    Really enjoyed the video. My first ever fishing trip in 1974 was to Dungeness. I loved the "Whiting sandwich" description of the Dab, Whiting, Dab triple shot !!

    Another top production.
    Thanks so much for the time and effort 🎣

      Thanks again Michael - that's the first time I've caught rockling for a while, so I didn't mind too much - makes a change from being pestered by whiting!

      Yes I always enjoy visiting Dungie in the winter - if only the codling would return! Thanks for watching and commenting Gary.

    Great video. That was a long session, going by the tide. Had to laugh when you nearly got washed away ! Hope you enjoyed the dabs 😋👍

      Thanks Rob 👍 Yes - it was a long wait for the first bite and I was thinking about packing up and going elsewhere. I had to stay when the dabs started coming in and there were few whiting showing.

    Another good video...
    Was ment to drive up to sizewell tonight for a few hours fishing so got home from watching the Ipswich game had a few hours sleep.
    When i woke up it was pointless driving the 25 miles because the wind was blowing to hard so at the beach it would have been unfishable.

    Thoroughly enjoyable as ever. Do you ever keep any of sizeable Dabs?, I find them equally as tasty as sole if I'm lucky enough to catch one. Here in Portsmouth unfortunately there aren't the numbers that we once saw in the 80' and 90's.

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks James - yes I do take a couple if sizeable; however, I much prefer soles!

    Great video Rod hope you got my details on pumping black lug if not just let me now tight lines.

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes many thanks for that - all I need now is a pump and the skill to collect bait! Any suggestions of where to obtain a good one would be apprewciated.

      @@rodsangleuk6283 I youse a shakspere pump 22 mil not to thin because I like the worms to come up without splitting then I can gut them out myself. You get a good mixture at Dymchurch beach especially on the big tides coming up next week. Pump was brought in a tackle shop but you easily get one on line also watch videos mate plenty on line of pumping lug in my area. 👍

    Hi Mick. Well that was a good session and, as ever, an excellent video. Never really got into the habit of pre-baiting rigs and hanging them on the tripod in readiness. Really should do so as it clearly saves time and and keeps rigs in the water for longer. Did the dabs show any preference for black lug or blow lug? I always think of two incidents when I see a video of fishing at Dungeness. On one occasion I took a wrong turn and ended up driving around the power station inside the perimeter! Always surprises me that I wasn't stopped by security and questioned. On another occasion, fishing near the boards, I am convinced that I saw a ghost! Happy days. Stay well and stay healthy. And until the next time...cheers. Ken

      Thanks Ken - yes it can be eerie there at times at night - I've got a video from the boards coming out soon. The dabs I've been catching here didn't seem to mind about the lug worm - although in general I find they prefer sticky black lug tipped with bits of sprat. That's not been the case at Bradwell and on the Holderness coastline as you may see in future videos!

    I remember rockling, greedy blighters would impale themselves on a 4/O hook whilst we were fishing for codling. We caught mostly whiting, such is life. Happy memories. Thank you for your videos, no music, no frills and excellent camera work, PS was it 3 bearded or 5 bearded?

    Hello Rod. Please can you tell me if you have an extremely advanced camera system that can pan, pitch, and zoom in and out of a subject via advance AI software and gimbal system because there's nothing out there that can do what your system does? Thanks you in advance.

    Are dabs and flounders good to eat?

    • @rodsangleuk6283

      Dabs are delicious, but I'm not keen on flounders - to me they're tasteless, so I put them all back. Thanks for watching Nigel.

      Glad you enjoyed it - yes Dungie is still a great venue in my mind; even though the days of great cod catches are over.
