MJ played his cards wrong. He should’ve beaten tapales and he should’ve taken the Fulton fight. Now he’s realizing that losing to inoue is better than not fighting him at all
MJ ducked Fulton for undisputed for nearly 2 years. The winners of Inoue vs Fulton and MJ vs Tapales was agreed beforehand to fight for undisputed, but he lost to Tapales. Now he's mandatory for WBA belt, he wants his shot straight away when Goodman is mandatory for 2 belts the IBF and WBO has priority. Just wait until next year or when Inoue vacates to move up to 126.

If MJ expected his WBA mandatory shot after Inoue took care of WBC mando Nery, then why did he go and schedule a fight for himself in June/July, just like WBO & IBF mando Goodman had a fight scheduled for July?
Inoue wanted to fight three times this year, in May, September and December. So Team Inoue offered TJ the stay-busy fight in September and had almost concluded the fight negotiations when the WBA ordered the fight. The WBA made the exception for Inoue bc they have that provision. So the WBA waived Inoue's mandatory defence obligation, obviously. Next in line would have been WBO and IBF mando Goodman, so he got the call up for December.
Should Inoue want to stay on at 22 after the WBO/IBF defence against Goodman in December, then the order of mandatory defences would likely go back to the WBC and their next mando, Picasso.
Bob Arum is trying to make the Canelo-Mbilli fight in May, probably co-headlining with Inoue, who could defend against Mexican Picasso or challenge the Espinoza-Robeisy winner for the WBO Feather belt.
Apparently, Ohashi said that he's lining up a fight for Inoue in West Asia. That could be for MJ at 22, or someone like Ball at 26. Hopefully, Inoue will be at 26 by then.
Whatever, MJ and his manager Vadim will just have to stay in limbo till December, at least.. 🤣🤣🤣
