You should check out resident evil revelations 1&2 when you get a chance they connect to the main story there on PS4 I think it make sense to include them on your updated ranking. Revelations 1 takes place after re4 but before re5 and revelations 2 takes place after re5 but before re6.

For me Mr X, he's like Jason Voorhees put him down but keeps coming back. Currently replaying the Resident Evil games thanks in part to your videos, I'm currently up to Res Evil 4 on PS4, I still think it's the scariest game in the series & presents a fair difficulty challenge, I just downloaded Codename Veronica which only game in franchise I haven't played.

Top 3 monsters for me are: 1. Nemesis (RE 99 version) - On a first play through you never know where is going to pop up which makes the game very tense mainly because of the music that plays when he is nearby and he comes back stronger each time. Plus each battle is really intense and knowing that he has been sent to kill you by Umbrella rather than just mindlessly killing you like all the other monsters makes him even scarier. 2. Hunters (Both Original and Remake) - You think returning to the mansion will be breeze and then these bastards show up using valuable shotgun rounds plus the reveal of the first hunter is really intense. 3. Lisa Trevor - Such a sad and tragic back story and she can't die making you have to run away from her
The hunters always freaked me out. It was probably more due to the fixed camera angles & hearing them knowing they can one hit kill you. I agree with you on the crimson heads - they were not in the original 96 re which is why they were freaky in the remake: you’d think they were dead and then the way they jolt up and just zero in on you was crazy.

Yeah I half agree with the Ustanak. When you were hiding from him in the boxes that was terrifying. Other than that he isn’t really scary cuz of how action-centric he is.
Man those iron maiden or whatever they are called, fuck. The worse is when you enter a room and you hear the raspy breathing but does not know where the thing is. Plays with youre brains! And the fact that they are super slow adds to the chill factor I think.
For me, The Novistadores from RE4 are one of the scariest enemies. They inhabit the sewers and are completely invisible. They are able to climb walls and pounce on you from anywhere. The only way you can see them is their disgusting drool dripping on the floor, which you need to keep an eye out for so you don't get surprised by one. They also have a habit of full on sprinting towards Leon and you'll hear their footsteps splashing in the sewer water, which lets you know one is near. They turn visible when hurt by a powerful weapon such as a rifle or shotgun which gives you time to take them down, but in groups they are very difficult to fight
I Remember Lisa Trevor The Most Myself Because I Haven't Played Any Of The Remakes Except 1 Or Even Gotten Far Enough In The Original Games To Mr. X Or Nemesis Or Any Of That. The Glasp from Revelations 2. My favorite scariest monster from the franchise. It bends light from its whole entire body causing the victim to hallucinate in a zoned hum tone from warping your vision and honing on your blood. The kill scenes are horrendous and talented.
Mendez scares the shit outta me to this day. The atmosphere of that fight in the burning barn, dark and misty outside, fire spreading, just one on one, such an underrated fight. I think people tend to forget just how scary RE4 actually is, yes it's action but the creatures and atmosphere is horrific. Imagine if the remake does happen and we get an RE4 that looks and plays like the 2 and 3 remakes.... Goddamnnnnn

Thank God you can stun him for a brief period. Oh and no.3, The lickers. Yeah, they’re terrifying and the worst memory I have is going through the first hallway on the left after dodging Mr X, going through, seeing the licker and then having zombies walking around, then having to shoot them to progress, then having Mr X find you again, then the lickers find you. AAAARGGGHHH!

Here me out on my scariest RE character. The first zombie in the first game. You turn the corner and wam. There he is. Head turns and gasps. Camera cuts back to you. Your 12. The controls are different, Mario moves sideways only.!. You back into the wall, stumble in an awkward circle on the wall before just barely making it back to the hallway camera. Pure 100% the scariest moment in video game history ( if you lived it as it was then ). My second on first time play through is the baby from village. Enough said. Replay scare. It’s either jack from biohazard or Mr X. From remake. For the same reason you state. Plus jack seams real. He is hands down the character I feel actually had real thought put into him. Mr X because of all things in this world none painful. Being followed scares me the most.

I used to find G Virus infected William Birkin scary the way he wanders around the police station infecting random people like Ben, Chief Irons who admittedly deserved it and eventually his own daughter Sherry with G Virus spawn.
I wonder if the creepiness of the Scagdead boss from Revelations 1 will be enough to warrant an honorable mention. This is a guy who was resistant to the T-Abyss virus, so the end-result is this huge blobby monster... with a little human head sticking out to one side, because it couldn't completely absorb him. Said head is still aware and conscious, but fully insane, so he spends the whole boss fight babbling and trying to persuade you that he's still human, when he's not chanting that creepy-ass mantra of "Mayday!"

For me, the list would probably include the plaga dogs from RE4 (made the garden maze VERY stressful the first time or two), Hunters in the original and REmake (running, leaping and one-hit kills), and the Chimeras from the original RE (these guys came outta nowhere and really tried to run you down and they had a very odd appearance that you never really saw that well). Of course, these choices are there because of the actual player tension that they built, not out of any particular creepiness.

I agree with the exclusions of RE5 and RE6 for obvious reasons, but nothing from RE0? I thought the Leech Humanoids from that game were really creepy. The Nosferatu is probably the single most underrated monster in the entire series in my opinion, so I was very happy to seem him receive some much deserved praise here. Out of all the creatures in Resident Evil, both he and Lisa Trevor have some of the creepiest yet saddest backstories. And while I still think the original Nemesis is the single best monster in the whole franchise, I have to agree that Mr. X was better utilized in the remakes than Nemesis was. Overall, good list. I look forward to your updated ranking and hope that you'll play the Revelations titles eventually. Despite technically being side stories, they're very good and fit into the main narrative quite well.

No way is rerevalations and umbrella corps on the same level of what you have avoided. Youre either hot for content and just dont know resident evil well enough ( if you started at re4, this is the answer) or somebody else is writing for you ( probably not since you show your face while you talk, it must be from experience).

The iron maiden from resident evil 4 is my number one. Remember playing it and thinking the regenerators were horrible then one of those came out and I realized how fucked I was
Well I would say zombies but If we are talking monster monster then the Nemesis is absolutely the most iconic monster in resident evil but If we are also talking about scariest then those regenerating monsters that make that bone chilling graspy noise in RE4 stayed with me

I know you didn't get into the original games, but man...William Birkin's G doesn't even make the list? Holy shit. He isn't as good in the remake, but he was great in the original #2. Also if you had played the original #3 back when it came out there is no way Nemesis would barely make the list. All that said this was an entertaining video. I burst out laughing at your impression of Mr. X walking into a door when your face got close to the camera.
And every one seems to forget that giant spiders where in the 3 original games theres a reason why they aren't in the remake 🤷🏻♂️ js
I agree with the exclusions of RE5 and RE6 for obvious reasons, but nothing from RE0? I thought the Leech Humanoids from that game were really creepy.
The Nosferatu is probably the single most underrated monster in the entire series in my opinion, so I was very happy to seem him receive some much deserved praise here. Out of all the creatures in Resident Evil, both he and Lisa Trevor have some of the creepiest yet saddest backstories. And while I still think the original Nemesis is the single best monster in the whole franchise, I have to agree that Mr. X was better utilized in the remakes than Nemesis was.
Overall, good list. I look forward to your updated ranking and hope that you'll play the Revelations titles eventually. Despite technically being side stories, they're very good and fit into the main narrative quite well.

Looks like you need to give it a try to Resident Evil revelations and you might change your mind of most creepiest in resident evil games, trust me every single chapter i played i was praying to already finish the game in order to not play it anymore...In the whole game i would say Scagdead is the most creepy followed by Rachael Ooze
Regenerators we're scary I was terrified of them as a kid playing re4. Id also say Mr x in 2 remake was scary too very slasher like.
I think that is what Capcom is working on now. I think the next Remake is Veronica. I agree, The graphics are indeed very dated. But the game was really good. That one, Def deserves a remake. I really hope they don't touch 4. That game is perfection. :) I am for it of course, If they do end up doing 4? But I will be the same soon as I start the game. My first thought is gonna be "Alright Capcom, Don't fuck this game up" lol :p

Ah h*ll no. Maybe it would be for people that are scared of wasps and bugs. But for me, Jack is easily scarier.

No way is rerevalations and umbrella corps on the same level of what you have avoided. Youre either hot for content and just dont know resident evil well enough ( if you started at re4, this is the answer) or somebody else is writing for you ( probably not since you show your face while you talk, it must be from experience).

nolanc94 I wouldn’t know. The only RE game I ever tried on GameCube was RE 0 and I just couldn’t enjoy it with the camera angles and controls. Wasn’t til recently I played 2, 3, and 7 and just started to love RE.
