Bro you are a lifesaver, I have been researching for weeks about the application process for International Students with American Diploma until finally I came upon this video. Also I have some questions like do I need to take AP tests or the SAT will be enough? What about English proficiency test do I need to take it? can you tell me more in detail about the application requirements for other schools as an American Diploma it will be much appreciated ❤
Hey there! Thank you for the kind words! From my understanding, the SAT should be enough although I did take a couple of AP tests and submitted the scores (mostly 4s and 5s) as part of my application. As an international applicant, you definitely need to take an English proficiency test: I took the TOEFL (internet-based), and the minimum required score, as per UNSW's website, is a 94 overall for medicine. I know a couple of friends who took the IELTS as well, but can't say much about it since I didn't take it. In regards to application requirements for other direct-entry medical schools, it's pretty much graded on the same 3 criteria. Monash for example also ranks applicants based on academic merit (in your case the SAT), ISAT score, and interview (in their case, it's an MMI interview). Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, there aren't many scholarships available for the medicine program at UNSW. However, the UNSW International Student Scholarship Award is one option, though it's highly competitive as you'll be competing against students from various programs and degrees. As for the feasibility of part-time work, the answer is yes. I worked throughout my preclinical years (Years 1 and 2) and continued into my clinical years.
