Rolled Tacos on the Griddle

- Rolled tacos on the griddle are an easy and tasty appetizer to make on your Camp Chef or Blackstone flat top grill. And you can add whatever meat or cheeses that you like to them… We browned some ground beef and added my favorite taco seasoning, plus we used some leftover shredded chicken from our favorite Mexican restaurant.
Be sure to look out for a few easy tips to make rolling the corn tortillas for your flat top grill rolled tacos a success:
- See how I mix cornstarch and water to form a “glue” to use to hold the rolled tacos together.
- Watch how I use paper towels, some water, and the heat of the flat top grill to create a little “steamer” to keep the corn tortillas warm and pliable while I roll them.
- Check out my oil bottle trick for shallow frying on the flat top grill (just like I did with the fried dill pickle spears).
Serve your rolled tacos with your favorite Mexican toppings like pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, or taco sauce.
These rolled tacos on the griddle would make an awesome game day appetizer or even a Saturday lunch! Enjoy!

Huge hit with my whole family today! 88 year old grandma loved them the most. Threw a diced onion and green pepper on the grill too and mixed with the beef! Thanks dude your channel is the best!!!
That is awesome...thanks for the story and feedback
Taquitos! A favorite no matter where you live! Now I gotta try them on the griddle.
Now for a funny... When one of my kids was small, the song "Tequila makes her clothes fall off" was always on the radio...but, not knowing what tequila was, she sang "Taquitos make her clothes fall off" It kinda stuck 🤣😂
I love that thats hilarious. My youngest daughter used to try to say dollar general, and it would come out dollar dinner roll. it has stuck to this day. load up the car and ill say lets go to dollar dinner roll. HHAHAHA
Those bad boys look awesome, Neal!
Heck ya. Dip them things in queso and wow
I’ve been thinking about tacos and quesadillas but wasn’t sure how the meat would do but you covered it perfectly. Thanks again for all your knowledge
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpfull
Must do today to say good bye to this beautiful Sunday. thanks for sharing!
Enjoy both brother. Thats what food is all about.
@@TheFlatTopKing , gracias maestro!!
Good looking flautas or taquitos. 👍🔥
Hey thanks....
En algunos lugares de México le llaman tacos dorados( crispy) en tortilla de maíz, la flauta es en tortilla de 12” de diámetro hechas con harina de trigo
I have just discovered your channel and have been binge watching your videos for a couple of days. Making these tonight with beef and some refried beans mixed in with the meat. Have had my griddle over three years and love it. Thanks for the great content and info. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Bobby. Welcome to the family
Looking good. Nice way to use up some left over bbq. Probably freeze well to so could have some fast breakfast in the morning
OOOOHHHHHHHH. Diced onion, pickle, bbq and bbq sauce then fried and topped with a sprinkle of bbq seasoning. Heads up IM STEALING THIS>
Nice recipe. They're called flautas, "flutes", in Mexico (and at least southern US, HEB sells some frozen ones).
Awesome thanks. Is that the same as taquitos.
@@TheFlatTopKing Apparently, I hadn't come across that name much, also tacos dorados. The American names for dishes can get confusing, for example queso just means cheese but it's a very specific type of food in the US.
@@thefourthnorseman thanks so much. I love food and culture. I personally think its one of the greatest things that brings us together regardless of race religion etc…. Never stop learning
@@TheFlatTopKing That's some of that Anthony Bourdain energy. 😀
Right 😄😄 lol, these are traditionally called flautas, already. Flautas (or taquitos) are normally fried with oil in a frying pan, but this video did it on a flat top. Which is interesting, didn’t know you could make flautas like that too 😄😄 great video overall ofc tho
Those looked amazing and I loved the Crunch!!!!
Thank you 😋
Your channel, recipes, cooking skills, & tutorials are AMAZING!!! Thank you.
Well I appreciate that...
I love the paper towels tip!
Another great video, thanks for sharing!
No problem.
Lord have mercy, this vid got me hungry for rolled tacos! Mmmmmm. Great idea for dinner tonight!
Well if ya like these check out the cheese steak taquitos...they have the same theme and were the best ever...its one of our most popular dishes
Happy New Year Neal… I’m heading over now… lol looks so good.. thanks for great vid again !

Loved the weather! Genuine. 😊
Thank you LIsa
Best flat top TH-camr out there!!
Wow. Thanks Bryan.
Yeah man!! You guys do a great job, look forward to each new video 👍
That’s a cool trick on the tortillas 👏
Crunchy delicious, rain or sunshine!
In my wildest dreams I never would have thought about cornstarch as Elmer's glue! Just Freakin Brilliant!
TY.....
I like that Grill version not near as much fat to cook in. That keeps the grease from running inside. Awesome thanks
good point...ill take it..we redid these and made cheese steak taquitos and they were amazing...check em out
Good to see some old stuff!
Yes sir....those things were fantastic
Wow, love the look of these👍👍👍😎🇬🇧
thanks bud....we remade them and made cheese steak taquitos with a cheese dipping sauce...out of bounds good...check that one out
Ricos tacos bajo la lluvia!!!!
Gracias
Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely
Love your channel! Waiting for my new Camp Chef to arrive :)
I am looking for a prep station and heard in another one of your videos that you may have a Husky Tool Chest with the wood top as your prep and storage area. I looks like this may be what your using in this video.
Would love to see a video or if you have suggestions for my search for my Prep Area.
Thank You so much
I have a link in the description listed below. Its not the same but but extremely close. I know if you search wood top work benches they are plentiful. I dod get mine from Harbor Freight and the brand is yukon.
Reach out if you need help with your new Camp Chef. Welcome to the family.
@@TheFlatTopKing Was looking at the Yukon, just yesterday... Thanks
Excelente técnica, esa no me la sabía, saludos desde México
Another awesome cook on the flat top Neal! Great football food. I look forward to your videos every week! Those short ribs looked great! Oooh man it was really raining. Be safe! Cheers y’all!
Glad you like them! I Hate to pump my self up but yo have to see the enchiladas I just make with the beef short rib birria. queso style. Jay hands down one of the best things I have made period.
I'll definitely be checking that one out!
I have been looking for the right flat top grill to get, not worried about the price just want something good and this video popped up. I was sold just on this one video. My son is "The Cajun Ninja" Between You Tube and Face Book he has over a million followers. He teaches Martial Arts and has his own platform cooking channel. He has his own seasoning called PI-YAHHHHH in hundreds of grocery stores, coming out with a fish fry soon and a cookbook in November. I know how important it is to have followers who subscribe to a channel. Just watching this one video I know you will have some awesome recipes and tips for me to try. I learned several things just watching this one. Can't wait to try these tacos and watch more videos. Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!
Small world....Jason and I talk all the time. Matter of fact check this out

That is a strong pro tip to keep those corn tortillas warm!
Another excellent video. Great advice and energy.
I appreciate that!
Yummy, thanks
I got a 36" Blackstone from my birthday and this channel has kind of become a goto...
Thanks Joel....congratulations and Happy birthday
I put toothpicks in mine so they stay rolled. I have also done mine with hotdogs witch is a take of pigs in a blanket, but with a crunch salsa & gaucamole they our to die for. Keep up the good work!!!
Great idea. Thanks John.
Those look amazing. So many different stuffing. Calabacitas, carne adovada, carne asada... if you can think it you can make a rolled tacomwith it. Nice video..
Heck ya. Great idea
Most of those words you think you created are words………or damn it they should be, lol. Always enjoy your vids.
hahahaha if it aint it should be..ahahhaha
LOL, pliability is a fine word:
the quality of being easily bent; flexibility. Good start to the year, and a short rib teaser to boot.........those have some awesome fat marbling, should come out fantastic!
Happy New year to you and your family. Stay safe this year ! Question Neil that rack ( the round one ) is that from the front of a fan ? If not where can I pick one up ? Thanks for another good video my friend. Frank from montana.....PS you can with out a doubt you can hear the rain ..........
Frank that rain was crazy. It should be listed in the description below. I show cased it in another video called flat top grill must haves.
Looks great. Happy New Year.
Happy New Year Terry.
Will be doing this with my carne asada leftovers. 👍🏻
Ooooohhhh great idea.
These look sooooo good! The chicken made me want pernil so badly.
Funny you say that. My wife and I are both beef fans but the chicken came out better tasting. Made us think about doing chicken cream cheese Jalapeño or green chili with cilantro rolled and dipped in a green salsa
Seasoning the grill sounds like the age old seasoning of a cast iron skillet.
Absolutely...if its a rolled or cast iron griddle we follow the same standard
Wanted to try some..looks yummy
making these this weekend!
Fill em up and enjoy....we enjoyed all the extra toppings as well
I did this with some leftover pulled port I found in the freezer. I failed to chop up the port to a finer level but turned out great. I added onions and cheese and ate them all
Sounds great! Nice way use leftovers
Yes, sir.
thanks Author....
In Texas we called a ‘rolled taco’ a taquito. Whatever their name, delicious 😋
Thanks Mary...
I can see and hear the rain😄
Right....
You can also just brush some egg whites on the edge and put them straight onto the flattop seam side down. They will seal just like an envelope in a few seconds. You can then continue or take them back off then and they are prepped for the deep fryer if you want, no toothpicks needed.
thanks for the tip
Got me starving now. Looks great. I’ll definitely be trying this.
One quick question. The other night I put corn tortillas on be flattop to warmup and some of them start to actually flake apart? Never had that happen on a frying pan. Any idea what I did wrong. I didn’t put any oil I just used the oil remaining from my cook and I had it a pretty low temp.
Thats how exactly i did it. Unless the tortillas were dried out to begin with. Like a bad package or older product. I will say we tried another brand recently and I told my wife the same thing. Seemed so thin that it was to brittle. Oh they also have thin style tortillas as well which would not work.
🖤🖤🖤perfection🖤🖤🖤
TY
The rain tho! 😬
Killer sometimes...thats why in recent videos we are expanding our deck to help keep the rain out..
throw a little coconut oil on the grill for the corn tortillas, just wow for flavor. You will never not do it after the first time.
ty
Please use a whisk and small craft silicone brush to apply "glue"
fingers work.....
Where u get your griddle? I.like itso much!
i have links listed below the description
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can you also use peanut oil because of its high smoke point?
I would think so....i personally dont use it but i think in my research I remember it...especially the idea of NUT oils...honestly I dont know...now let me rephrase this
Can you shallow fry and cook with it yes....absolutely
Can you use it as a oil to help keep your griddle seasoned...i am not sure
Equal parts water to corn starch
Thanks Joe.
Can you season your ground beef before you put on the fries the beef
Yes
You don't need to make that concoction to make them stick together you just put seam down🤔
You need a tortilla warmer.
Nice tight tacos 🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
dont use that packaged processed cheese. Grate it is better
I agree. Good point.
you should be a short order cook at waffle house
Feel like it. My daughters always want something different than what i make. All 4 of us like our eggs different.
@@TheFlatTopKing I was in the USAF active duty for 28 years now retired. I decided to use my gi bill before it expires and go to Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, i graduate in Jun 22. I will prob stay retired but know how to cook now LOL
