Mapping the SL MKII

My best attempt at describing the somewhat tedious yet rewarding act of mapping Garageband functions to a Novation SL MKII 25 key MIDI device. Although I find working with MIDI a pain, it's nice to be able to remotely control GB functions away from the laptop.

Can you use joystick instead of the XY pad? Map it so it controls for example Cutoff in X and Resonance in Y?

letronchosier hi, I’m looking to buy a not expensive keyboard (£100-180] to work on StudioOne and found some Novation 61SL MKII on eBay, that’s why I ended up here! 😆. Would you recommend buying one of those or prefer something else for these times? Thank you in advance

Should be able to map midi in ableton but I don’t use that DAW.

can't you use the learn button instead.

reggie gimmix Learn doesn't work with my version of GarageBand. With other daws this would work

ah ..cool. I've never had much time to do much with mine...I came across another video where the guy was using the learn function. So I assume it only works with the DAWS available in automap or something. Unfortuntely I use Renoise which isn't a common DAW. ...bugger :(
