cheers mate, it was a shame to miss out on some decent fish down there. I imagine you'll be having some pretty similar swells down your end at the moment. tight lines if you get out!
Fair play to you mate for giving it a go looks like a nice mark 👍 at least you didn't blank with the coalie 🎣👍 unlucky with your phone 🥴 I make a little 6in loop with some fly line backing that I thread through my phone case and attach that to a zinger, was a lesson learned after loosing a phone bending over for a fish
thanks Arnie👍. I read this earlier and I have already taken your advice- tied some 60lb mono to the inside of my jacket. not quite a zinger but will be much better than nothing. Great shout👌🎣
Honestly, a great video.I would say you were lucky it was just your phone and not you that was lost.Big individual swells that come from nowhere are man killers on rock marks like this.Always better to have a base camp well back from the water, where there is zero chance of this happening, which in turn allows you time to process the tide and weather at your pace and pick your moments to get nearer to cast.Life jackets are so compact and lightweight now , really an essential bit of kit especially if fishing alone.Huge individual rogue waves are dangerous not least because they appear to come out of the blue, but if you watch, they can also appear as the tide is about to change as the inertia creates a 'biggie' just on the last few minutes before high or low water.Tight lines, keep the vids coming!
thank you for the very valuable advice Paul. I will definitely look into these life jackets. the swell is one thing but being in waders and full waterproofs makes having one I feel almost mandatory. as soon as I can save up a few quid ill be getting myself one. cheers for the feedback and im pleased to hear you enjoyed the video 🎣👍🎣
Others might have thrown the towel in after the phone got lost but fair play for sticking it out. You deserved more fish for the effort. Well done on another great watch.
cheers James. I really appreciate the feedback👍. I think the swells are pushing the fish further out to sea. only one way to prove it though- keep casting!🎣🎣
Nice vlog again weather was mad recently eh!!,Love the rope work, The new Gido?? Canna wait to see new marks you find mate. Took losing ur phone well too. Keep it up!!
yeah the weathers been making the fishing tough. im not convinced the fish will stay inshore with swells being this size. only one way to find out though- keep casting! Thanks for the feedback David, ill hopefully be able to put the rope to use in a few more videos
Being fishing up that neck of the woods for a lot of years and the seal population is out of hand not as many fish now what the used to be unfortunately tight lines m8
that's sad to hear. I hadn't realised it had been increasing. watching back older videos of fishing st abbs there seemed to be a lot more fish around than what's there now. the issue is that people love them and protect them like they would a dog. it may be a little controversial but I don't think a small cull would do any harm as the fish are clearly in more stress than the seals are.
thanks again Joe, yes it bloody is. the weather won't put me off but it seems to be putting the fish off which we cant really do anything about. surely has to be a matter of time till we see what the North Sea really has to offer 🐊
Those rocks are the perfect shape for the swell to push up. You know yourself you were lucky just to lose your phone. Aftet a storm iy can look calmer but the long period swells can be huge. Waders are a bad idea on rocks too bud. I wear grubs boots with supatrack studs in the soles. Much safer 🙏🤘🙏
I don't but I think getting one at some point would definitely be a good shout. After seeing swells like this come out of nowhere it does make me a little wary what would happen if one took me in with full waders and waterproofs on. cheers for the idea. if I ever manage to save some money ill make the investment 👍
Please don't put yourself in danger like that again, just for us subscribers, it was quite uncomfortable watching it as it was totally unsafe and we don't want to lose you, better to be safe than sorry bud
thanks for the feedback mick, ive got myself an auto lifejacket which ill be wearing in rough seas from now on. I appreciate the concern and people like you are the reason ive bought one of these 👍
These are quality videos i cant stop
Laughing, fair play to you fella keep up the good work.
