I made light sanding to wood to the joint before gluing and then moisturized it because i used polyurethan glue. The joint would be indeed more secure if the oil wasnt used..
Nice looking knife, but it deserved a better heat treatment, in a temperature controlled kiln. The handle, although nice in color, texture and general shape, it looks too bulky and unfinished with those sharp edges, it will hurt the hand if used for prolonged periods, been there, done that. I mean it as a constructive critique, not bashing your work. Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback! Some of my equipments are quite "primitive" especially forge. Findig right temperatures are not the easiest task.. Those sharp edges was my idea to challenge myself because in my opinion it is harder to make symmetrical sharp shape than round shape (with my equipments). Never done shape like that before. I know that it is not the best shape for hands but it feels surprisingly good though :)
Very beautiful knife and sheath. I love it. ~Kevin
Thanks!
Beautiful knife, it would be even better is you could see the damascus in the tang as well...
Interesting to see you use vinegar instead of stronger chemicals. Thanks for the vid. Jim Bell (Australia)
It's a very beautiful 🔪 knife, you're like a master of the Pros!!! I like the way you make Puukko better, of course. 👍✊️🤝
Great work as always 👍👍
great work! Was the steel already heat treated?
Thanks! No it wasn't
Arcydzieło sztuki rzemieślniczej👍
Jak skóra została przytwierdzona do drewnianej pochwy?
Sklejona, czy podczas schnięcia mocno się zacisnęła?
Thanks! I used glue in the joint

👍 need to get bigger cobalt drill bit and try that sometime :)

Hi! Waxed polyester thread
