im in the phase where i wont do my legs due to running out of space...my arms whole back chest ribs neck is all done...but legs untouched...once i do both my legs I will have zero room UNLESS I laser off my great pieces which I already have as a cover up already so
I wish I were as brave! My tattoo journey is sporadic and just for fun... I'm on this kick of only getting bats tattooed on me. Will I grow out of it? Idk... I'm working on a back piece now, I'm about 5 hours in and have to break it up due to funds and kids and stuff like that... But for now I just love being in the moment. You're incredible!
I will admit I’m in the “cool stage” seems like something everyone goes thru. I had a lot of confidence, addiction, and very dark thoughts about ending. Now it’s so different, more than just tattoos but tattooed and sober is the best life! Love the videos bro
I got my first tattoo 30 years ago. I guess I’m about 70% covered at this point. My neck and throat have been done, as well as both hands, and I imagine I’m the most heavily tattooed elementary school principal in the country. 😂 The only thing I haven’t done is face or head. I really appreciate you sharing your stages… I feel like I’ve gone through the same, but I still have the 17 year old kid in me too. I love when people make assumptions about me, and then I can tell him what I do for a living.
At this point I’m 26 and have both my arms and legs covered. I’m in the process of planning out what to do with my back and I can definitely relate to all of the phases you’ve gone through in your tattoo journey. I’d say right now I’m at the stage where I just want to collect some dope art on my body but I’ve also always kinda been that way lol. I’ve wanted to be covered in tattoos since I was a kid. The art of tattooing has always fascinated me and for a long time I wanted to be a tattoo artist. So the urge to collect tattoos because I love the art form has always been my driving force but as I get older I’ve definitely been more intentional about the pieces that I get on my body. And I spend a lot more time planning pieces that are more connected to who I am as a person and the things that I am interested in.
& I too relate to you with wanting to look cool by having tattoos. But over time.. I started to get meaningful tattoos for lost loved ones & reminders to keep on going with life
Goddamn, I’ve been watching your videos since before the leg sleeve with the fake hand tattoo days in Quarantine, hearing this is the final part of the journey seems unreal. It’s awesome seeing the progress over the years and I can’t wait for the finishing pieces and last leg sleeve!
I'm in a couple at the same time: research, spiritual, getting them for my self-esteem, and yet not caring what others think. My personal belief is that there is power/significance in having visuals become a part of your body, so I want to choose art that will build me up as a person. I also love visual art, am an artist myself, and would love for art to be a part of me physically as well as spiritually.
I was lucky to find my tattoo artest from a freinds recommendation, though I still have work planned with him I feel my ideas have grown. After watching your videos I started getting tattoos for me that showed no matter what people throught and now I think I am moving into travel for different tattoos. My last peice was an Anubis and Thoth heart weighing design in which I traveled to a new tattoo shop who had a great artest over from Brazil. It made me realise that having a change of style for different work is just as impactive as having a good tattoo design. I am now looking at different artest who might be able to bring some of my ideas to life and help me move forward in my tattoo journey, while at the same time ones that will work well and enhance what I already have. Thanks Justin for such good advice, I look forward to your cheast peice vidioe.
Getting my first tattoo tomorrow! Have travelled to italy to get it so I guess i've jumped to the last stage straight away haha. I've binged your content the last couple of months. Your videos have been extremley helpfull in preparing for this journey. Thanks so much, i'm pumped!
I’ve just found your channel & binge watched some of your videos where you’re getting tattooed. Your work is absolutely stunning , I couldn’t believe your back piece , it’s so amazing! I started getting tattooed when I was 20 & I am 25 soon. I got my first cover up on my arm this year & I’ve never felt more excruciating pain & I’ve had my palm done! I’ve got my arms , hands , thigh & calves tattooed. I am focusing on covering my arms first. My grandad is my tattoo idol 😂 he’s covered all over & he’s in his 70’s! His recent work on his legs are beautiful , all different animals. He would go & get tattooed & not tell anyone 😂
Wow, I have watched this channel for friggin ages, and I have been more focussed on the content and your awesome art work and hadn't noticed you had a cochlear implant. I have learned heaps from your channel
I'm still in the planning stages of my tattoo journey. I'm 30 and am waiting to find the perfect piece/art that I can't get enough of looking at. I have various design ideas in mind.
i got my first tattoo at 34 - full leg sleeve, traveled to lithuania (from the US) to get it done in 2 trips, 4 days each trip. so yeah, i skipped the teenager mistakes and am grateful i started late because i don't have garbage work and i wouldn't be able to pay $1k a day of work at 18.
I think the same, here i Brazil you can get good tatts for good price, but because i startet at 28 (this year), i already paid R$ 750,00, witch is like, 65% of the montly minimum wage here. And my next one will cost around R$ 2.100,00, witch is a LOT for brazillians. mostly people are not willing to pay so much and, therefore, i see a lot of bad tatts on the street. I'm glad i only started now bcs i already started with good work.
awesome video bro. appreciate you being open and honest with everything!! i def get what you mean by wanting to get them to look "cool" i felt i gained alot of confidence in myself a swell from getting my sleeve
Interesting video man. Still at stage one here, have none. I am 37 so for me getting one in order to look cool, that's no reason for me. Really like the idea of traveling to get something from a specific artist. I travel a lot myself.
I’m 28, started getting tatted last year and already have a full sleeve that I completed last week lol for me personally, since I just started im in the “cool” stage and I won’t even lie, im relatively new to the tattoo realm and I love it so far…
my first at 21, good piece, great artwork, on my thigh and memorial and honorable tat for my tortoise i had given to a sanctuary for a better life but raised since a hatchling n heavily bonded with will only do a thigh sleeve n going to make it four diff themes tied into together nice n flowy
Almost done with my sleeve on my left arm, it's not the first tattoo work I've had done but it is the most substantial by far. The confidence that comes from having people see what you want them to see when they look at you is something I didn't really expect, it's super cool to me. Definitely getting tattooed to look 'cool' but I love the artwork I currently have and the way it's made me feel about myself
I am 19, Tattoo Stage 1 with my first tattoo beeing a full irezumi style sleeve. Still work in progress. Lot more ideas and love the idea of traveling somewhere for a tattoo
If you take anything from this video man A lot of your views and styles will change so keep that in mind You don't need to completely piece yourself up right now there's a very high chance at by the time you're 26 you're going to be on to different styles and artists may not like your old stuff you'll also be more knowledgeable of other artists and very good quality work and hopefully you got that now I'm not saying you don't but the one recommendation I have is a slow down I wish I have because I have some big pieces that I really don't like that much
I can totally relate to this. I've grown to love my tattoo artist's artwork and I want my sleeves to match, but I also want artwork from other artists.
I’m very much a beginner tattooee. I have a simple script message that resonates with on my chest as a, “trial” instead of jumping straight into a full colour sleeve… which I have booked for mid July. This a memory multi-tribute piece for me. Can’t wait… kinda nervous 😅
Pretty much In the same boat. I have to utilize the little bit of space I have the right way. All I have left is stomach and back and I think I wanna just travel and get those done
I’m in the top quality work stage. I’m 22 now and was looking at getting a tattoo at 18 for the cool stage but didn’t go through with it. Thankfully I didn’t and waited until now to be able to afford something special
I have just started getting tattooed I am into patchwork so I have plenty of room left but working on my arms right now and then my back the journey is the best 👍🏻
I've had a big(few years) break from getting tattood and I have my first one after the break booked in July! I'm getting my knee done and I'm terrified of the pain 😂 I am also in thr same kind of stage. I don't regret any of my tattoos but I definitely have a very different plan than I did when I got my first one at 18.
Traveling is the way to go. I'm actually in Miami right now for a 2 day session with Alejandro Tejeda to finish my left sleeve. Starts tomorrow. I travel from coast to coast for my tattoos. My other arm artist is in LA.
Absolutely fantastic video man. I entered the very same 6th stage earlier this year when I went to the Gods Of Ink convention in Frankfurt! Amazing experience and now I'm happy to consider myself a collector :)
My stage of tattooing is that i finished a sleeve on my leg yesterday, the most painful thing ever. the back of the leg behind the knee. I have a sleeve tattooed on the upper part of my arm, there is still a forearm left, which I will finish after the summer. Then I start tattooing the whole back.
I recently had my right hand done and while sitting there I think I realized I was done even though I don't have my chest finished I think I can live with it.
& although some people love my tattoos & art work while others hate it.. i do it for no one else but myself bc it makes me happy & it is my body after all
I feel you man I got a memorial done for my best friend on my back.. we severed together in the Marine Corps it’s probably my top favorite tattoo.. im in the stage of getting what I love.. it’s a slow process but I’m trying to get my body covered lol started at 18 and now 36 I think I’ve come a very long way!! Keep up the great videos
I'm 30 and have been getting tattooed since 17 and I am definitely in the traveling and running out of space category! It's becoming harder and harder to plan things out since I'm almost out of usable space
Ayo, 0:30 lookin swole 💪🏼 u look like you were/ are about fitness, have u considered making fitness content or a separate channel? I think that would be a cool idea and you bring a fresh look with the tattoos that would draw eyes into the fitness space
I'm 26 and have my upper arm tattooed dedicated to my dad first ever tattoo was when I was 17 hoping to get my forearm done for him soon so I'd say I'm in the meaningful stage since I was a kid I always wanted a forearm tattoo they are so sick
Agree 100 percent. I got my first one which is my family's last name. Martin. Got it and blended all the other tattoos around it and fell in love with getting tattoos. Now I've got two full sleeves my hands are tatted and I'm about to get a full chest piece. Your an inspiration to us man. Don't worry about what anyone thinks💯 your tattoos are badass
i am just beginning! when i started, from watching Ink Master, it was more of an interest at that point and this was in my early 20s. but now, I'm 30, I really do want a tattoo. i have a small one already picked out i want to get on my right hand between thumb and pointer finger. i do have a few ideas already and got some boards on Pinterest to in some way, to describe all i want in my tattoo. but here is my thing - i made a choice early on i didn't want my tattoos to take away from me, seeing me. i don't mind if people notice them, i just don't want them to overshadow me. and the majority if not all will be in black n' grey, but i do have at least one (of two) that will have some color, but will be something that will have meaning to me and my personality.
I’m 17 I have 5 tattoos so far I will admit that the first one was to make me feel cool but it also had meaning anyways now I’m at the point where I get them because I just like the imagery I don’t really care what others think anymore I get them for me
I’m on my second tattoo sleeve and already at stage 5 lmfao but that’s cause I started out at stage 4. Never cared for being cool or what people thought just want a cool body suit.
I'm definitely dedicating some of my tattoos to my mother, but I want the quality, too, since it will be visible. Gotta get the money for that first, haha. I have no tattoos, but I imagine them on my body. If younger me got any tattoos, I would definitely have to cover it up. I would 100% travel for mine, especially if my future sleeve is Japanese and mythology inspired.
I believe I am probably in the fourth stage where I am looking for a quality style tattoos, finding my style and enjoying the art. I've got somewhere like 16 or 17 tattoos, some of which I am getting removed so I am researching my artists much more and planning out my pieces more carefully.
Hey mate, thanks for sharing your journey and background of them. I’ve been following you for a long time. Isn’t it funny how fken mean we are as kids and with some years under our belts we get to appreciate the love and just people for being people. I must admit I had a chuckle remembering your Suck A kciD tattoo Vlog. Some true meanings behind your journey. Got a place here in Sydney, Australia if that’s one of your next artist. Awesome Vlog. Sean
I’ve got only 4 right now, but I know I want more…started when I turned 18 and most recent one was done a year ago…..about 20 years after I started 😂 I want to get one on my forearm next
First phase is relatable af, iam now in the last phase too but i got hell of a space on me, just waiting for money to come and then collect every fucin tattoo artist
I kinda dont fit into those categories, i am bridging between two i guess, currently getting tattos for myself and not caring what others think, but also to commemorate my story in life (places ive been, challenges ive faced, people close to me etc)
Currently 23. Bday was the other day. & so far I have 2 arm sleeves, hands done, fingers as well, rib quotes, chest semi done & will be soon starting on my neck, my back, my thighs, my calves & my feet (which ik will hurt like a mother but hey.. it needs to be done😂😂
I'm turning 17 soon so I plan for my 18th birthday to do my first tattoo lower left leg portrait of Cesar. I honestly don't think of money and expensiveness and waiting time for tattoo because I don't want to end up pissed up with the quality and design...
I'm 26, I'll be 27 in a few months, and I feel like I'm kind of in two stages you mentioned. Currently I have my chest done, it's mostly family related with religion tied in. Good piece, but I still don't have any ink that shows when I'm fully clothed. So I think I'm still in the "cool" phase a little bit because I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited about getting a sleeve so other people can actually SEE my tattoos 😂. Also, I'm feeling more like getting ink just for myself at the same time. The chest piece included family, and similar to you, when i started it with a verse it was almost partially like a justification for getting something, because it was spiritual. That's all good, but the sleeve idea has a bit more that's just about me. Still meaningful, but also more focused on things that I really like/think are cool. Haven't been tatted since 2020 but hopefully this sleeve happens in a few months, been waiting a while to get it 🤞🏾
What's up men how was your trip to france? i hope it was fantastic. I think im in stage 1 because i only have 2 tattoos, but im planning to get more. I love tattoos and like you say is amazing to get other artist to do work with them.💪🏾
I'm not sure what %it would be classed in as coverage but been getting tattooed close to 10yrs and think it's say in between stage 4 and 5 haha haven't travelled for tattoos at this stage 😁
I owe it to my dad when i was 18 telling me not to go for a tattoo unless it was of much thought/quality (I was willing to settle for a cheap lion tattoo on my right arm at the time bc my friends were getting tattoos). Now at 26 i got my whole right arm tattooed with only dope pieces that get complements from others and they have deep meanings to my identity as a person. Waiting all those years was worth it haha
I stopped counting my tattoos when I got to around 40. I guess I'm at the slow down and be very selective about what you get next stage. I have saved my back, chest and butt cheeks for realism. For me personally I want the best artists I can find to fill in the blanks. Would I travel abroad?, yes I have seen amazing artists in France, Poland and Malta. Time will tell if i get out there 🤣
love the fact you said you "saved' some places like "yeah, this place is too good to spend in some tiny simple, design" need something awesme. I planed to save my back to a huge realism piece too
Never tattooed. Don’t plan on getting one either. The artwork is amazing. I don’t like needles and the ink cannot be good in your lymph nodes. I do like them on other people.
I thought that was a Bluetooth device on your ear for making these vids like a mic, haha didnt even noticed the ears mate, and im a big ugly bloke and at first glance in your vids your an intimidating strong man .. than you speak and your so kind to your viewers , you definitely conquered your demons . ..when the body suit is done maybe consider than going through with some funky glow ink in spots for a second run hahaha
@@justinkd would love to share mine with you. The least would be the look cool option, but there is a portion of that still there. I think if you view it you would understand.
Lol sorry man honestly don’t notice your hearing aid ever till you pointed it out maybe tattoos make you cool lol wish I had some ideas and money to get some art. Love your channel always keep up the good work
Be honest, what phase ARE YOU IN?
Also, my FULL CHEST tattoo is now out! let me know what you think of it th-cam.com/video/7WltTDfgcQk/w-d-xo.html😉👊🏼

I’m currently working on my full North American themed tattoo on my right arm I have 45% stuff done so far
I'll admit my first tattoo was to stand out and I got that in my 30's. I am getting more now at 50, and they are for me now.
Amazing work bro. 👊
I'm in the beginning stage of my tattoo journey. 😊
Great video bro . U talkin real
Appreciate the love 🙏🏼
Agree 100 percent. I got my first one which is my family's last name. Martin. Got it and blended all the other tattoos around it and fell in love with getting tattoos. Now I've got two full sleeves my hands are tatted and I'm about to get a full chest piece. Your an inspiration to us man. Don't worry about what anyone thinks💯 your tattoos are badass
I almost have my 2nd sleeve done, getting worried cuz I'm running out of room on my arms.
Well said brother 👏
i am just beginning! when i started, from watching Ink Master, it was more of an interest at that point and this was in my early 20s. but now, I'm 30, I really do want a tattoo. i have a small one already picked out i want to get on my right hand between thumb and pointer finger. i do have a few ideas already and got some boards on Pinterest to in some way, to describe all i want in my tattoo. but here is my thing - i made a choice early on i didn't want my tattoos to take away from me, seeing me. i don't mind if people notice them, i just don't want them to overshadow me. and the majority if not all will be in black n' grey, but i do have at least one (of two) that will have some color, but will be something that will have meaning to me and my personality.
I think i have always been in yhe traveling for tattoos stage.
Forgot u had a head tatto ,into u brought it up, looks badass lol probably said this before too hahah
I’m 17 I have 5 tattoos so far I will admit that the first one was to make me feel cool but it also had meaning anyways now I’m at the point where I get them because I just like the imagery I don’t really care what others think anymore I get them for me
I’m in my tribal tattoo stage got two done on both four arms😎
Just because of u. I feel all the same. Tattooing just makes u feel good about yourself 😅
First phase is relatable af, iam now in the last phase too but i got hell of a space on me, just waiting for money to come and then collect every fucin tattoo artist
Great video! 👊🏽
When are you going to release the chest piece video?
I kinda dont fit into those categories, i am bridging between two i guess, currently getting tattos for myself and not caring what others think, but also to commemorate my story in life (places ive been, challenges ive faced, people close to me etc)
Bro if you went to france im hoping you went to see sandry riffard for your chest piece!
I’m in the stage where I no longer care what people think and I’m doing it for the love of body art. Getting my hand piece done in a few months
I love tattoos and like you say is amazing to get other artist to do work with them.💪🏾
What's really crazy is until you mentioned it i didn't notice your ears or hearing implant and I've been following you for close to a year.
I’m 24 with no tattoos but in a way I’m happy about it : ) I’m going to save up and get just killer pieces
I'm not sure what %it would be classed in as coverage but been getting tattooed close to 10yrs and think it's say in between stage 4 and 5 haha haven't travelled for tattoos at this stage 😁
The stage of “I don’t care what people think of me, I wanna get tattoos of shit I like” there is it where I’m at
I owe it to my dad when i was 18 telling me not to go for a tattoo unless it was of much thought/quality (I was willing to settle for a cheap lion tattoo on my right arm at the time bc my friends were getting tattoos). Now at 26 i got my whole right arm tattooed with only dope pieces that get complements from others and they have deep meanings to my identity as a person. Waiting all those years was worth it haha
10/10 you’re a good dude
Thanks 🥹
Did you go to Sandry Riffard?
Im on day 21 days healing stage,
My vitaminC have a +glutathione whitening effect to skin, can i take this vitaminC everyday even ihave Tattoo?
You should do some workout videos on your channel. Looking at your old pictures and now you look jacked asf 💪
I planed to save my back to a huge realism piece too
I'm at stage 1
mine were honestly always for ME! but sure if someone told me they like it it feels good for sure, but tha's not my point of doing them :)
Stage 5
I’m in the I need more and not satisfied after the other
When you are done, you have to find somewhere high to stand and yell "THIS IS MY FINAL FORM!"
DEAL. SO DOING THIS 😂👌🏼
Never tattooed. Don’t plan on getting one either.
The artwork is amazing. I don’t like needles and the ink cannot be good in your lymph nodes.
I do like them on other people.
I thought that was a Bluetooth device on your ear for making these vids like a mic, haha didnt even noticed the ears mate, and im a big ugly bloke and at first glance in your vids your an intimidating strong man .. than you speak and your so kind to your viewers , you definitely conquered your demons . ..when the body suit is done maybe consider than going through with some funky glow ink in spots for a second run hahaha
can call it the glow phase ahahah
I’m in the stage of wanting all these tattoos but not having enough money yet 😂😂
I feel like the themes from one through six can be carried out simultaneously.
Kinda but that would be very hard for most
@@justinkd How do I send you a pic of my back piece? - I’ve been digging your videos
@@justinkd would love to share mine with you. The least would be the look cool option, but there is a portion of that still there. I think if you view it you would understand.
I'm 20 and i'm saving money to travel and be tattooed by Sandry 😅
Lol sorry man honestly don’t notice your hearing aid ever till you pointed it out maybe tattoos make you cool lol wish I had some ideas and money to get some art. Love your channel always keep up the good work
Thank you 🙏🏼 and glad you enjoy the channel
