Why would they? This video says they wanted the ratings. "...just created a memory that would be discussed for a long time" Any publicity is good publicity. Why would they not show it?
Security didn't respond either. For an event like that with people who are in the public eye, on an award ceremony held in such high regards in the entertainment industry, violence would not be tolerated, security would have removed him from the venue.

I think this is real the body language the whole time didn’t seem fake, and that smirk could be for him being happy that he successfully defended her wife from an offensive joke, and I saw this video going through there body language to see if it was reall or fake and it was real, also Will Smith was breaking down crying off camera during commercial break and people helped comfort him, and your freaking idiot if you can’t see this was real it clearly was.

You missed the most important element of the staging. If you ever got hit in the face, your first post hit reaction is to put your hand to where you got hit. Chris never does that, I knew it was staged as soon as I saw his reaction….
I mean I've been in a few brawls myself and I can tell you that's not typically how it works, your adrenaline is pumping and sometimes if you're not expecting it then a stiff one will put you in a state of shock and confusion for a few seconds but this was completely a false slap, you can see how Chris went with the direction of the slap to sell it like it was a Hollywood action movie and not a real fight

FACT: They had cameras at many angles recording but the slap is at the perfect camera angle to make a fake slap look real. No other camera angles shown. Also, Will initially laughed at Chris's Jada joke. When he slapped Chris it sounded like a mic thud NOT a slap. When Will walked off stage after the slap his face looked like he was getting ready to bust out laughing. Also, he did not get arrested or escorted out of the awards after assaulting Chris on stage and even worst Will was allowed to accept the award on stage as though nothing happened. Lmao! One thing that comes to mind is that if it was real, you would think there would be more camera angles that would have captured the event. This is the Oscars. They mus have 20 camera pointing at that stage from every conceivable angle.
That doesn't mean all of the footage is always published. if there were more angles, that would be an even better argument as to why it's fake because why would they publish it so much if not for publicity? The fact there's so little of it makes it clear that it's not something they want people to see
Like the other guy said, that's more proof that it was real than anything. We only have the angles that were chosen during the live feed. They have no reason to publish the shots not used during the broadcast. The Acadamy would look pretty shady (or more shady...) if they gave the extra angles out to the press so freely.
I think this is most fascinating aspect of this. the general populous is too, let's say, cognitively ... solidified ... .. yea let's go with that, to even fathom thinking about this further than surface level. The most obvious reveal is the horrible joke and also the dimensions of the horrible joke. It fit a certain criteria to set up the impetus for Will to be get up, walk down the isle, and slap Chris. Jada has alopecia. Why, specifically roast her? And why of all the jokes in the world did he choose to reference some movie from the late 90's(?). It was just a terrible joke and a terrible acting performance and it just doesn't jive as an organic, non scripted situation. What was the intended purpose of it? It's well known Will Smith is gay/ bisexual and Jada Pinkett is and has been his "beard" for a long time and they have a polygamous relationship. In some way this was to restore public perception? And his NETFLIX special was released on March 4th. the 2023 Oscars is on March 12th. So, Chris Rock refused to discuss it until he was getting paid for it, and "coincidentally" released it one week prior to the Oscars. So, for the past week, everyone has been heavily promoting the Oscars by talking about this again.
For me the biggest giveaway was actually the camera angle. They switched to the Hollywood fake slap/punch angle right at the perfect time. Its much easier to tell if a slap is fake from the side.

My immediate hunch it’s 200% staged. As far as Jada knowing, or displaying “painful expression”, an eye roll = NOT PAIN. It’s deliberate show of CONTEMPT, whereas all other micro-expressions are involuntary, meaning - it was done with intent to VISIBLY SHOW displeasure. Another great point - no display of fear by Chris Rock. None. No raised eyebrows and circular eyes. I also found it odd that there were no security guards that came for protection or to escort Will out and even after assaulting Chris he was allowed to stay and receive an award. I mean we even have security at my local co-op shop so us regular folk can buy milk in peace, so I can't see why not at the Oscars. Well, Chris Rock embarrassed them when he hosted the Oscars. It could be just built up anger, which he had to justify, but then his family was there and he wanted to celebrate that Oscar now that he didn't have that built up resentment anymore.
After being raised on WWE, the first time I saw the slap, I just assumed it was fake. I couldn't believe people bought it. My only question is, why? Why the rouse?
Many reasons. 1. Oscar's need controversy to sell views 2. Keep Black people confused. 3. Test the public to assess their collective consciousness and see what other tricks can be pulled in the future. 2 is actually number one, but I know point 2 is only number one to Black people who care and not white people who don't care. But using two Black men to perpetuate turmoil has a heavy emotional and intellectual effect on the former slaves of this country. Our collective immaturity is such that it can be easily revealed with minor stimuli. Our minds can be easily shaken and distracted from important things and it is this country's primary concern to make sure all the slaves stay slaves and stay stupid. This whole infrastructure is built on that premise and will fall without that premise because if Black people separate and make our own Oscars, own communities and cities and areas of life, we will naturally have a magnetic pull on the rest of the planet to follow us and the world will be ours, because the entire planet already follows us in sports and entertainment. There were multiple angles recorded at the same time. However, the only angle released was the one where both trained actors could make it almost look believable. Other than an actual slapping contest, I have never seen anyone slapped NOT grab their face. Also, there were no finger marks (welps) on Chris's face following the alleged slap.

I completely agree with everything you said. One more thing I will add that I’ve seen some people talking about is the fact that Chris Rock doesn’t make touch his face at all after the slap. To be honest, I think it is a pretty natural response to some type of impact to the body in the area that was impacted.
Damm the cameraman job is so underrated that people don't understand how it works if you watch sitcoms you probably would understand that when an actor says a line off script and act in a physical way the cameraman has to think fast to have him in the frame their reactionary reflexes are trained to do this stuff easily and trust me i studied cameras video and movie writing.

I keep telling people this was a publicity stunt and they don't accept it. Let me break it down. There was a mic positioned close to Will to catch his laughing, and his yelling/cursing at the end. Then, when he slaps Chris, Chris rolled with the slap to the side and back, just like they're taught in Hollywood. Someone not expecting a slap, their face/head doesn't move much, they just take the slap. Usually, in this type of scenario, Will would have yelled at him to his face after he slapped him, but no, he waits until he gets back to seat. Then you have the infamous grin easily visible as you mentioned. And last, but not least, Will and Jada are starting a new multimedia company that both their work will be released from called Westbrook, Inc. Of course now, they have to appear like a team after all the recent drama.

Answer: Smith's only repercussion from withdrawing is that he is no longer able to vote, and reinstatement is easily accomplished. Once he receives another academy nomination, he will automatically be reinstated.
Most of your reasoning can be easily explained away. "It's a natural response to imminent danger to put your hands up". He most likely didn't believe he was in any danger... did anyone actually expect Will to do that before they saw it happen? He could've just spoken into the mic and made it awkward like Kanye with Taylor Swift at the Grammy's. Or maybe Chris didn't know a slap was coming, but felt like one was, and prepared himself to handle it with class in case it did. The sly smile Will gave after the slap was one of gratification. And the whole "it received higher ratings afterward" argument is just confirmation bias. Obviously the Oscars were going to receive higher ratings due to this public scene, but that doesn't mean it was orchestrated especially for that purpose.

If that was real, it was the lamest slap ever. I've been slapped mildly a few times as a kid by other kids and you can definitely hear the smack. I don't even think my head moved that much! One thing everyone is missing is you can hear the sound of a microphone being slapped at the same time. That is NOT the sound of a face slap. It is the exact sound a microphone makes when you slap it with your hand. I believe Will had a microphone on his collar that he slapped with his left hand at the same time of "impact" for extra effect, straight out of the WWE playbook. When they slap their opponent, they often slap their own chest at the same time to amplify the sound.

Check out Chris's right foot at the moment JUST before the slap. It moved very, very slightly inward. It moved subconsciously to stabilize himself. That clinched it for me that it was staged. (Great analysis, also!)
I'm surprised that they weren't more convincing at this. Clearly they are not so good actors for live events, as movie actors they are used to doing several takes until they get it right. That is why people need to pay more respect to live theatre actors, they are the real thing.

Maybe this is a big show they did to promote their next movie. Imagine they re-enacted a scene form an upcoming movie where the character does this during an award-show. Left out the most obvious clue this was fake. With an auditorium full of cameras, it has only been shown from one angle. Showing it from several angles would give it away.

A simple way to know the slap was fake is that despite it being highly televised with a score of cameras in action, only one angle of "the slap" has been released by the Oscars. If it had been real, there would have been angle after angle released to the news for broadcast. Think about it, how many angles of this event have you seen? Probably just one.

I was looking to see if i was impaled, and even though i was having extreme difficulty breathing i never brought my hands up to touch the injured area.

FACT: They had cameras at many angles recording but the slap is at the perfect camera angle to make a fake slap look real. No other camera angles shown. Also, Will initially laughed at Chris's Jada joke. When he slapped Chris it sounded like a mic thud NOT a slap. When Will walked off stage after the slap his face looked like he was getting ready to bust out laughing. I keep telling people this was a publicity stunt and they don't accept it. Let me break it down. There was a mic positioned close to Will to catch his laughing, and his yelling/cursing at the end. Then, when he slaps Chris, Chris rolled with the slap to the side and back, just like they're taught in Hollywood. Someone not expecting a slap, their face/head doesn't move much, they just take the slap.
Usually, in this type of scenario, Will would have yelled at him to his face after he slapped him, but no, he waits until he gets back to seat. Then you have the infamous grin easily visible as you mentioned. And last, but not least, Will and Jada are starting a new multimedia company that both their work will be released from called Westbrook, Inc. Of course now, they have to appear like a team after all the recent drama.

One thing everyone is missing is you can hear the sound of a microphone being slapped at the same time. That is NOT the sound of a face slap. It is the exact sound a microphone makes when you slap it with your hand. I believe Will had a microphone on his collar that he slapped with his left hand at the same time of "impact" for extra effect, straight out of the WWE playbook. When they slap their opponent, they often slap their own chest at the same time to amplify the sound.

Check out Chris's right foot at the moment JUST before the slap. It moved very, very slightly inward. It moved subconsciously to stabilize himself. That clinched it for me that it was staged.

A simple way to know the slap was fake is that despite it being highly televised with a score of cameras in action, only one angle of "the slap" has been released by the Oscars. If it had been real, there would have been angle after angle released to the news for broadcast. Think about it, how many angles of this event have you seen? Probably just one.
