Glorious weather for your trip. You were not far from my sister's campsite at Camus More. They have double figure pollack off the basalt rocks on the point at Camus More. Autumn is better than spring. Otters are regular and sea eagles. Less of a walk for you too, 20 minutes from the car. Keep it up.
Good video mate keep them up hope you got your skate you where after that’s been on my check list for years now but nice to see you getting a few pollock and collies can’t wait for next video
@@UntouchedFishing if you get up to Oban hope it goes well mate next year I’ll be going for them this year is sharks and tuna for me but hope you get a skate you deserve it mate with the hard work you put into it
@@UntouchedFishing thanks mate going down south to Torquay and will be going out on the silver halo charters for tuna and blue sharks hope you have a good weekend on the skate mate hope there’s a vid off you catching a monster I’ll have my fingers crossed for you mate
Those are all average pollack, get down to cornwall and out on a boat, thats where you find monster pollack. Up to triple the size of your biggest here
nice! I went back recently and the point to the north east on there is a killer spot. its awful for landing fish as you have to fish off like a 4m cliff but I caught probably 40 pollack in a couple of hours 😂. maybe one more to try next time your back.
I appreciate your concern. I do what I can to make sure the fish swim back strong- keep them out the water for only a few seconds and use strong tackle to avoid snap offs. I agree that there is room for improvement. 👍
Rubha Hunish can be decent, yes. I'd have to recommend you invest in a telescopic landing net so that you aren't bashing the fish around as you lift them out - responsible fishing and catch and release is the only future, kid.
I understand your concern Gary. It is something I am interested in buying in the future for that reason. I’ll do my best to improve my technique next time I’m out. First session of the year is usually a bit rusty 👍
Cracking video mate 👍🏻 some nice early season Pollock 🎣 its a stunning mark to fish😉 🎣 the views are absolutely amazing 👌🏻 very well done mate 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 Regards Arnie
Thanks for the comment Arnie 👍. I’m guessing you know where abouts this was then 😄 I just can’t wait to see how the fishing will be in July/august. Good luck with your fishing mate 👍🎣🐟
You can catch Pollock year round, but there's a lull in mid march to late April when they're out at sea spawning. Thankfully they're back now and I had 50 plus on Saturday.
Next time you're up on skye let me know. I'll give you a couple of pollack marks that are less than a 20 min walk and you'll get double the size fish that you got on this session
Hi @jamescraker6115 a friend and I fish Skye once a year. Unfortunately my health means I’m finding it more and more difficult to walk any distance. Would you mind sharing the mark with only a 20 minute walk with me. I’m happy to swap details with my most productive mark. Thanks, Kevin.
@@tragicrequiem yes mate why not. best well known will be niest point. ill be surprised if you dont get bigger fish than in this video from there. this was filmed at ruba hunish. both are probably an hours walk from the car but both will almost definitely have fish.
yeah found the pliers eventually cheers ahah. thanks for the help with it last night- it really would have been tricky without you there. You nailed the filming too, the shots are way better than I could have done myself so thanks again for that. done the weight today and the chart says 161lbs 😀. I'll put a link to your channel in the video description👍. I can't wait to see what you've got coming on the channel. the stuff you do has definitely got a big audience, I mean who wouldn't love to watch that sort of stuff! I think having the first one raw is the best way. if you have a look at my first that's all I did then you can just keep adding a bit with each new one you make. I use a GoPro for the chest cam- If you were going to buy one I would recommend going for the hero 10. the 11 or 12 are just more expensive versions from the 10 but the 10 is a good jump from the 9. you dont need one for your first video, just see if you like it first then put money into it if you do. cheers for the comment as well mate, have a blast while your ump here 👍😀🙏🎣

I appreciate that bigtrax, I use the Salomon speedcross 4’s. They have quite a soft bottom so are really hard to slip on. The one thing with it is barnacles shred the rubber so you will probably have to replace them once a year if you use them often. 👍
@UntouchedFishing Cheers for the info. We will be on Skye again at the beginning of August. Fishing the Arches, fisherman's point, Neist for Pollock, and a few of the small estuaries for seatrout and bass. Think I know where you were, but we didn't fancy the hike last year. Having seen it we are now tempted 😉
Hi mate, I’m using the savage gear 23g. Solid all rounders if you ask me. I’d recommend buying online as you can easily pay double the price if from a shop 👍🎣
never too early for pollack, i've had them every month of the year on the scottish west coast, the winter/spring fish can be lean but still fight great, you should try a 7 inch jelly worm on a 2/0 aberdeen with a 1.5oz lead to a bead/swivell, thats had me hundreds of pollack over the years 👍🏼 glad you enjoyed your day lad, well done
Great video mate ive fished that mark quite a few times I've been lucky enough to see minky whales off the end of that headland the climb up and down that cliff can be a bit gruelling but after a great days fishing its well worth the effort Regards Steve
Appreciate that Steve. Tell me about it😁 on the way down I didn’t think too much about the walk back as it was mostly downhill. Now I’ve done the other direction it’s definitely not going to be forgotten when I’m next there😅. Totally worth it though and makes it even more worth now I know there are minkys in the area. Thanks for the comment👍🎣🐟
Plenty of fish, locations and enthusiasm - what not to love?! (but in which order - that's the question...). Good to see another cracking video son!
Cheers Dad. id say give it another 54 videos and you might have the answer 😅. glad to hear you enjoyed it 👍

cheers mate, plan was to have one weeks ago if it wasn't for the bloody skate ahah. good luck with the lure fishing 🎣👍🐟
What is the best time to fish for pollock, 2hr before high tide or after?

What kind rod are u using thanks
Abu beast pro. 9ft 40-100g. Don’t have to go that heavy for the pollack really
What lenght of rod are you using and what's it's casting weight?
9ft 40-100g. Heavier than the ideal for this size of fish I’d say. 20-60 would be what I’d go for if only using for pollack
Nice one mate cheers! Is a 6.6ft way to short you reckon?
