My family and I came from London for a massive family meet up with other family members from various parts of the world. Some we hadn’t seen for years! We stayed in one of Adrean & Cassie’s ABB in Portmore and had a wonderful time. I couldn’t believe I was actually meeting them in the flesh. They are a beautiful couple. We had a wonderful time. I’m so missing being there and would love to live in JA in the future. First time visiting Portmore and it gives you food for thought in terms of buying property there. Thank you Adrean and Cass for a great stay. It was so nice meeting you both and of course your lovely mum. Best wishes ❤

A couple of Potential Retuning Residents who furnished their home in a gated Community got everything cleaned out of their home , as soon as they left Jamaica. The house that they were planning to return to live in permanently was totally emptied! 🤔🙏❤️🔥🔥🇯🇲🇨🇦

Yes Airbnb crazy. In a villa that I own it happened to other hosts in Negril where Jamaicans booked them from kingston and then robbed the place. Honestly I find more scammers on Airbnb I don’t know why, but I see VRBO or Trip Advisor having this. Crazy. But I am normally suspicious when they don’t have flight details or book and want to come same this time. Also when they have many references or they just join Airbnb . It’s hard. Just be careful guys it rough.

You guys did the right thing and never let your guard down even when they seem nice. For eg I don’t give any log in information until they arrive and I don’t allow anyone to collect the keys unless it’s the person who register . Be also weary of Jamaicans who are locally who want to rent as that’s also another scam too. Thanks for the info and we just have to be vigilant
Love this expose on that shady TH-camr. I disagree with some though regarding all African TH-camrs. The few that I’ve watched gave a positive and balanced view of Jamaica and I’ve enjoyed their content for the well researched and experienced view/. I’m talking such as Dee, Shorn and Wodemaya. Can’t speak for the others because I don’t watch them. It’s for views yes, but its symbiotic- both Jamaica, small business vendors and their pockets benefit; it’s a win-win

Hi guys all airbnb should have camera's inside and outside their building safety for the guest and the owners too
Luckily this was not what it appeared, and the cameras prove this. I stayed in my first Air BnB in the U.S. and the hostess was leaving to go out of town when I arrived. After I completed my stay the hostess e-mailed me and said her cleaning person accused me of hitting her vehicle, and she was going to look at the camera. If I hit her vehicle, I would have had dents or scratches on my vehicle. I would have also knocked on the hostess door to let the person know I hit their vehicle, that's why I have auto insurance. Well after the hostess checked the cameras, she saw that I did not hit her cleaning person's vehicle. So it works both ways, sometimes dishonest host will try to charge you extra for something that you did not do. I could have given this hostess a poor rating, but the fact that she did not take her cleaning person's word and viewed her camera, spoke to her integrity.

Can B & B hosts also get connected with local security companies that sends them a notification each time someone approaches the house or exit . You need to have additional security that gies to the house with you once you are running over to check on something. PLEASE! YOU ARE GOOD PEOPLE AND I WANT YLU GUYS TO BE SAFE

Thats why I'm scared to do Airbnb, I prefer long-term rent, I'm not going spend thousands of dollars fix up place and then people mash it up or steal my stuff, people wicked. Side note when u buying appliances or fixtures you can shop at Bargain Centres e.g Courts. I wouldn't buy new furniture or appliance to let anyone destroy it.

The security guard don’t know the reason why the person is going to their home. You just give the person name to the security and when your guest gets there they just give their name and ID
They should NOT be renting NO airbnb in any gated complex a greedy these house own greedy one beside me NO rest .. all kind a ppl..if I see they moving out the things I would NEVER open my mouth .. simple look how ppl a look house fe rent .. greedy set

If you’re placing cameras inside the house/apartment you have to notify your guest.
It’s illegal. Previously in some unique cases, cameras could have been placed inside common spaces of shared homes like the living room but not inside bedrooms. Now cameras are only allowed outside.

If someone is living overseas, I guess they have to hire a caretaker who lives on site permanently in a separate room and have security cameras all around the exterior of the premises. That’s going to be a challenge finding the right person. Especially as I’m not from that community. Any advice is welcomed🤷🏾♂️

It’s not wether u agree or disagree. It’s about what history shows. Last minute bookings tend to be risky due due parties, drugs, robbery or other illicit activities. Most hosts still accept them but are more cautious.

I used this example to prove the point that it is a buyers market because you are among the people in JAMAICA who love to chant about Sellers Market when nutten nuh go suh,!!! Maybe you have been referring to some of the new build developments and this is where people are excited to purchase because they are gated and have plans to turn the properties into things like Air BNB investments, but that alone cannot constitute a sellers market in describing the buying and selling of Jamaica's real estate!!!! Now you have got Lady Saw who is all over social media crying that her big house in a nice residential neighbourhood what was originally listed for $$60 million to pay out some compensation to an old Lady who dogs bite up !!! OF COURSE, it so transpired that the Lawyers and as well as the courts realise that after a number of years that the house has ZERO prospects of being sold .THIS IS WHY IT IS CALLED A BUYERS MARKET!!!! BECAUSE IF IT WAS A SELLERS MARKET THE HOUSE WOULD NOT BE TAKING OVER 10 YEARS TO SELL !!! That the court have to turn around and remove the property listings and instead sell nice piece of residential land that Lady SAW OWNS which is what she is crying so hard about this week on social media, BECAUSE a realistically priced piece of land really will sell which is what the bright lawyers and judges have figured out after all these years that the real estate market is one where house really hard fi sell in LADY SAW's own words!!!!
