It’s the selfishness in us all to want the finer things. Unfortunately toolboxes are like jewelry, they aren’t worth near what they were when bought new.

I wasn’t there for the live personal stories. If it was booze then fe free to delete the comments. But I’ve helped many with budgets. Many times drinks ( energy, coffee, beer and alcohol add up when people try to not even count it as it’s just a few bucks. Most if they give up the daily habits can have nice vacations and money to spare. Hold yourself accountable

At the end of the day, it's a box for tools. Fu has been there and done that...if you got monry issues, 1) cut all wasteful expenses. All. Icluding booze ans smokes. 2) Get a better paying job. They do exist. Unless your current gig is indispensable (insurance, etc.), move on. Otherwise you are on the hamster wheel until you heart and soul give out. Good luck!

Spend some time watching the Dave Ramsey channel, called The Ramsey Show. Short videos where he and his minions advise every day people how to get themselves financially squared away. But I will tell you, they don't coddle people with their advice. It's basically tough love that is aimed at stopping the stupid money decisions like piling up credit card debt. They teach how to get out debt, basically by work/work/work to make money, restricting spending (no eating out until debts are paid off), and in relatively short time, people can get on solid financial ground. Out of debt, built an emergency fund, and deal from a position of financial strength instead of bouncing from one financial quagmire to another.

Marco boxes are harder to sell 2nd hand because the warranty doesnt transfer. I know if i tried to sell my Snap On triple bank with power top, I'd be lucky to get half of the 8k i paid for it, and its basically brand new since it was replaced under warranty due to rust and has been storaged since. I just saw the Gen 3 triple bank with hutch yesterday in person and it is nice, was 1700 for the box and 600 for the hutch at my location.

now imagine if he kept that icon he got for free along with the cornwell box and stayed at rons a couple years ago how pretty he'd be sitting. ive been watching of and on for many years and it seem when justins up, he gets a wild hair and then hes down. up and down up and down up and down. if he would have stayed in the jamestown box, hed have $15k+ in his pocket...now thats hes talking about going BACK to a cart.
being a blue collar worker, theres no quick way to get ahead for us. its a grind. if you just steady eddie it for a few years, live well within your means, youd have enough money to do/get what you want....in cash. those who are always chasing the bigger, better, newest thing seem to always get knocked back to the basics by life. its not about getting what you want, its wanting what you have.
but...each to their own. God bless.

Sold my Matco 5 S for only $1100, to get myself out of a jam? Told myself I'd sell my car before I sold my "baby"? 4 years later, got myself a HF 72" box, and though not comparable, It's only job, is to hold my fortune of tools, which it does, just fine? Sometimes you have to make sacrifices in life, and you live and learn? Good luck, sir.

You should listen to some Dave Ramsey. Honestly if I were you I would sell the box and bike. You may feel as though you NEED a motorcycle but you definitely don't NEED a harley. You could easily buy a good jap bike for 1/3 of the price and have just as much fun on it and ditch that payment too. So like let's say you got 8k which honestly I doubt it but let's just go with 8k. Okay now pay off your 3k in debt. Buy the HF box for 3k. That leaves you with 2k. Go buy a jap motorcycle. Sell the harley and wow your now 800 bucks ahead each month. Priorities man, I delayed getting a harley for a long time until I could buy a good used one in cash. Cash is king.

I was drinking at least one pack a day, sometimes two. Having just one pack, that’s, $4,700 dollars after income taxes a year, well over six grand pre tax.

After a 7 year hiatus from the garage, I might be returning due to the shitty company I work for downsizing. Buying a new box is what I'm dreading the most. I outgrew my 40 inch box before I left the field and now getting back into the field gives me chills just knowing I have to put out 2k on a new box.
Good luck man and take care

Us General toolboxes are good they definitely upgrade a lot from the past. Craftsman toolbox in Lowe’s isn’t bad either too, had one for sometime now.

Why you on here spreading lies about craftman ? Craftsman is the crappiest crap in a world of crap. ESPECIALLY their paper thin cheesy tool boxes

I feel ya. Just sold my Nissan 240sx I have had for 24 years. Part of it was from my high school 240sx. I paid off some debt tho. Feeling good about it.
