- Open House at the Short Line Model Railroad Club - HO Scale Model Train Layout
Founded in 1989, the Short Line Model Railroad Club strives toward replicating authentic railroad operations in the 1950’s with an emphasis on the railroads of Eastern Pennsylvania. In addition to operations, a large emphasis has been placed on realistic scenery and structures.
Trains are rolling though the detailed scenery representative of northeastern Pennsylvania, on the 900+ foot long double tracked main line, and a 75 foot long single tracked branch line.
Many of the model locomotives feature realistic steam and diesel sounds, and are controlled by wireless digital controllers. Be taken back to the days when coal was king, and the railroads were starting the switch to more modern diesel power, while still running steam locomotives.
Address: 11 South State Street, Ephrata, PA, 17522.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone and thanks for a great show. Old Master Gunnery SGT USMC.
Rbp would be proud 🥲
Unbelievable details. I like the car laying rubber from the police, with the smoke detail. Very cool! The Star Diner has a great breakfast. She caught the Katy left me a mule to ride...
I was a member of this club a few years ago. it looks like they are continuing their splendid modeling. Keep it up.
all looks amazing , good job ,thx for resumen👍
Very nice, thanks for sharing..😊
This is a fantastic job. 🙂
Thank you so much!!!
Two BIG kudos to this club for 1.) weathering the rolling stock. Too many clubs run everything like it just came out of the factory, and 2.) operating at least the freights at a decent speed, instead of the low yard limits out on the mainline, and 3.) Having the late 19th Century mixed freight behind the 4-4-0's. Nice touch.
One thing, tough, why is everybody afraid to run the Streamliners at scale speed? Seems like every large layout runs them as though they were funeral trains. (The passenger working at 15:45 looked just right, though.) I was amazed that the GG-1's were able to run with not a catenary in sight.
Excellent looking RR. I have to come out to visit next time I'm in the area after the Holiday schedule of my 2 clubs in the Philadelphia area.

Hi, thank you for checking. Feel free to share, glad you liked it. Happy Holidays!
Unlike their European counterparts (which are equally outstanding) American layouts feel much more "lived in" --- and harken back to a different time and place
Why dinner music lol
Merry Christmas 🎄
