I love this game. It really is a hidden gem. Leveling up and upgrading the car is a lot of fun. Love the exploration, and so many achievements to complete. I'd love a follow up game, but only if it can be done right, like this was.
Totally. I pre-ordered it after seeing some cool looking gameplay but even I thought it would be one of those 6/10 mid games and it turned into one of my absolute favorites.
@TheScepticalThinker1 Really good. The vehicle explosions are unrivaled; burning tires, metal shavings, axle and suspension parts, etc all go flying. Plus the actual fire ball itself looks sick. It actually looks like a petrol explosion with thick black smoke. If you do get tired of it you don’t have to engage the convoys which is where the most intense of the vehicle combat occurs. Exploration is the funnest part for me, followed by the combat and car physics. You can even use a first person view/cam while driving and it’s done correctly with a nice wide FOV. It looks sweet looking down your hood with the supercharger sticking out of it.
I mean even back then it felt like another cookie cutter open world with Arkham combat, tower checkpoints and unnecessary crafting systems. I think nowadays it feels almost refreshing because the map isn't ridiculously large and bloated to last forever, and the progression isn't artificially stretched to incentivize buying XP boosts and other microtransactions. This isn't a hidden gem, it's just a mid but inoffensive open world that shines now that most AAA games are worse than mid
@@MILOPETIT While I concede some of that is true - no doubt many older games look great today compared to the travesty that is the modern gaming industry - I remember enjoying Mad Max day one. The combat, while inspired by Arkham, is its own unique thing and feels insanely good as you actually feel like you’re breaking someone’s jaw. I think the SFX and the brief slow motion when your hits connect really sells the weight of your punches. It just feels like a brawl. It’s great fun and I never get sick of it. Even the car customization was interesting like the grappling hook and harpoon were a great idea, especially having the hutchback operate it while you drive even though you as the player still control it, obviously. Even something as simple as still being able to drive the car while sniping for a better sight picture was novel. It’s a lot of little things that add up to an awesome experience. The map was also just dope with a ton of cool stuff to find, including massive unmarked fortresses outside the map boundaries. So it’s hard for me to consider it mid but I agree it’s aged better than it would have if it weren’t for what this industry has become.
Definitely take your time with it, I found that it’s quite easy to get burned out on it if you try to grind a lot of the side content too quickly. But the combat is so addicting that it can often make up for it.
It is fun initially, but the map is filled with similar quests all over so it gets kinda repetitive but still for a game that looks so vast and beutiful it sure runs smooth as hell.
one thing that i really enjoyed with this game is the sidemissions where you collect parts for diffrent stations of a base so that everytime you return you can restock you supplies. But it also impacted the base looks and the npcs attitude against you. This made the progression feel more real and rewarding instead of you just caring for yourself.
Same I wanna see it made in Unreal Engine 5. If that happens maybe they could add Furiousa and you could customize her like you did with Max. Also the cars being customized too
Can you even imagine having nemesis drivers that shout hilariously corny/edgy things when they show up? We're talking about the best game ever made here.
I thought the game was going to be so boring. I was so wrong. This is one of the most fun games I've played. And I think the reason behind it is the car combat and explosions. So good.
I think people just expect games adapted from film IPs like this to be awful due to the sheer number of failed releases in the past. A shame considering the number of people that missed out on this game based on that perception.
Mad Max is one of the few great video game movie adaptations. The car just sitting and idling, engine slowly rumbling and unburnt fuel dripping from the tailpipe... It's a mad max fan's dream. Badass in that perfect retro way.
For an empty, destroyed world it sure as life within it’s world. Such a underrated game, I think I speak for everyone when I say we’d love to a critique on this. 😊
I remember playing this game over the summer break after my first year of uni. I was broke, living off of cans of sardines and condensed milk. My friends had gone home, I was in halls alone and feeling bitter about a break-up. Aside from doing burpees, looking for jobs, and taking long lonely hikes in the scorching heat, this game is what I occupied myself with. The bleak, sun-scorched landscapes littered with corpses and rusted-out vehicles, completely bereft of decency or humanity, it was like staring into my own soul. I felt like Mad Max, angry, jaded, tortured by past failures, driven mad by isolation. I don't even like these types of cookie-cutter, open-world, Farcry rip-offs. This one was genuinely immersive. Driving through those endless deserts and experiencing its bizarre and disturbing post-apocalyptical cultures was a meditative experience. I just wish the combat had been deeper and more challenging. Also, I think they should have made the survival and crafting a much more significant, fleshed-out part of the game. I hope they make a sequel so they can get these things right. This game is by no means my favorite but it will always occupy a special place in my memory.
I think one of the more important part of car modification is that how easy it is to change, you don't need to go to a garage or even stop just change parts on the fly, which means you dont have to drive a hunk of metal all the time, make your car a speedster for travel, find a battle? On the fly change to fight mode
If they ever did make a sequel, which I really hope they do sometime. I hope they use their nemesis system as I think it would work so well in the mad max universe, and give it a wonderful spice to an already great game. I mean if they're going to patent their system, they better damn well use it.
@@MorshuGayming Warner bros has a patent on it, this game was published by Warner Brothers so they can implement the nemesis system in a possible future installment or perhaps another game
The story is deep as fck, the amount of pain Max goes trough is heartbreaking...The combat is also insane, both hand to hand and car to car combat feels amazing, i cant recommend it enough
@@BeenFuckinUpMyLifeNoJoke Naw i just beat it recently and to say it's a GREAT game is simply not accurate It has WAY too many issues that keep it from being great It's a GOOD game though Solid 8 outta 10
I absolutely love this game. The gameplay itself gets a little repetitive by the end, but the unbelievable world that they build, the visuals, the atmosphere they create, keeps me coming back time and time again. I have beaten it at least four times, I will probably be playing it until I die!
Those are rookie numbers! I'm at around 10-12! In all seriousness tho, the game is just incredible and I love it to the core, thus playing it at least once per year from the time it came out
I didn't know that this game existed until recently on PlayStation Store. I bought it because it was priced cheaply. I have been playing it for 2 weeks now and can not get enough of it. A real gem, fun to play, so much open-world with sooo many great game mechanics. Plays great for being out soo long. Love it ❤
This game and days gone are two massively underrated gems. That completely 100% deserved sequels. Currently playing this game for my 7th or so time. The first time I ever played it I wasn't actually expecting much but I was blown away by just how good it actually was. If you love days gone and you love post-apocalypse games. If you love cars this game will amaze you.
@@Merceralex77I like the mad max movies but for some reason I always feel like something is missing and I don’t know what it is. I feel like the world could be bigger lore wise but it feels small in scale to me idk. What do you think?
@@needum9212 yes, there is a lack of lore. Furiosa added some, one of the reasons I like it so much. I think it is what it's missing. Also they blurred some of the violence or simply didn't show it, like the death of Pretorian Jack. We never see his disfigured corpse. It could be more explicit
I think it’s scummy that they had a trophy connected to the server but did nothing about it when they shut them down and made it unattainable unless you completed the requirement beforehand.
If you think that makes you feel old, think about those of us who remember when the nearest you could get to a "mad max computer game" was the arcade game Spy Hunter.
I just played this game last week. And it still holds up, for me anyway. Awesome and a truly underrated game. Kept me more interested than Gotham Knights, and yeah, this is an 8 year old game, that takes place in a desert. Lol
The cut scene opener of Mad Max is perfect. Within fewer than 5 minutes you know who your hero is, what he’s lost, what he wants, who his enemy is, what the world will be like and even how you will go about fighting your way through it! You’re chomping at the bit to get going and breathless at the high octane, high concept, high as a kite ultra violent kick start. And it doesn’t go down hill at all! F’kin’ loved that game!
This is probably the only very large open world game aside from Elden Ring I actually enjoyed the combat was designed and handled very well. I remember pulling an all nighter exploring every nook and cranny the game had to offer.
The reason theres no sequals or dlc is because George Miller (the creator of mad max) actually sued Warner Brothers because the game is a ton of just concepts taken from early fury road and the upcomming movie Furriosa.. the game actually has some major spoilers for the upcoming Furriosa
It's criminal that this game wasn't the talk of the gaming world. Really great game. End game gets a tad bit tedious with the wave after wave of the same enemies but it's a must play.
I loved how every single loot spot had it's own little story told by the land or what's was there or scenery etc. I also liked how the car was neccessary for survival, transport and combat.
I would love a deep dive into Mad Max. I absolutely love your content Luke. I just wanted to say thank you I’ve listened to all of your critiques on my way to and from work. Keep being awesome my dude.
I really felt like the car itself was a character while I played this, definitely my favorite element of the whole experience. I love games that give you a vehicle or some kind of conveyance that has it's own limits and is separate from the player character. I was a huge fan of the Master Cycle Zero in BOTW as well, the moment I beat the game I started a master mode save but modded the bike to be available from the very start! I remember Xenogears as another game that blew me away as a young'un because you could hop in/out of your mechs any time inside AND outside of battle and were sometimes required to in order to progress or find secrets. Hell, I'd beeline for Epona as soon as you turn into an adult in OoT. Absolutely love this game. Should have gotten DLC and sequels/spinoffs. The "DLC" option in the main menu is now just a cruel joke, a twisting of the dagger.
I think the car is considered a character in this game. I'm actually playing it right this minute and the car, the Magnum Opus, has an in-game character bio.
I think this game is a 10/10, masterpiece, underrated, etc... for a niche audience that can really immerse themselves in sandbox, open world type games. As a casual gamer, I found the gameplay loop incredibly repetitive and didn't bother progressing past 20%. However I think the XBox Series X version of this game gets a resolution increase but more importantly a frame rate boost to 60fps which probably improves the overall pacing and feel.
I played this a few years after release, and it was actually really good. I spent a lot of time in photography mode, too, and the combat felt really heavy and impactful
The main problem was it was very repetitive and while it had a huge map, there was nothing in it. It would have been an immediate legendary game had it fleshed itself out.
Bought this game last month, playing it non stop since. This is the MOST OPTIMIZED PC version of the game I've ever seen. Runs maxed out on my 3050 & i5 11th gen, on 1080p 90+ FPS smooth gameplay. What a game, WHAT A LOVELY GAME!!
I think another possible reason for the lack of a sequel is that this game was tied to the new mad max movie wich was supposed to be a trilogy but ended up bring canceled.
This is one of those games where it's hard to exactly put your finger on why it's so enjoyable. I think the atmosphere has a lot to do with it though - the environment is so crushingly lonely and reflective.
I'm currently playing Mad Max for the third time. One of the best games ever - it cleverly does one thing, but does it to absolute, glorious perfection.
Love this game. I don't really enjoy video games as much as I used to tbh but I was having a lot of fun replaying this one a few months ago. Please make a big video on this game. It deserves all the love it can get.
This Mad Max game, man, that random sandstorm alone made for some of the most epic gaming moments I've ever had, especially if it happened to come over during a convoy battle. I never seen anything like it ever again in games. Why people thought finding 900 literal pieces of shit are what open-world games really needed?
the weird thing about this game is that is does have a flaw and it is that the map is very 'empty' BUT I say it's weird because this emptiness does make sense in the context of the world. I mean the game is set in a literal barren wasteland, unlike open world games that look like one when theyre not supposed to. so I found my brain shortcircuiting about what to think about this, but in the end I think it ends up being more immersive, because realistically there would be even less things, settlements, people walking around or driving if this was real. besides its cool to just immerse yourself in the world while driving at top speed in the empty desert. also I wish there was more convoy chasing missions because that was my favorite thing in the game, so much action I enjoyed those so much, reminded of the movies a lot but theres only a few and when you complete them theyre gone. and has one of the most shocking endings I've played
One thing that really has to be noted here is that it is one of the very few games that put their focus on two different genres. The driving and Racing and Car customarion is on the Level of a proper racing game while the combat and exploration is on the level of a action game like the dark knight games. Most games are good at one thing. For example GTA where the being on foot and fighting is good but driving just feels wrong
I remember getting this game when it came out a few months before Fallout 4. I thought for sure it was gonna be my little "post-apocalyptic appetizer" to get me hungry for F4 but I quickly got hooked to the game and played it even moreso than Metal Gear Solid V which was another triple-A game released at that time. If I can only say one thing about Mad Max its that I love how expansive the map is, it genuinely feels like a proper WASTELAND unlike what happened with Fallout 4's Commonwealth map where everything is basically across the street from everything else. Max had such a sense of expanse like if it didn't have vehicles and you had to travel on foot it'd take hours to get anywhere. Hope we get a Mad Max 2 eventually, possibly with a character creation system or a more in-depth Magnum Opus system. Probably gonna take another movie in the franchise being released.
I just found out about Rage 2 about 2 weeks ago.. literally got so addicted to playing it , haven’t played any other game since picking it up, beat every mission and finally the story today which brought me here to this video . HIGHLY slept on game . I really just wanted to point out I can’t help but notice how similar these 2 games look & play. I guess this game was used as a test run for Rage ? “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” works for me in this situation . Might be trying this game next. Bethesda titles im always on the lookout for
I agree, this game was too much fun and had details I didn't expect from a supposedly simple title. After a certain character death late in the game, if you meet someone begging in the waste, you'll have a vision of them asking some guilt-filled question concerning their demise. It totally caught me off guard when it happened, and I almost didn't see it since there's only so many beggars on the map. Also, while you are right about the odd button layout, I think it's surprisingly intuitive. Once you learn the game's specific style of combat, you'll notice that the buttons are mapped out that way because of the game's mechanics. Jump is on the trigger so it doesn't compete with the button functions, and the shotgun is B since it's usually auto-aimed for you. Sure, it's a bit jarring compared to standard shooter game layouts, but it makes sense for the featured combat - you're encouraged to throw yourself into the fray and dig your fists into enemies. Plus, ammo is scarce in the early game and limited in the late game by how much you can carry. Running and gunning just isn't feasible. Besides, the bases you raid are chuck full of stuff to use as weapons for each enemy type you encounter, so combat becomes it's own exercise in resource management. Man what an absolute gem of a game. I'm glad I was able to play it for myself, it is uniquely fun despite following a similar map-clearing style of gameplay as other games.
I played 1 hour of Mad Max and got distracted by other things at the time. I remember it being a pretty cool game. I’m gonna give it some love eventually.
I have played this game for ages and i love the open world apocalyptic feel, with the cars and combat. I remember buying the game wanting to drive the interceptor. I really do hope that this game gets some form of sequel or updates with more cars, or a DLC of sorts. I feel it could bring players back to the game.
The part that got cut out was the like storming area at the edges of the playfield were supposed to be a procedurally generated area. But they had to cut it, I think they had considered making it DLC later but obviously never did.
I think there is a reason why the jump is on LT, you rarely need to jump, even climbing happens with A button and evade is on RB. B button is duplicated to RT too, but works only while aming. Once you play it for a while, it just makes totally sense.
As someone who grew up watching the mad max movies with their dad, this game was just amazing fun from start to finish. Even if its the only mad max game we'll ever get, I'm just happy we got to play in that world atleast once as I've always yearned to interact with the mad max universe in some way. To top it off its even better that the game by itself was a banger
I've just bought it and I'm already completely addicted. I love the customization system. The combat system is like the Arkham series, although a bit simpler. It is as enjoyable. Also, the voice acting is top tier. I also want to add that Rage 2 is sort of a mix of this game and DOOM, and also should be given a shot. I love both games.
This game was so well optimized that it run 5kish(custom resolution) maxxed out, 60fps on a gtx 1070, without a single stutter. But most importantly, this was the first game or at least one of the first, to use a more curved world design. Similar to a new forza horizon, in comparison to a flat nfs. It gave you a great sense of scale while being fluid and mysterious
It's been 8 years since it released and it's still utterly beautiful. Picked it up on xbox series X for dirt cheap when it was on sale. I had already completed most of the game on my OG 2013 xbox one, before giving up as I couldn't get past a certain stage. Replaying on the newest console with all new graphics just makes this older game look like it came out recently
My experience of this game was amplified by two very important and related factors - 1. I am Australian and 2. I played this game to a Spotify playlist including such artists as Goanna, INXS, Midnight Oil and John Farnham. Play this game to 80s - 90s Australiana you won't regret it.
i honestly didnt mind the weird controls. they were refreshing the first time i played the game instead of any other games basic ass controls like the last one before it.
Still in a lot of pain that I didn’t get the 2 WB server objectives with offline scrap collecting… platinum is permanently unobtainable and I am missing a 2016 save from the PS… I’ll still go for all the other trophies and importantly finish the story that’s how much I think this game was amazing.
I've been playing this for the past six months and taking my time to get all the collectible stuff. It's got a lot of replay value (to me, anyway) and the setting is really beautiful. They really did a fantastic job with the desert and the car battles are a lot of fun. The story was decent considering the Mad Max series has never been known for its story lol. My only issue with the game is you can't send scrap gatherers out anymore since the rng for it was handled by a server. Still-if you're like me and love the car combat you'll gather a ridiculous amount of scrap in no time. It really deserved to be a sequel. I think what would have made it a lot more appealing is if they'd had an enemy system like the LotR Shadow of War, etc games. They could have done a lot more with it but of course, Warner Brothers doesn't give a shit about Mad Max and would rather focus on cash cows like Harry Potter.
This game definitely flew under the radar to alot of people. If you havnt played it....play it Definitely a good Mad Max Road Warrior style game for sure
I’m absolutely addicted to it. It’s a slow burn but once you start getting close to the V8 engine the games kicks in another gear. So, so good. Easily a 9/10
Also remember that this game was launched the same day as Metal Gear Solid 5, that surely made a dent in the sales and it probably didn't do as well as they thought it will.
Game is seriously one of my all time favorites. The car combat and driving just feels so good and the fighting is crunchy and brutal. And jfc those skyboxes still look incredible! That’s it, downloading this again tonight 😂
this game is basically accurate mad max lifecycle with good gameplay and stunning graphic the downside is the fact when you finished the game you become very strong but there is nothing more to fight... and sadly there is no mode to counter that i still recommend its a damn good game experience

I love how this game is finally getting the recognition it deserves. In almost every “top 10 most underrated games” videos, it’s the #1 game. I loved it and I can’t believe I got such a blast of a game for only $2!
I just picked it up on steam deck and oh man, what a great game. People say its a bit repetitive after couple hours but honestly, the world is so well built (you can feel its emptiness and hostility), characters are well written and the combat is so fun that I don't feel bored even 20 hours into the game. If you also never played it - give it a shot. It's a cash grab in 2023.
This game is awesome! There are no micro transactions, you get a huge world to explore (with different factions, every thing from outposts to full on castles, allies and enemy’s, eastereggs and a awesome landscape), the game has a super story and even death races. But still the best thing is the vehiclurar combat.

But it also impacted the base looks and the npcs attitude against you. This made the progression feel more real and rewarding instead of you just caring for yourself.
I hope a sequel gets made, and their nemesis system would be perfect.
Same I wanna see it made in Unreal Engine 5. If that happens maybe they could add Furiousa and you could customize her like you did with Max. Also the cars being customized too
Ah men you just created a need for me
Can you even imagine having nemesis drivers that shout hilariously corny/edgy things when they show up? We're talking about the best game ever made here.
Are you saying this mixed with Shadow of Mordor/War?
@@nathaniel3867bro you’re making me want that game bro cause I’m playing thru mad max now and it’s amazing
Criminally underrated game... It's such a great game. Sad that it didn't get more recognition
I thought the game was going to be so boring. I was so wrong. This is one of the most fun games I've played. And I think the reason behind it is the car combat and explosions. So good.
Best fire animations in any game ever.
Easily my favourite game of all time. I’ve been a Mad Max nut since I was a kid so this was pretty much a love letter to me. Really needs a sequel.
Your FAVORITE game of all time???
Dude c'mon now
@@GORILLA_PIMPwell this is his opinion, for me the goat is Dota 2 because I had so many good memories that I literally can’t replace with other game
Mad max definitely influenced my tastes in pop culture. This game knocked it out of the park.
I bet you didn't play more than 2 games maximum
so good, got it on promotion and it really feels like a 20+ hours mad max movie, I enjoyed every second of it so far
Nope. They patented the thing and said “fuck you” to the videogame industry by never using or letting anyone else use it again apparently. Pricks.
Hell yes this is a great idea
I just fucking mentioned the Nemesis system before scrolling down to this comment. Spot on.
...Avalanche didn't make the Nemesis system...

I absolutely love this game. The gameplay itself gets a little repetitive by the end, but the unbelievable world that they build, the visuals, the atmosphere they create, keeps me coming back time and time again. I have beaten it at least four times, I will probably be playing it until I die!
Yeah, the game is just awesome :)
And then you’ll live again!

Love it ❤
A Mad Max sequel game with the nemesis system for different crazies would be a dream
Considering a new mad max movie is coming out soon I have high hopes for a new mad max game
True
Maybe something like the Shadow of War system with Mad Max?
Don’t do that don’t give me hope
@@alexandric08 thats the nemesis system
This game and days gone are two massively underrated gems. That completely 100% deserved sequels. Currently playing this game for my 7th or so time. The first time I ever played it I wasn't actually expecting much but I was blown away by just how good it actually was. If you love days gone and you love post-apocalypse games. If you love cars this game will amaze you.
“It’s like an RPG but for cars”
…so it’s a CARPG
I see what you did there…
Who’s here after the Mad Max Furiousa Furiosa sequel
One of the greatest movies I've ever seen
Yup...
YEP!!!
Definitely would love to watch a critique or retrospective on this game!
IGN would be like "too much sand".
I’d recommend watching Whitelight’s video on it, he does really in depth examinations of games. It’s an interesting watch if you’ve got the time.
I think it’s scummy that they had a trophy connected to the server but did nothing about it when they shut them down and made it unattainable unless you completed the requirement beforehand.
Yep complete BS
8 years, god I'm old
I guess i'm old too
8 years old is young yall
If you think that makes you feel old, think about those of us who remember when the nearest you could get to a "mad max computer game" was the arcade game Spy Hunter.
@@freakygoblin3068 I remember that game. There was also a game called Outlander I can't remember if it was on the Sega Megadrive or Nintendo.
Unless you clearly remember playing Duke Nukem 3d on your pc back in ‘96… you’re not even starting to get old lol
This sat on my Steam backlogs forever, and it was actually one of the first games I played on my Steam Deck when I got it. It played amazingly well.
I just played this game last week. And it still holds up, for me anyway. Awesome and a truly underrated game. Kept me more interested than Gotham Knights, and yeah, this is an 8 year old game, that takes place in a desert. Lol
Lmao they made the desert freaking more interesting than Gotham...damn lol
I still come back to this all the time.. love it.. need another with updated graphics and bigger maps
Literally picked this up 2 weeks ago and been having a blast with it. Really underrated gem
Be sure not to fast travel too much. That’s half the fun and you could miss neat stuff sometimes too.
I can’t believe 2015 was 8 years ago. I watched a play-through when it first came out while I was in 7th grade. I’ve been meaning to play it since.
I can't believe you were in 7th grade in 2015. Stay young as long as you can.
Back When We Couldn’t Afford Every Game As Kids 😭
This is probably the only very large open world game aside from Elden Ring I actually enjoyed the combat was designed and handled very well. I remember pulling an all nighter exploring every nook and cranny the game had to offer.
OMG YES. Literally one of my most favorite games of all time, and also one of the most underrated games of all time
The reason theres no sequals or dlc is because George Miller (the creator of mad max) actually sued Warner Brothers because the game is a ton of just concepts taken from early fury road and the upcomming movie Furriosa.. the game actually has some major spoilers for the upcoming Furriosa
Full critique, please. I'll definitely watch the whole thing!
Same here
It's criminal that this game wasn't the talk of the gaming world. Really great game. End game gets a tad bit tedious with the wave after wave of the same enemies but it's a must play.
Love that you brought some focus and your excellent critical analysis back to this unerrated gem! Well done, Luke!
Check out Jake Baldino, he's a big fan as well
I really felt like the car itself was a character while I played this, definitely my favorite element of the whole experience.
Days gone came to my mind too. Instead of car, bike, players loved it, reviewers hated it.
0:03 Nope, I literally refuse to believe that, it can only be a lie. Just no.
I started playing this again a few weeks ago. Such a great game.
I think another possible reason for the lack of a sequel is that this game was tied to the new mad max movie wich was supposed to be a trilogy but ended up bring canceled.
Am i the ONLY one who search's this game every month to see if someone posts a new video on it?
They usually get recommended to me
This is one of those games where it's hard to exactly put your finger on why it's so enjoyable. I think the atmosphere has a lot to do with it though - the environment is so crushingly lonely and reflective.
Been playing this for the last two months, such a great gem, love finding these type.
Stop watching videos of games and start playing 😅
This Mad Max game, man, that random sandstorm alone made for some of the most epic gaming moments I've ever had, especially if it happened to come over during a convoy battle. I never seen anything like it ever again in games. Why people thought finding 900 literal pieces of shit are what open-world games really needed?
Yes! Please do a full critique.
An underrated gem!
the weird thing about this game is that is does have a flaw and it is that the map is very 'empty' BUT I say it's weird because this emptiness does make sense in the context of the world.
I loved playing that game. Even now I will reload the game and start a new run.
2:35 So it's a CarPG.
Most underated game of all time
I just found out about Rage 2 about 2 weeks ago.. literally got so addicted to playing it , haven’t played any other game since picking it up, beat every mission and finally the story today which brought me here to this video . HIGHLY slept on game .
I really just wanted to point out I can’t help but notice how similar these 2 games look & play. I guess this game was used as a test run for Rage ? “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” works for me in this situation . Might be trying this game next. Bethesda titles im always on the lookout for
“CaRPG” was right there and you just missed it…
A great game!!! One of the most underrated games in the modern era!!! Wish they will make a second one because the Mad Max world is so rich!!!
I’m gonna give it some love eventually.
some love juice
@@eccer just spit it right into the intake
I have played this game for ages and i love the open world apocalyptic feel, with the cars and combat. I remember buying the game wanting to drive the interceptor. I really do hope that this game gets some form of sequel or updates with more cars, or a DLC of sorts. I feel it could bring players back to the game.
That game was freaking amazing, im going to start playing it again now due to this video. PLEASE do a full video on this!!!!!
The part that got cut out was the like storming area at the edges of the playfield were supposed to be a procedurally generated area. But they had to cut it, I think they had considered making it DLC later but obviously never did.
Photo mode was great too. This reminds me how much I want to replay this great game, which often looked stunning, too.
As many others have already said, this game is extremely underrated. This game so features some of the best driving mechanics and vehicle combat.
One of those games that went under the radar such a good game.
I think there is a reason why the jump is on LT, you rarely need to jump, even climbing happens with A button and evade is on RB. B button is duplicated to RT too, but works only while aming.
Once you play it for a while, it just makes totally sense.
Would love a long form critique of this
As someone who grew up watching the mad max movies with their dad, this game was just amazing fun from start to finish. Even if its the only mad max game we'll ever get, I'm just happy we got to play in that world atleast once as I've always yearned to interact with the mad max universe in some way. To top it off its even better that the game by itself was a banger
This game a clunky and incredibly sloppy jank version of Arkham Knight.
Without Arkham Knight it would be just a janky AAA game

COME, MY MINIONS....LETS RIDE ONTO THE HIGHWAY TO VALHALLA!
those who are sad, bcuz mad max is old now 👇
The property is from the 70's, its been old for a long time. And its still great
I've just bought it and I'm already completely addicted.
Still in a lot of pain that I didn’t get the 2 WB server objectives with offline scrap collecting… platinum is permanently unobtainable and I am missing a 2016 save from the PS…
I’ll still go for all the other trophies and importantly finish the story that’s how much I think this game was amazing.
This game and Mafia 3 for replayability. Both these games had an addictive melee combat system. Lincoln's knife, and Max's fists.
Trying vehicular combat in first-person gets pretty intense but fun.
I’m absolutely addicted to it. It’s a slow burn but once you start getting close to the V8 engine the games kicks in another gear. So, so good. Easily a 9/10
Second Playthrough I was going straight for the best V8 to get early as possible & then do the rest. Gives a total other feel, but loved it the most.
That’s it, downloading this again tonight 😂
this game is basically accurate mad max lifecycle with good gameplay and stunning graphic
the downside is the fact when you finished the game you become very strong but there is nothing more to fight...
and sadly there is no mode to counter that
i still recommend its a damn good game experience
Just bought it on playstation store for like 7 bucks sucha steal love the game so far !!! Sad it hasnt gotten more attention for a 8 year old game they did a amazing job!
About once a year I play MGS5 and Mad Max all the way through. One of my favorite days in my gaming history was the day this game and mgs5 came out. What a day for video games. MGS5 got my attention first naturally being a huge fan but man it is criminal how overlooked Mad Max was.
