I am sorry to what you went through. Your experience is an eye opening to Filipinas that are looking for foreigner husbands. Have you ever heard of the stages of a relationship though? According to the experts, there are 3 stages of a relationship: The beginning - meaning - the courtship and dating period. During this time, both of you are trying real hard to be the perfect person. It doesn't matter how long the dating period is but this stage is when you are both intensely attracted and infatuated unfortunately, this is the deceiving period. Red Flags appears but you can't recognized them because of strong connection you shared. Second stage is when your guy propose and you accepted, marriage follows. After the honeymoon, little changes start to show but being in love, it's not yet apparent to you. As days go by the good relationship start to unravel. Little things turn into bickering. The little bickering turn into serious fighting, accusation, pointing at each whose fault or who started the fight - unnecessary fights until you can no longer stand each other. And, that's where the third stage comes - it's your choice - whether to stay married and put up with the shit of your husband and suffer or leave to preserve your remaining sanity.
Oh Donna, I’m sorry to hear that I went through the same thing. People! If you start with any relationship and you already feel drained and emotionally tired listen thats your body telling you something up!. No matter how much they try to justify their behaviour. I too! Let myself go but I still get men wanting me. There’s days I wish I wore head to toe clothing to stop them being insecure. I’ve dealt with narcissistic tendencies. I knew something was not right when there was a video of him crying that he couldn’t be there and you were just new. And the biggest red flag for me having a camera where you sleep or camera on you 24/7 He was showing signs of depression, controlling and somewhat trauma bonding.

I agree with the idea that you cannot change someone from who they really are. Yes, don’t fall in love with the potential. However, because I live in the USA and I am a very independent woman, I pride myself in being able to provide for myself and my family. I don’t need a man to do any of that for me. I would not be happy just being a stay at home wife, but that’s just me and me having a career of my own. This is so accurate. I been in a long time relationship with my ex Korean boyfriend and one thing I learn is fill your own cup first ladies. Don't commit in a relationship because you want it but because it's godly purpose I know we are in a rush always but good things are worth to wait. And I can say God save me from that relationship. Heal first so you don't portray your pain into your partner. And your partner are not the one who will be the source of your happiness it's important that you are completely happy and contented before you enter in any relationship it's a must. My marriage is good our relationship is really awesome and we're married for 10yrs..of course its normal there is up and down...there's no perfect marriage i would say,..and we're divorced for 5 months now..yes its hard mentally emotionally affected its hurting me a lot..but time goes by for 5months i learned to accept everything and leave everything to god..THE MOMENT YOU ACCEPT THE SITUATIONS EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE..LET GO OF THAT PAIN AND DONT DWELL ON THE PAST CAUSE ITS ALREADY PASSED . .
