One of those secrets well-kept behind the Iron Curtain. That his career was interrupted by a long stint of wartime military service makes his achievements even more impressive. I wish I could have had a teacher like him.

It's interesting how he chose to slow down the part in Adagio around 17:30 and again at the next part, it threw me off at first but now I think it makes this performance even more powerful than it would have been if it was played at tempo

Вот вот, у меня тоже такое впечатление. Будь это Рахманинов, исполнение было бы идеальным. А для Грига уж как-то слишком резко всё
