  • The Dangerbird, is a unique 250-mile bikepacking group ride (not race) on the Monumental Loop through Las Cruces, Mesilla, Hatch, and the vast Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument.
The Monumental Loop, a Figure 8, showcases the geological marvels of Southern New Mexico across rarely ridden singletrack, backcountry dirt roads, and sandy washes. The bikepacking route was designed to explore the vast beauty of the area, and spanning 500,000 acres, this unique journey unfolds across four distinct regions: the majestic Organ Mountains, the hidden gems of Doña Anas, Las Uvas, and the enchanting Potrillos, known as Cone Country.
Riders can complete one or both loops with journeys lasting anywhere from FKT attempts in under 24 hours or more than a week to take in all the beauty. But on average it takes 5-6 days.
The event features the Safetybird, a beginner-friendly overnight bike ride covering approximately 25 miles. It's designed to be less challenging than the Dangerbird, providing newcomers with a gentler introduction to bikepacking.

I can only imagine how good a green chili burger in Hatch NM would be. Nice video buddy.

I Think it's weird that people don't pair up at the start. How lonely 🥺

That’s the beauty of this event. You end up with people that go your same speed. I’ve made many lifelong friends doing these things that I would have never met before. 🙂
