    Little Cities reminds me of the first SimCity, which has always been my favorite city sim.

    Now that little cities created the ground work hopefully it can be expanded with more depth .

    Love the side by side reviews for similar genre games. Makes it a lot easier to figure out which to decide on.

    Little Cities is great, but it's in desperate need of a curved road tool. Being stuck to perfect grids really limits the feeling of creativity.

    I like little cities graphics better, because they actually make sense for the hardware and also it just overall feels higher quality because of how smooth it is, I wish that Cities VR used graphics like that instead. It's really hard to try and go more realistic when you know the hardware can't handle it, I feel that the current rendition of Cities VR looks off because of it. if they had just done simpler style they might have been able to do more.
    I'd be interested in seeing little cities expand. Yes, it's simple now, but maybe in the future it'll be even better than Cities Vr as far as management. I would love to see some low poly people running around like Cities VR has. Also a Multiplayer mode so we can craft cities together.

    I have every DLC/expansion of City Skyline so I was not exactly interested in Cities VR. Little Cities appears to offer a different experience. Even if it's quite toned down. Probably going to grab that one instead. Hope Little Cities add little citizens walking around in future patches! :P

    Cities Skylines has quickly become one of my favorite games. It's been years since I've literally lost track of time and looked at the clock to realize it's 4am. I am really loving the in depth-ness of it. Not sure if I'm interested in a VR sim though.

    Well this sounds... almost word for word what I wanted out of a VR city builder in your other video. I'm going to get it the second it goes on sale rather than wait for a potential bigger sale/bundle which I rarely do.

    The thing about City VR is you get to see little characters actually walking around once you start populating but with little cities all you get to see is no driving around which kind of sucks

    I like your reviews and the format you have landed on. I think you should continue to do reviews.... unless you just really don't enjoy it. If you find yourself playing a lot of games you don't have an interest in for the sake of providing a review, and you want to spend your time on something else, do what makes you happy.

    Thanks for this, this review was SO helpful. Both games are on sale right now in the shop. Cities VR is only 19.99 & Little Cities is 13.99. I’ve decided I want something more complex so I’m going for Cities VR. Hopefully it’ll be $20 well spent. 🎉

    I guess the answer is START with little cities if you have no experience like me in building cities...then graduate to Cities VR? Both approaches look cool...but the instant gratification on little cities prolly motivates you to purchase cities VR?

  • @74amazing

    The vids of Little cities give me the impression, that the picture is much sharper than Cities VR (so i was expecting a higher resolution). I am slighty irritated, that you mentioned that cities vr looks "clearly better" since my impression is, that it looks exceptionally ugly. Just a matter of taste? How is the resolution of the games. Or does cities vr look much better inside the headset? And yes: i like reviews. Especially if they are real reviews and not just influencer marketing (not every game/mod/hardware can be mindblowing. For real :-))

      So sometimes we are struggling against the MEH capturing capabilities of Quest and other times we are looking at in development or trailer footage. It's hard to compare side by side. Littles cities is cleaner and doesn't need to rely on foveated rendering but its also minimalistic. Cities VR has a LOT more little details but as I said, neither look great.

  • @Rdasboss

    I guess with cities vr it just needs better vr implementation. Little cities clearly built ground up for vr. Cities is straight port.

  • @tiberius8390
    @tiberius8390 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like Cities VR is basically Cities Skylines, just ported to VR. The mechanics look the same. The question is what do you gain from it being a VR game instead of a PC game that really looks much better in comparison?

    • @Gamingwithmatteo311
      @Gamingwithmatteo311  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's exactly what it is and in truth you gain nothing and lose some things. I would only recommend it over skylines if you only own a Quest 2 basically

    I think the "VR-feel" of Cities VR was extremely disappointing, felt incredibly flat, almost 2d. I had expected the same kind of feeling like you get in Google earth VR where you feel like a giant among a model city. I refunded it very quickly. I remember Deisim did a good job of feeling like that but it was a long time since I played it (before google earth vr). How does Little Cities feel?
