isn’t bad honestly, not sure how tall you are but you can always lower the seat to get more clearance

Great review. I’m looking at EVs for the first time and have ruled out Tesla for a number of reasons. I’ve been looking at Mach E as well as EV6 and the new Genesis GV. I drive an Alfa Romeo now so will want something that is still a fun drive and Mach e and ev6 seem to perhaps fit that need.

@@parkeringersoll973 fair question! Couple reasons: I think their design is unattractive and look like a bar of soap, their build quality and fit and finish issues would drive me crazy and no federal tax credit although that may change with the new legislation.

Is there a shade or cover for the glass top? I live in south central Texas. I'm not sure I want the hot sun beating down on the interior. I park in a garage but while driving or parked outdoors, that could become a Mach oven. Great review by the way!

No this uses a J1772 (J Plug) charger. if you would like to leverage a tesla charger you will need to use an adapter. I just reviewed one recently so you can get an idea.

Interesting coparison to the Model Y towards the end. Yes, a single-motor Mach-e will not be as punchy as a dual-motor Model Y. I drove the Model Y and felt it was too rough and unpolished. Opted for a Mach-e.

@@bradley617 1500 miles in three weeks and love it. Took it to San Diego for fishing and it was flawless. Took it to the central coast for wine tasting and it held three of us without a problem. BlueCruise is a lifesaver in Los Angeles traffic.
@@KaiPonte thanks. Gas is costing me 280 a month. Lol. And I could get a used Mach e and the car payment would be a wash. I only have 8k left on 335$ a month car payment. And a Mach e would be about 520 a month.

I should mention that I am in Los Angeles. The temperature rarely gets below 60 degrees here. EVs seem to use a LOT of energy to warm up in cold climates. I won't have that problem.
I luuuv my little electric pony!! It is so fun to drive. Bought it last year. The only issue, if you can call it that is the app but I’ve figured it out now. Great updates. I love the sound system. Full sound bar on the das. So very fast💨

This is a suv not a super car muscle car this is a slap in the face to the mustang and mustang owners alike this should never hold the mustang bage it instead should be named magneto or pinto ford messed up on this one
EV has come to equate luxury vehicle and so it sucks that many EV car makers like Tesla, Ford, VW, Cadillac do not offer leather/leatherette seats in other colors such as tan or brown and wooden interiors and yet have the audacity to charge way more than entry level luxury vehicles by BMW, Mercedes etc. The EV makers are cashing in on the EV craze. People are willing to pay more than $50k for just an EV with crappy colors, seating, interiors.

I have a mustang v6 and i spend 300-400 dollars a month on gas so i might trade mine in for this even tho ive talked bad about but i just cant pay for gas no more
I have year old V-6 and typically spend about $120.00 to $200.00 per month on gas doing routine driving depending on the price of gas at the time. It goes up to $200.00 to $240.00 with extra trips.

I just wanted to say all the EV cars out there they should come out with a portable charger to wear just in case if you get stranded with an EV car you won't be stuck because say if you get stuck on a highway and there's no EV charging stations close by. It would be nice if they come out with portable high quality chargers that can be maybe charged up at home before you leave on your trip or something to take with you just in case if it's no charge in your car to travel further or if it stops on you and you run out of electricity a portable charger is ideal to have it's especially when it comes to electric cars for all electric cars even if the dealers sell them it would be fine if the auto parts stores sell them wherever I think it's important to have one and really especially in cold conditions and you in the middle of nowhere.

I remember in the 1980’s when the Mazda 323 Coupe/Ford Probe was going to be the New Mustang. Ford has been wanting to kill off the Mustang for years. They finally did.

All I can say is, this car is a FORD and can cost upwards to $75K. In summary, Ford quality, $75K, new model and technology, made in Mexico - NO THANK YOU!!! This is NOT a mustang - it's an SUV. And finally, ALL new cars are nice and great - but given time, all the problems will surface.

I keep looking for a Mustang when people show me a Mustang EV. Am I missing something here? Is this electric Mustang as reliable as the F 150 Ligtning? If it is, then pray that it won't breakdown and get recalled like the truck. Oh, the price is right? On a $45,000 Lightning truck with financing, you only pay an extra $23,000. Now, maybe you are rich but $68,000 for an EV seems awful high. Don't forget, the $45,000 for the Mustang EV gets you the lower performing system. The better system starts at $65,000. Add all the extra costs and you may only have to pay $80,000! Cheap at twice the price?????

These are much better looking on the road than they appear in pics. Odd. Regarding the name, I think they should have called it something else. Make a Mustang EV at some point, sure, but an SUV shouldn't be a Mustang.
