This boxer's style of fencing goes with karate's style (in and out)... History goes all the way back in the evolution of karate's style (in and out) in the early 1900s when there was strong European fencing influence in Japan towards late 1800
Fencing is similiar because of the footwork and maybe in this bout the fighters have a lot of respect for the others power, so that's why they keep distance and dont throw a bunch of useless punches, much like fencing where one bad extension can leave you vulnerable
I love that when he was showboating, it was actually a strategy. It's what you do in any sport to get into the opponent's mind. Two humble and great fighters.
It is so obvious that Inoue has mastered the art of boxing, nailing every blow where he see it; probably his vision is superior to others, finding in less than a second the weak point. Luis Nery seemed like a turtle, announcing his blows so evidently that Inoue had a lot of time to avoid them. The closest I have seen this, is in the movie The Matrix. Incredible.
@@WestonSitz yeah but for someone who has been getting credit the way he has been getting it towards being the best fighter which he is not canelo Alvarez has never been knocked down in his life and he has over 40 something fights this guy only has 19 fights or 20 and he's already been knocked down once
I actually feel more sorry for the Filipinos who hates Inoue with a passion...I mean, imagine how devastated they are to see Inoue WON AGAIN, and in such a destructive fashion too. My gosh, their heart must've felt like it was pull right out of their chest. Their only hope now is to see Inoue fights The Hulk, lol
they keep on whining that inoue keeps avoiding their "kamao" - but honestly, inoue's camp chooses and fights those who matter (while inoue is still in his prime). they have a hard time accepting the fact that casimero is a small fry.
@@jorgecortez2493 Exactly...Something don't feel right about them...Being a fan is one thing, but to be a whining raving lunatic is another... Inoue is not a bad guy at all, yet they hate him with a passion, weird lol.
Nery stared down Inoue as he walked back to his corner at the end of the knock-down first. He paid for that. His quickness left as the steady punishment ramped up, til he became a punching bag in the 6th. Another big talker bites the dust before the monster.
Naoya is one if not the most complete boxers in the sport today, his opponent was a very good, but naoya,s superior boxing skill was to much. One of my favorite in the game today but haven't seen him box in 2yrs
The Naoya tried to pull off what people call a Dempsey roll (I say that because the only Dempsey roll that was performed correctly was by Jack Dempsey, not even what Tyson did was a Dempsey roll)
Nery's head was on a straight line the whole fight. No head movement and little movement up and down from the legs nor left and right from the waist. Also, he lounges and is off balance when he throws certain punches. When a fighter has no head movement or movement (left, right) from the waist, you can close your eyes and throw a punch because his head is exactly where you expect it to be.
That "knockdown" fooled everyone. Full of fools confidence Nery starts punching air, leaving himself wide open until he starts fighting dirty, then Inoue puts him away. Childs play.
Notice the Japanese fighter, no tats. Mexican fighter all tatted up. To each their own, however, body graffiti is expensive and painful to remove after buyer's remorse.
Nery is no slouch with 35 wins, 27 by knockout and two titles. Its just that Inoue is on a different level. A true technician!
Nery should be proud to have the first career knockdown against such a talent. Inoue was clearly off guard in that moment.
😅 Against pillow fisted and old fighters? Yeah buddy.
